Re: [q] motorola defy mb525 "battery insert then automatically on and restarting"
Did your flash finish with "Finish/pass" or "Please manually power up phone"?
If it Finish/pass then read about wiping in Stock Recovery to fix bootloop.

(But just use the same SBF file you flashed, don't use DFP-231 Defy+ on older Defy!)

No can do, Moto has locked our Defy's bootloader and won't unlock it for us...So no Fastboot in Defy!
I never know why you need to replace those file, never seen it before in my 2 years exp of using this phone.
EDIT: I see now, they're here in my phone. But Didn't this file just got replaced when flashing SBF? What happened to your phone now, can you boot it or not?

Didn't just getting your phone to work, root it, then use any root accessable file explorer to replace it yourself will do?

How's your phone, can it get to Bootloader to flash again?
Did your flash finished with RSDlite showing "Finish/pass", or giving a "Please manually power up phone"?
If it the later, then you're not yet completed your RSDlite flashing.
Try flashing your rom again til you get "Please manually..." message again then do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38187413

MS2 reboot only in Bootloader!

Hello,
I have a big problem. I misplaced my MS2 with a customrom Droid 2 installed. after which the phone is stuck at Moto logo, I wanted to flash it with RSD Lite again. But unfortunately it has made all the worse. The screen then remained always black. By accident I found out that the master is always handy in the bootloader if I make the battery clean. the RSD Lite detects it again and then when I want to flash an SBF file he does it without problems. only then if he should make a reboot it ends up back in the bootloader. but i can´t see the bootloader. I know not what to do yet.
can anyone help me?
thank you
greeting
I didn't get quite right the situation but tell me which sbf are you using?
Is it the same android version that was before?
Have you tried pulling off the battery, waited 10 seconds, hold vol + and vol - (or X and arrow up, depending on android version) and powering up to enter the recovery and do a full data wipe? Does it starts normally after that?
Yes, it is the same as before sbf. I've been on it before GB and GB have also flashed.
at the first flash of sbf I'm also in the recovery menu and have a full wipe made but which has unfortunately not have shown anything.
I thought that maybe Customrom a different bootloader has been on it so I downloaded the 70.13 bootloader and flashed.
Since then I have the problem that it only comes into the bootloader, and here again but I have only a black screen.

i saw the video and like everyone else tried to upgrade my phone to ics... (this is the point where i would like to kill myself for doing that)
but unfortunately i encountered an error
bootloader

Err:A5,70,00,00,23
Battery OK

at that point i thought i was done and didnt knew much about the rdslite and bootloader and all that stuff...i was gone crazy and tried to search a solution on google and found out that it was the sbf that was damaged so in a hurry i read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982

when the process was complete i was so happy that i fixed my defy but i actually made it worse
now i was not able to root not able to install bootmenu or any thing else this all has happened just last weekend
first i accepted it and thought its better this way
but after some time i realized my mistake and now i posted it on this sit
plzz help me find a suitable SBF because previosly i tried some
like this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375701
and the result was that my phone wasn't switching on it sowed a white led light
it was the same result in the second one so i switched back to

[Q] Defy stuck at bootload with cwm7.2..CONFUSED

Hi my Defy experts....hope you all doing alright.....
Right im just stuck in middle of nowhere and im confused...
Let me debrief whats going on
My friend gave me his motorola defy blur which was running 2.2.2
he asked me to root it (as i have done with my galaxy s2 and moto xoom )
I downloaded and installed 2init and restarted phone twice and waited for blue blink and it was going into CWM recovery...so thats fine
Than i used superoneclick to root it which went fine and done correctly...
Than i installed Cwm 7.2 via recovery and wiped data/cache/dalvik bla bla all went smooth and installed gapps...
And reboot and everything was working fine...
Than my friend used phone dont know what the hell he did....Green light was blinking when he gave me so i thought let me restart it...it might work fine...but since than it gets stuck on the google logo of cwm....i have tried going in recovery and doing wipe and everything but it wont go past the bootloop
So here im confused, that what am i supposed to do and what is the issue...
I am not sure what actually has gone wrong and what needs to be done...
If someone can guide me through it that where is the issue and how to tackle it ..i will really appreciate it...
I have searched the forum the conclusion im coming at is that do i have to flash a sbf via rsd4.9 to get phone working...and if i do i assume the phone will go back to whichever sbf version i download...can i after that install cwm7.2 again.....
and will this issue arise again....
Thats quite long right sorry
So waiting for replies people...
looks like kernel problem...first download CM7 kernel and try to flash it through recovery..
try and let us know
A noob question....
Which kernel exactly shall i flash ? and if u can provide me the link....it will be helpful
Have you even the blue LED?
If yes, then went to the CWM and install the CM7***.ZIP again.
If no, then you must flash a brand new SBF like that one:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...SAJORDANRTGB_P026_A007_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz
Its the retail british SBF.

