I got the update normally. I am not rooted nor have I ever been. But ever since 4.2.2 updates to apps fail and I cannot download from the play store. Anyone else having these problems?

We're going to try two methods here to get you back in shape.
First.
Quick toggle pull down
Settings
Apps
Swipe left to the "all" catagory
Scroll down till you find "Google Play Store"
Force stop
Clear data
Now try the play store
If that doesn't work
Try
Quick Toggle pull down
Settings
Scroll down to accounts
Tap Google
Tap your account
Tap the settings menu (three dots in the upper right)
Remove Account
Back out to the settings screen
Add Account
Google
Sign in with your Google account
Try the play store
I had to delete my main account, reboot, and readd my account to fix this issue.

Hi everybody howcome when I go in calendar and try to add a event it says you have no calendar? Can somebody help me. I download a calendar app from market gave me same message.

Did you create one from Google Calendar? Log onto your gmail account and create a calendar then sync it to your phone.
Lol sounds confusing. What about contacts I saved 2 but its not on my contacts howcome?

It happened to me when I first got my Nexus S. Even though I linked gmail and the calendar wouldn't allow me to add an event until a few days after using the phone while synced to Google account.
Sync Google account and do a soft reboot and if it doesn't work right away, let it run for a couple days. Give that a try. Good luck.

I bought my wife the new Nexus S 4g today. The guy at the sprint store helper her set up the phone even thought I did not want him too. Oh well it is his job. Thing is she had never setup Google Calendar because she had a BlackBerry before that. So when I got home I setup her Google calendar but it is not syncing to her new phone. When I go to Setting > Accounts & Sync > her google account there is not a Calendar option. What do I need to do I don't want to have to reset her phone. Are there any other options? Thanks.
Odd. Calendar should be one of the defaults syncs. Have you tried running the calendar app and see if the gmail account shows up there?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I had tried running the calendar app but nothing shows up I even enter an event online thinking may bring it down but nothing. If you try to add an event on the phone it just says "You have no calendars". It is almost like the phone did not sync all the way to her account. I really don't want to reset her phone to factory default and have her set everything up again. She would not want to do that. She has already change the wallpaper all the screens downloaded apps, and changed ring tones.
I meant open the calendar app, press the menu button, press More then on Calendars and make sure the gmail account is listed there.
Also, this might be a stupid question but you're connected with Wifi or mobile network (3G, 2G, etc) right? Your phone signal bars should appear green if you're connected to Google's servers. If it's not green, you won't be able to sync.
I go to Calendar app > More > Calendars and there is nothing there, just have an Ok and cancel button. I have been on 3g, 4g, and wifi and nothing on any of them. Yes the the bars a green at the top.
I doubt you need to reset to factory so not to worry about that. Maybe you just have to wait a day or two. Either that or bring it back to the store and have them figure it out.
Might do that thanks. Hopefully it will work itself out.
You can also try rebooting the phone if you haven't already.
already tried that

maybe you should try and get the stock calendar.apk and re-install it...???
Ok I talked to Sprint and they said that is easiest way was to make sure that the phone was backed up to Google and just do a Factory Wipe. Basically wipe the phone and start over. So I did and that fixed the problem. So anyone who gets a new google phone and does not have all the google apps setup do that before you get the phone activated. I hope someone finds a better way because that is a major oversight on googles part. But everything is working great now.
Not sure whats going on but it will not see any songs that I uploaded from my PC (2000 songs). There is no button to "sync" the device in either the Music app or in settings/account/gmail. I've installed the app 3 times with the same results. Is there a trick or something? Running GB 2.3.3
Silly question, but did you try a reboot? I have heard that has helped some.

Downloading the app from the market via the phone gave me the problem. I removed the app then from my laptop I pushed the install via the market website and then everything worked. very odd.
Odd indeed

I noticed I have to give it some time to sync after I install it. Also there IS a check box in android accounts settings to enable syncing.
Yup. Enable syncing. I use the power control widget so I only sync when I'm listening to my music.

