The headphone jack is making my N4 work like if I am using headphones but its not plugged at all.
I already cleaned it and everything and still bad.
Any advice on how to disable headphone jack o if it can be fixed differently

I have an issue with my nexus 4 where the only audio that comes out through the speakers are notifications/alarm. All audio works just fine when headphones are plugged in.....any suggestions? Work fine until a couple minutes ago.
Headphones-All sounds work.
No Headphones- only notifications and Alarm work.

Dumb suggestion, but clear out all recent apps. I had an issue like yours (but no sound through head phones either) and I found that the stupid chive app was goofing up the sound output. When I clear that app out of recents, I got my sound back. Not saying that's your issue, but worth a try.

Try it. Got soundabout app from app store and set it to speaker and it worked fine. So I'm assuming phone is stuck in headphone mode.

A little further clarification... He also needs to be rooted and running a kernel that supports fauxs sound mods.

Has anyone found or moved over the desk cradle? I can't find another desk cradle app that uses the external 3.5 mm headphone jack.

I dropped the stock desk clock app into system/app and have been using it since I flashed eg04. Not sure of an alternative, seemed that the external speaker was handled well by it so I never bothered.
Peace,
Ray

What settings did you use, I tried that and it didn't work. I pulled the desk cradle from a froyo package... could you post the apk file?

Are you wanting the sound to come from the desk dock 3.5 jack instead of the phone jack (through the usb port)? I use Dock Sound Redirector from the market. It's pretty simple and works fine.

Not sure if this was posted but this is something I've been wanting since the S2

The sound quality is amazing in comparison to playing it through Bluetooth or headphone jack.
You are also able to make calls while the music is playing!
Also it charges your phone obviously.

Hello guys I have a quick question.. I have a problem with my speakers.. Phone and headphone jack... when I plug in my headphones the music starts and the beat sounds nice and the but I can't hear the voice.. It's always faded but the beat sounds fine.. Also the onboard speaker does the same but not as nearly as severe but a reboot fixes the onboard speaker and goes back to normal.. Is my headphone jack done for? Again the beat sounds fine but voice is non existent.. Is weird. Thanks in advance.

Do you an app that adjusts the sound? like an equalizer app or sound app? When i had a galaxy s3 if i had it in rock mode or anything other than stock the sound was not as clear as in stock mode.
A similar thing happened with my iPod Touch. It turned out to be the headphones. Maybe try some new ones? I am not sure of the onboard speaker problem however.

Yeah I tried my computer speakers and sound works but still sounded a bit funny.. Not enough to notice though.. I'll check a different pair of headphones when I can.. And yeah I did flash one of those sound mods from the nexus 4 apps section but I uninstalled it..
