freedompop.com is offering free internet on Clearwire's WiMax network. They give you a USB dongle, would this work with the n7?
Maybe. What's the brand and type of the dongle? If it works with Linux, there are chances that it also works with a rooted Nexus 7 (with a new kernel perhaps).
As suggested, if it work in linux it should work on a rooted n7 with otg cable and the pppwidget app which contains usbmodeswitch

It works with my tf201. I think as long as your device supports cdc and has a usb port you should be in good shape.
Hi guys,
I recently bought a google nexus 4 running android 4.2.1 stock.
I have been trying to connect it to my tv using a HML adapter however when i connect it all up and set the tv to the appropriate setting (HDMI 1)
the screen just remains blank and there is no sound.
I have been unable to find a tv out option anywhere in settings, and i am wondering if it should just work when connected automatically or is there a setting somewhere i have been unable to find?
Thanks for the help!
The nexus 4 does not have a MHL chip in it. You will have to get a miracast wireless display adapter or slimport cable

Can you have a flash drive and a Gamepad plugged in at the same time while charging the Nexus 7?

No. You can do two of the three. Any two combo will work but not all three at the same time.

Yes you can, using Timur's kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934722 . You will need a y-cable for it and possibly a usb-hub. I managed to plug in a keyboard, mouse and usb-stick while powering the nexus. So what you want should work too.
I have android 4.2 with the USB OTG kernel r165. Usb storage drives, mouse/keyboard and gamepads work however im trying to get a RD9700 ethernet adapter to work with no success
From what ive read the RD9700 is supported on android (albeit at usb1.1 speeds) and it should be as simple as turning wifi off, plugging it in and under settings a new 'ethernet' tab will show up. It doesnt, nor does doing a 'netcfg' in terminal emulator show any 'eth0' adapters.
Has anyone else tried an ethernet adapter? Is there some reason why it wont work on the Nexus4?

Hi, I'm wondering about this too. I got it to work on my Note 2 by compiling the kernel modules and the using 'insmod' to load them each time I needed to. I am thinking of changing to a Nexus 5 when they arrive, but USB ethernet is a must for me. Works out of the box on my N7, but sounds like it needs some work for the smaller nexus.
