Is there anyway to menu button work as a power wake up.anyone pls help this mode for our defy
Waking phone up with soft bottons wasn't possible, as all touch will disabled when phone goes sleep
(or else your phone will need to stay wake-locked and drains it's batt dry.)
A nice work around is using CM7 or CM9/10 and use Volume Rocker Wake option.

you can try waking it by volume rocker

I had try LockEnable but it did't work on Wildfire!
Why dont you flash WildPuzzle ROM it has a mod to use trackpad instead of power button
the mod only wake -ing up using trackpad. sleep still use power button.

Yes! No app can sleep phone by widget yet
ok I searched thru all threads, im trying to create a backup with clockwork. I have rooted with clockworkmod and have no clue how to get to it. I am a noob but have rooted and have flashed FROYO on my EPIC. I do have titanium backup aswell, but lookin for the other backup incase i decide to flash back to stock for the OTA FROYO. THanks, Please STEP BY STEP, Or atleast point me to a thread that tells it cause ive been searchin for a hour now
Hold Down the power,volume up,volume down and camera all at the same time and you are know in clockwork.
Also to navigate in it use the voulume up down and camera to select.
Also you can use the keyboard dpad with the enter button for select.
Another nice button combo is camera,power and volume up i think is a soft reset.

that isnt working for some reason, just reboots back to up. I was holding volume rocker, power and camara. do i have to do something before i shut down? or start to reboot when the lights are on after shutting down??

When the phone is on hold:
Power
Camera
Volume up
Volume Down
It will work believe me..
Just keep trying sometimes if you miss a key it will activate the reboot button combo..
If your phone is off: Hold camera power and volume down i think...
The phone has to be powered off. And then you hold volume down button, camera and power button until you are at the green cwm menu.

no it doesnt it can be on and you can hold both volume rockers, camera and power and it will take you to clockwork with out power off..
But yes your way works with the phone off..
For Sh*ts and giggles I thought I'd try both methods mentioned here and yes they both work.

Holy balls the double volume rocker thing does work. Good thing I tested that before I said he was wrong lol
When I have my phone in my pocket, I find that it often wakes up and drains the battery because the power button gets pressed with it moving around. Can we disable this and have ONLY the home button wake the device?

Try Villain Rom. Once you've installed, there are tweaks to prevent either the home or power buttons from waking the phone. That's the only way I know at the moment:

Use a case mate barely there case, when fitted the power button is now resesed do unlikely to get pressed by accident

Is there a possibility to change the hardware button to wake up Miui? On this moment all of the hardware buttons wake up Miui, but I would like only the power button to have this function. This because of the unnecessary wake ups in my trousers.

Power button is known to have issues when you press it to many times! So i am trying to avoid the Power button...
I always wake up my phone with Windows Button which is good cause it is in the middle of the phone and not on the side. But that's just my opinion!
I've a nexus 7 3g tilapia rooted whit cm 10.1. After i press power button or wait for screen off, is impossible wake up the screen whit only one press of the power button. I've to hold for several second the power button and sometimes the screen wake up. I've a bug report: nvavp device (Permission denied)...please help me! i don't know if it is a hardware or software issue!!
I attached a bug report file! Please help me, i'll be grateful

in this case I used the volume buttons to wake up the display, but it happens the same with the power button
OH YES!!! New ROM called "nexus 7 don't wake up after screen off!!! I am so excited! Where can I download this gem? I want to flash it right now!!!

It's not possible, i did some tests and i noticed that the volume buttons work like power button only for a few second after screen off.
I've remapped keys and i've assigned to key 114 (volume down) the value POWER WAKE. It works fine only for a few second...it is as if the system stops feel the volume keys a few seconds after turning off the screen.
I tried on these occasions to join the pin's connector with a screwdriver and the screen is on .... then the power button feels right.
I'd like find a way to hear the system the volume button to hear the system the volume button after a few seconds after turning off the screen
