Spent the last couple of days learning a ton. It all started when datsyuk from CM forums pointed out the me some glaring issues with my theme. Basically, framework-res was not themed. Since then I have fixed those issues, updated the included maps to 5.0, and created an alternate version with a transparent dialer and contacts menu.
Opaque version here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ARG4VWE1
Clear version here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6CWY9H3V
I'm leaving up the new market link since it seems a popular download as well:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HRV18C74
Status Bar Instructions: Go to Settings > CM Settings > User Interface > Tweaks Extras > Select a Theme > select "STOCK_Black" and reboot! Voila!
Thanks again to datsyuk from CM forums for helping me to perfect and test this theme!
Anybody else having SERIOUS issues with the new 2.26/2.27 Market? Here's how fed up I got this week:
Clear version, Maps 5, Market 1.82(themed):

This is for the droid - not the milestone.
You get that "status 4 - aborted" error when trying to install a non milestone theme zip the same way as you would install a cm update or google apps.
The only way I know is to use Open Recovery using the steps explained by kalagas in his Kalagas Mixed Theme thread
However, if you do all that, you will still get a bootloop... since it's not a milestone theme.
But I managed to get it installed using Theme-Porter tool.
But even then, gmail and the market kept crashing... so I reverted those 2 apps to versions that don't FC on me.
Actually, I used a hacked gmail app that automatically loads images... heh

thank you very much, zeppelinrox!
nice notifications icons
just doesn't work with milestone.
testing
thanks ..
I thought this was maybe a problem with the theme I downloaded, but I've tried 5 other themes now, and it's the same story. I'm running RC1, and am using RC1 themes.
I download a theme, place it on SD, wipe cahce and dalvik, install, reboot...and nothing happens. I go into themes and the same 3 are still there...I try going through each of the 3 themes, and they aren't what I've downloaded.
So what is going on?
anyone, anyone? Bueller?
Are you trying to install themes that can be used with the theme chooser? Or are they flashable zip files? Because if they are for the theme chooser the theme is a .apk and needs to be installed like a app. You can do this using most any file explorer.

I have tried both flashing them in recovery, and installing them through the market. None of them work. You go into "theme chooser" and the same 3 are still there that show up when I've flashed the ROM.
I've tried this with the RC build, and the nightly build of CM7...none of them work.

Name the themes...it may help isolate the cause?

- Bliss
- Honeycomb
- R2D2
- Mixer
- Monochrome
- Frost
Which are zip files and which are apk files?
Mixer and honeycomb alpha v3 are apk files installed as true blue stated earlier. R2D2 is zip file that is flashed but not sure if working on nightlies since RC1. Others I do not know of....

Honeycomb is the only one I've gotten from the market...the rest I've flashed in recovery.

The honeycomb theme from the market is an adw theme. The others that you flash will not show in the theme Chooser. Hope that clarifies it for you.

Oh, ok well I'll try that.
But that doesn't explain why when I flash things, it doesn't show up in theme chooser.

Flashed zipped files do not show up in theme Chooser. Theme Chooser themes are apk files.
Adw themes show up in adw settings and choose theme.
In short, tmo/cm7 theme engine (theme Chooser app) only accepts apk files themed for this engine. Some are on the market and some are available through searching.

ok with that being said
how would you explain the themes not showing up once they are flashed through cwm?
for example for me...i flash Bliss in cwm for cm7 RC1 and as soon as the phone boots it shows the new theme
but in Bballs case the new theme he flashed doesnt show at all...even though he followed the same steps as i did...flashing Bliss in cwm on cm7 RC1
any idea why its not working for him?

Let's think it through. All things being equal prior to flashing the theme, what possible causes are there? First, bad download. Second, things are not equal prior to flash of theme. E.g., some settings or theme each phone has set is different (system or cyanbread for example). Some ideas??
Where is this bliss theme?

Ok. What theme do you have selected in theme Chooser? Likewise for the other phone.

well i know for at least me
i flashed Bliss on a fresh cm7 install...so the system theme was the current theme...other than that it was a normal install that i flashed Bliss
now Bball may be different...but im pretty sure he tried also on a fresh cm7 install...but i wont assume...im sure he can fill you in on what he did
EDIT: just to clarify my fresh install was cm7 RC1 and nothing else...no faux kernels or other icons or themes....flashed cm7 RC1 then after boot and initial setup i booting back into cwm and flashed the Bliss theme

Hi
I've got some problem with my miui rom on my Nexus.
When I apply theme , none of them are applying. System tell me that it was successful but only the icons in the loader are changing. No homescreen or notification bar...
Is there a way to reset the theme on miui?
Sent from my Nexus One
Please anyone?
Sent from my Nexus One
Did you try rebooting your phone? Try changing each part of the theme separately. Try a different theme. Flash the newest version of MIUI.
You're in the wrong sub-forum
Go to the Dev section and post in the MIUI thread for the rom you are using
Since I update my Nexus 4 to mahdi 2.7 (29/7) I can't apply any theme to the Google keyboard. I'm using theme chooser from cm11 to apply the themes, all other features work great, the only one not working is the keyboard style.
Anyone having the same issue?
I searched for similar threads here on xda and only found one and there's no solution.
EDIT: I solved the issue doing a clean install of the rom.
It is because of your rom. Try another rom, like cm or pa and all your problems are fixed
I used theme chooser since mahdi was 2.6 and it worked always...
Hello all! Please, help me. No working theme store on motion rom v16.8
