yaa even they also............!!
imei cannot be restored by reinstalling stock firmwares... or any other firmwares for that matter.. u should have made a backup of your efs partition before doing any thing to your phone
there is a method to create a new efs partition with your original imei
search the forum u'll find it
Oh yeah... Sorry for the wrong information man... I got a little confused..... I think you'll find a fix in this thread - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888193

hmmm...... this isn't a 100% working method...... but if you want you can try this.... it's just an idea .... but can work-
Following steps can help you:-
Flash Stock eclair i5801DDJ6 (It's under Asia firmwares) from Sam firmware. [This is the original firmware that our phone came with] here's the link - http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i5800.htm - you'll have to signup to download the firmware.....
the password for the zip file is Password is samsung-firmwares.com
if the imei still hasn't restored then..... disable usb debugging on the phone(if it is enabled that is) and update to froyo through kies.....
If still the problem persists....just take your phone to the samsung service station with the bill and all...... cook up a story and make an innocent face and they'll repair your phone for free! .........
btw if your wondering updating through kies unroots the phone completely so your warranty will still stand as the service centre people most probably won't be able to detect that you rooted or anything!!
Hello,
I'm new to this forum and to Android OS in general. I bought Ideos X5 last month and I would like to root it and install the new ROM on it. So this is my understandig of the way I can do this.
First I have to root the phone with Super Boot (program used in one of the tutorials) and raplacing the boot.img with the (boot.u8800-modaco-superboot-r1) - found on modaco forum.
Then I have to put on the ClockworkMod by replacing recovery.img.
I backup* the phone in ClockworkMod and wipe all the data. And the last In the CM I choose the zip of my ROM.
So... I hope i get it. I have few more questions. If I use *backup* in CM it will return my phone to the ROM it was when the backup was done.
Is is neccesary to update firmware and why is good to do so?
Which is the best ROM to use?
Thank you!
You don't need to root.
Just put clockwork in and backup and install new ROM.

Can you not just put it in bootloader mode and replace the boot.img that way?

Exactly. Use PerfectBoot from here.
So this is the first thing to do, no rooting necessary. I suggest you try out Oxygen, and Miui (they both come prerooted). Why? They are based on Android 2.3.5, which has a much better battery life than the Huawei-ROMs and is much faster at the same time.
Is there any risk to brick my phone?
As long as you have CWM installed.. whatever happens you can always restore the files.. bricking it.. would be very hard.

What is ANKWONE ???
Wrong IMEI restore backed up EFS folder .
Or take to a service centre if no backup .
But before that you could try reading the ten thousand previous no IMEI/EFS posts .

You seem to have a corrupt efs folder, just restore a backup of you have one.
If you don't have a backup you will need a service at your local service centre. Run triangle away, flash stock, factory reset in recovery and remove any indications of root or custom firmware before hand.

if i whant a service centre i wasnot wrote this
Then your out of luck if you don't go to a service center.
Should always backup the EFS when flashing. I had this on my Galaxy S1 a few days ago and didn't have a backup. Going back to stock fixed it so try that if it doesn't work then goto a service center or put up with it.

Check Marek's thread about how to write your IMEI back onto the device. - You will only be able to write your Orginal IMEI back to it and it'll rebuild your EFS.

Thanks for reply , I cant find Marek's thread.
I appreciate if you could share the link.
Thank you !! :good::good:
More details : My device keep reboot for no reason and seem choppy without IMEI&Baseband ..
Changing or rewriting your IMEI is a criminal offense. I'd think carefully about it if I were you.

Changing it is depending on what you change it to or the reasoning for doing so. Rewriting your Original IMEI which you own is not. Especially if you have messed up the device flashing firmware etc. There's a very fine line between illegal and legal. Especially around the world.

Considering this is the international forum there is no way of knowing what the laws regarding that are in op's country. Rewriting your own imei shouldn't be an offense anyway. Obviously doing it to obscure theft is something else, in that case we agree.

Did you also have Baseband UNKNOWN along with the null/null imei? I haven't tried mirek's method, what do you suggest, i have the same problem.

Yes i have baseband UNKNOWN along with null/null IMEI , i restored my IMEI and baseband with this method from mirek's Thread :
adb shell
su
dd if=/external_sd/mmcblk0p1 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1
dd if=/external_sd/mmcblk0p2 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2
dd if=/external_sd/mmcblk0p3 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
dd if=/external_sd/mmcblk0p4 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
and on....
after that my device started to bootloop , i reflash stock firmware once more , and it worked , my IMEI is back , but my SN is random , Im using MIUI rom not sure that rom affected my SN ?
Is the phone usable ? Can you make calls and use 3g/4g ?
Also, did you use the Fix soft brick.rar files or just the PIT file from mirek ?

hello friends why there is no safe stock rom for honor 8 lite
pra-la1C185
all the roms in frimware finder were broken
and after installing them
camera and microphone were not working
i tried installing them with fastboot and twrp
but had no camera and sound at all
some of friends said it is because of broken boot.img or vendor.img
and some friends said root your phone by flashing SuperSUv2.82-EMUI5-dm-verity-Permissive.zip
because it edits the boot.img and camera and sound is working i tried that and camera and microphone were working
but really don't need root all the time and after unrooting they don't work again
i searched a lot and didn't find any good rom
plz help and find a safe and sound rom for honor 8 lite pra-la1c185
i need it very fast plz help friends
Based on what you said, just leave it rooted.