I have just done that again.....
I am getting blue led light went in recovery and wipe data and everything than flashed my cwm7.2 again and still gets stuck at google boot image....
Could it be that i directly flashed cwm7.2 and not cwm7 first ? but it should not be an issue right ?
i think i will try the kernel change option
Ok i think we have a bigger problem now....
when i did the CMW signed.zip in recovery and restarted it..it hanged again on google boot image....so i had to take battery out
and after that i turned it back on
now its showing me this BLACK screen which is saying
Bootloader
09.10
Code corrupt
Battery ok
ok to program
Transfer mode:

NOthing else happening..... NOW WHAT ?

You should download RSDLite and the flash a suitable sbf (possibly Froyo)... Check this link for the sbf that you like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537 I recommend using a Froyo sbf since these are less risky and can be rooted easily... I have RSD Lite v 5.3.1.. you should get a download link somewhere here... Best of Luck!

Original .sbf

Hi,today I have flashed original Motorola .sbf ,I downloaded it from here. It is 3.4.2_179-002, Retail Central Europe version. Now,after flashing it with RSD Lite the phone does not boot. There is no even Motorola logo at the start, nothing, its dead. How can I start the phone with this original .sbf? I want to have original froyo on the phone, and I know how to get back to CM10 but im not interesting in that now.
Thanks.

markos807, did the SBF flashing process complete successfully and did u get the message "Please manually reboot phone" in RDSLite window?
Did u verify the MD5sum of the downloaded SBF against the MD5sum given in the download page to check if the downloaded SBF file is not corrupted?
Are u still able to go to the Bootloader by pressing VOL UP+POWER button when the phone is switched off?
Only if u provide the above information, I can suggest what can be done next.
1.I dont remember what was the message, but I think it wasnt "Please manually reboot phone",but it was done, some other message saying its done
2.How to do that?
3.I cannot go into bootloader and when I connect a phone via usb to the PC the RSD Lite recognizes it so I can flash some other verified sbf.
Thanks for trying

Might I suggest, pull your Defy battery, replace it, do not attempt to get into bootloader, Leave it off. Just plug it in with usb after booting up RSD lite and see if connects on it's own. Sounds like a bad flash. I've connected that way numerous times.

1. Even I dont remember the exact message But I remember that it asks us to reboot the phone manually.
2. If the SBF which u are using is corrupted while downloading, it may lead to bad flash. U can google and download and use any of the md5sum checking tools. I use winmd5 application(I'm using Windows in my laptop), which is easy to use and it has UI unlike some other md5sum tools which have to be run through command line.
3. If RSD Lite recognizes ur phone, then try flashing the SBF once again. But ensure that the SBF is not corrupted as mentioned in point 2. If ur SBF is corrupted, try downloading it again. There are chances for a file to get corrupted while downloading. That is the reason why md5sum is mentioned in the download page to verify the file after download.
Winmd5 app says "Matched!". That means it is good?
Yes, if the MD5sum matches it means that the SBF file is not corrupted. U try flashing the same SBF again and see if it works.
@ markos807: Were u able to flash SBF successfully? I would like to know if ur defy is working fine now
Gingerbread (BL7) back to Froyo?
Did you already flash a Defy+ ROM with Gingerbread?
From a BL7 ROM there is no way back to Froyo. BL7 doesn't support that.
When I wanted to go back to froyo, I was flashing this sbf: JDGC_U6_2.13.0 China Unicom Thread/Download !!!BL6 kernel !!!
And that broke my flashlight! And because of that I want to go back to other official froyo sbf to see will the flashlight work. Do you know any other fix for the flashlight? Anything please?
Also, I am flashing same sbf second time now, will post the results.
Edit: Cannot boot the phone with any .sbf downloaded from here. The only .sbf that I can flash and boot the phone is JDGC_U6_2.13.0 China Unicom and that one broke my flashlight.

Mate, as you flashed BL6 sbf then you are stuck with BL6 and no way back to froyo other than chinese one.
Your flashlight could be burnt out - in such a case only moto service can help
What do you mean you cannot boot with any sbf from walter79 thread? Have you tried all of them? (You shouldn't). Or only froyo ones?
If you tried only froyos, then you can flash gingerbread BL6 to check your flashlight
And have you tried wiping data and cache from stock recovery? Is it accessible with power + volume down?
No, I cannot acess stock recovery. I have tried only froyo ones. Can you give me the link for that BL6 GB, I`ll flash it tomorrow because I really want to fix my flashlight.

