Hi everyone. I have an "English version" (not Chinese) HD2 purchased in Hong Kong, but the keyboard is not a US alyout and its nearly impossible to use.
It has too many buttons and stuff not needed including PinYin input support making all too crammed up and all buttons smaller. I have big fingers and typing here is a nightmare.
Is there a mod or application to get rid of this and install a simpler and basic US layout? Also, is there a way to get rid of the XT9 input button? I keep hitting it by mistake and its ON by default every time the keyboard is started despite I configured it under options to be always OFF.

I have the same issue. I would like to know the answer. IME might be a clue.
There is a great app Big Buttons Keyboard Standard
It has huge soft-keys,that are really comfortable to use. But it seems author is not supporting that project any more and the only language available is english
so, the question is - can somebody map a Cyrillic letters for that, is it possible??

Big Buttons Keyboard is still in development. We recently added word prediction, etc. in the Big Buttons Keyboard Deluxe version.
Cyrillic support is on our to do list. Please stay tuned.

I have AmeriCan' SD version on my HD2, nice build, but I would like to add dictionaries from languages on the phone's keyboard. Does anyone know how to and where to get those dictionaries? It can be for the normal Gingerbread keyboard or the HTC IME keyboard..

Hi, I recently bought a logitech bluetooth keyboard for android devices and I was wondering how I could type spanish letters with accents using it. Is there a way I can map a combination of keys to do this? I don't want to set the keyboard to spanish because the spanish keyboard layout is different than a standard english one. I also do not have a rooted device. Thanks!

This should do the trick, you don't need the device rooted. I found your post as I was looking exactly for the same.