I've noticed that if it does not sync right away (or after a few hours), Then clear the data on the Google music app. To do so: Go to settings>Applications>Manage Applications and find Google music, then select clear data. Once that is finished go back into Google music and you should be able to pull up the menu and select settings. Then just select your gmail account again and it should start syncing almost immediately.

thats exactly what i have to do too. have to do it just about every time i install music beta.
Yea, I'm having issues too. Shouldn't Music come up in Account & Sync in settings? I don't seem to have it listed anymore.
Thanks. Clearing data fixed the problem.
Just for anyone else having a problem, an issue I ran into was everytime I flashed a new nightly for CM7, it counted as a new device being added to my account. Eventually I was maxed out on allowed devices (think it might be 8 but don't remember) and it wouldn't sync new songs for me anymore. I had to clear the devices from the music beta page itself to fix the problem.

That worked for me. I can sync again. Thank you!
I think the Google music app sucks. Thats right, it sucks.
I have tried deleting the app from my phone and my pc, then reloading.
What happens to me is when I reload everything, it syncs the same old songs. I have deleted them from everywhere, changed the folder, deleted the folder and created a new one.....same music.....that doesnt exist any more. When I select the folder to sync, it shows the correct number of songs for the new folder but then syncs a different number.....and music that doesnt even exist on my CPU anymore.
Makes no sense to me.
Also, theres no way to delete or hide a song on my device. I know theres a menu choice to hide unavailable but that doesnt work either.
Severe FAIL on Google. BOOOOOOOOOOOO
I had this problem a lot. After installing Music from the Market place, go into App Management and "Clear Data". When you load Music again, it will have a settings menu now to select your account. Although, I think this issue was fixed on newer GB versions because I didn't have to do it when I fresh installed on .605.
Just another Android glitch
"I've noticed that if it does not sync right away (or after a few hours), Then clear the data on the Google music app."
I just crossed over to Android and got the GS2. Figured I'd get one of the flagship devices. I figured Android must be good; it's so popular.
I've never used a phone with so many work-arounds, glitches... needed to download so many programs just for a loud & repeating calendar alarm... stores photos to 10 different folders.
Now I have to clear data for every sync I want to do w/ my clouded music? Why didn't I just get an iPhone? The bigger question is, how is it that Android has repeat customers? Maybe Android buyers are all first-time smartphone users and don't know any better. These types of bugs and glitches common to Android are not standard far on iPhone or even my older Nokia N-Series and BlackBerrys.

After removing the google services framework data to try to force the 4.2.1 update, my Nexus 4 has gone from my Google Play devices.
I removed the data from my Nexus 7 to do the same and that also vanished but came back a short time later.
The nexus 4 still isn't back after a full day. I often install from the website if installing a few things but can't now.
(And I still haven't go the update)
You might have to log in again from your N4. Try this:
Go into your Settings
Tap Google under Accounts
Tap *********@gmail.com
Tap the 3 dot menu and Remove Account
Now go back to settings and add a new account

Made sense but that didn't bring it back
Hello
I'm using lg nexus 4 , running stock android kitkat 4.4 (not rooted), from few days I'm getting a issue when I press share button on some Google apps such as (Chrome, Google Drive, Play store , Play news stand and YouTube ) I was redirecting directly to gmail app instead of getting list of apps to share with .
And some other Google apps are working fine such as keep .
For temporary solution I disabled gmail app and using inbulit email app .
Please help me if anyone knows how to fix it.
@vikasreddy830 good question, should be an error with the ShareActionProvider handled in the framework-res.apk .. if i remember right?!
i think you can reset it via:
'Reset app preferences' under Settings->Apps->(menu, the three dots in the corner)
Maybe stupid question but till now I couldn't find a way to bring my google bookmarks to built in "Internet" browser!
Inside bookmarks it only show "local" whereas on all my previous phones it synced on his own with google and brought them!
