hi I'm new to this forum I just bought htc dream and I saw on youtube there's a way to get android 2.0.1 on it. Is that true? How can I do that I also saw that the camra didn't work. Is there a way to make it work? And I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

I like Camera Magic better. It is faster, more resolutions to chose, and full screen viewing.
why 2.0.1...?
If I were u I'll go straight for the gold with
2.1 I like it better try kingklik.

Or just wait for CyanogenMod 5 in the next week. It will be a fully working 2.1 Eclair ROM.

lol, there's really no "best" ROM. It all depends on what you want. If you're a noob you would probably want to try out something stable and CM's will be the first stable & fully functional 2.1 release for the G1. I might recommend waiting for that. In the meantime you should probably root your phone if you haven't already and install a 1.6-based ROM. (Almost all of them are stable - you can pick just about any of them.)
when is that coming out? And how do I root it is there a tutorial?
Im guessing you don't know much about this don't you?

Alright let's begin shall we.
This Youtube video will get you into the root procedure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8F7FVISb7w
-------------------------------------------------------
Now once you do that you will need to find a nice stable, quick ROM.
Search : Super D, Cyanogen, or Zach and Xillus200.
Heey guys, first topic here
So my problem is, I downloaded Desire ROM last month. It's kinda buggy not cus its Alpha so I wanna go back to stock.

You shouldn't have deviated from stock in the first place. I would even go as far to say you shouldn't have even rooted your phone. You're going to get flamed....... You should have searched, and that tutorial is pretty basic. Figure the **** out

I agree.
However, I will admit that "tutorial" makes my eyes bleed. I cringe every time I have to link to it.

Click the link in my signature.
Instead of the zip files in my thread, download the zip file from the shipping ROM thread (" You may get the Original Shipping Image from HERE or thru Modaco HERE. [22607 build] ").
before going back to stock i recommend trying cm.5.0.6 rom, its 10x better then stock.
This may not be to your liking, but why not go with Cyanogen? Its UI is optimized for the Nexus One. Combined with HelixLauncher it's even more kick a$$.
Maybe i should try cyanogen
I heard that its really good :] And it is full version? not alpha like desire ROM, right? :]

here u go... i use this alot and has helped me in the past

they're not buggy but compared to cyan the battery life just sucks. I don't think many people use those ROMS as their primary OS.
if u were decide which stock ROM u will put in all hd2 which
costume ROM u would put to fit every person habits on the planet
so it will fit any person
ofc this person could get better ROM for him
but still which is the minimum ROM to start with
the stuck ROM is not good ROM enuf lots of bugs
I'm confused by you're post are you asking what is the best custom ROM to use?

There is no 'best rom'. This thread is likely to get deleted so I'd suggest looking in the ROM Development forum and finding one you like the look of.
from what i gather you wants a rom thats as close to stock as possible but not actually the stock rom
there is a thread in the rom section that tells you whats uncluded in each rom no link sory on my phine, i think its a sticky so will be near the top of the list

Yes I red what you posted and I went through all the threads. But the only advice is to try new kernel or ROM. I am not an IT i am a normal business man so I dont have time to "play" with my phone for the whole day.
That is Why I was asking for some fix. I used WM 6,5 and I was used to do things like this with hotfix-es

Hi,
I,'m glad that you took the time to read the posts I suggested, and I hope you learned a little bit more about your HD2.
The reason I pointed you in that direction, was to show you that there was no solution to your problem, other than to try a new kernel or ROM.
I am not in IT,and if there was an hotfix, you would have been directed to it.
It does not take a great deal of time to install a new ROM.Just make sure you BACKUP your information before you start(use CWM backup and restore).
Otherwise, you are stuck with your wakeup lag.

My earlier post was meant to be a joke between i & malybru, so pls don't tk it personal...I understand wat it means not to have adequate time to "play" with our phone especially when its a primary device to keep in touch with a business...Nevertheless, d only way 2 solve most issues is 2 get create time and play with different builds/kernels to find dat sweet mix for u...So just as malybru says, mk sure u have a cwm backup before doing anything cuz i've used C.D's 1.6 and it was quite stable for me...
Hey guys! forgive me for this stupid question ... I'm thinking of buying a nexus 7 arrived in Italy these days ... I decided to look at the development section to see which Rom were already available
I was amazed to see that there are two sections of development:
- Nexus 7 Android Development (for the Asus Nexus 7)
- Development Nexus 7 Original (Original development for the Nexus 7)
hardware diferences?
I don't understand what the differences are? could you explain?
sorry for my bad English ... : (