Try any from a range 4.5.1-134_DFP-125 up to DFP-161. Higher are usually BL7, lower are BL5, so no use to flash
Link to the sbfs
I have succesfully boot up a phone with this sbf: DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-125_GR_SIGN.. but my flashlight is still not working. The camera is not working at all.

Well, I suppose you've burnt your flash unfortunately with chinese froyo.
Your camera will not work with GB ROMS. It's normal. but it was you who flashed BL6 ROM on your green defy
You have to go to CM10 2ndboot builds to have your camera working again.
For flash I suppoose only moto service can help

[BRICKED] Droid Razr M

Hello! Not sure how this happened. Last night, my girl turned off her Razr M phone and went to sleep. This morning, she tried to turn it on and it was stuck on the "Motorola" logo. After a while, it said that it failed to boot and gave an error. Sent me straight to AP Fastboot mode.
I started researching and somehow the phone is now bricked.
So, my research took me to download RSD Lite and I tried downloading various ROMs and stuff - I'm really new at doing this with Android so bare with me
The latest thing I tried is the PacMan ROM, but RSD Lite gives me the error: "Please check input file. Eithe rxml format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing."
I read somewhere that it's not necessary to use RSD Lite for ROMs, the thing is I can't access my SD card. I don't have a way of getting anything in or out of it. No other devices.
What can I do at this point? I am willing to try anything to get it working again.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this

It gives me this error message: "Failed flashing process. 1/18 flash partition "gpt.bin" Phone returned FAIL"
I'm downloading an earlier version of the OS to see what happens.. any other ideas?

Open the xml inside the zip you're flashing and remove the line:
Code:
<step operation="flash" partition="partition" filename="gpt.bin" MD5="5B3FD782141145E4BD1C9270D954AFF1" />
Yeah modifying the xml file is necessary, but also make sure your phone is charged above 50 percent. Low battery causes some funky errors with RSD.
Also what version of android were you running? I'd try flashing the new stock KK with RSD to at least get it up and running....then worry about flashing a custom.
The good thing is if you're getting into fastboot, you're not hard bricked and it's salvageable with some work!

Is your boot loader unlocked?
Sent from my XT907 using XDA Free mobile app
Hi,
To answer all the questions:
1- Is your boot loader unlocked? No
2- I've modified the XML file and removed the lines I was advised to remove.
3- Not sure what exact version of Android the device was running, as it's not mine. Also, what is "stock KK"???
4- ezknives, I've read through the post and basically the guy removed lines from the XML file - did that, also uninstalled Moto stuff and installed Motocast. No joy.
Right now, RSD shows the error message "Failed flashing process. 1/16 flash sbl1 "sbl1.mbn" -> Phone returned FAIL."
I am using the 4.4.2 firmware found here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=8
Other ideas?
One more bit of info. The eBay seller reports the phone had "Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich" installed when she purchased it. Not sure if she updated it or not, but I don't think so. Does this new information change anything?
EDIT: I downloaded and tried out the 4.0.4 version from http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=8 but it stops at the same steps, even after editing out the XML file.
Also tried the utility found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207419&page=2 (the latest version).. seems that it does some work but the device still doesn't respond. Gets stuck at Android logo.. and I've tried RSD with all I have (4.0.4 and newwer) but no luck.
OK so.. somehow I managed to flash the stock 4.4.2 version after many tries - using RSD.. it now boots but only to a frozen "M" logo.. and keeps cycling back to it.. any ideas?

Hi, I was able to flash - or so it seems - 4.4.2 but it gets stuck in a loop (motorola logo, turns off, goes back).. unless i put it back in fastboot.
Will unlocking the bootloader help me? I am trying to get Motorola to give me the code/help me with this, as my device does not have USB debugging turned on. But before I continue "fighting" to get the code, I want to make sure i can use it for something. Can you advise me?
Thanks!!!

Re-flash 4.4.2 with RSD Lite one more time. I've read that running it (RSD Lite) twice will help to fix the bootloop issue. As far as unlocking your bootloader, Motorola will not give you a code if you do not own a developer model. You'll need to use Motopocalypse to unlock.

This would be the 4th time successfully flashing 4.4.2 with RSD Lite, but I will do it just to see what happens. About unlocking the bootloader.. it's still not clear to me what I will gain if I can get it unlocked.. Can you enlighten me? Thanks!
