LCD is attached to digitizer. You can get one for around 200$ off of eBay slightly cheaper to send it to lg. You also could wait 6 months for the price to go down, or buy a new phone all together.

I dropped my phone and the screen is cracked. Touch and display are fine, it looks like just the glass is damaged.
I have tried to find out about repair but everyone I ask is struggling to get hold of the lcd + digitizer for the white gs2.
Anyone have any advice, or where to get hold of a white screen?

the white gs2's screen is the same as the black one

No, the bezel and screen and digitizer comes as one. So you have to specifically buy the white screen for the white gs2.
Anyone have any experience with mobilephonedoctor.co.uk?
They are offering to replace the screen for £129.99 !!

FYI, went to official Samsung service centre (Phoneland High Wycombe) and they charged me £120 for parts and fitting. Also, their fitting maintains your warranty...
get past

I have managed to separate all the glass from the digitizer on mine with a smashed screen...........it is possble to do!!!
Hey everone. I bought a Galaxy s4 recently about two weeks ago. I love this phone alot and had not bought a screen protector or a cover yet (boy was that a mistake). One day will walking my dog, I was talking to a friend. The phone was on my ear. Suddenly, my dog jerked really hard and the phone fell out of my hand. The glass is cracked, well more like shattered. Im not very good with phones and would like to ask if it is Cracked Glass or Cracked LCD ? The phone turns on and works perfectly like the first day I bought it. The touchscreen also works on top of the cracked glass. I have seen some LCD's on Ebay for around $200 which I cant afford. But when I searched " Samsung Galaxy s4 Glass " I came up with some results that were far cheaper. So does anyone know what it is ? Cracked Glass or Cracked LCD ? And if it is cracked glass or lcd, where can I find a replacement for cheap (I live in the U.S.). Thank you all.

From my understanding the amoled display and glass are glued together as a unit, if either one is cracked you must replace the whole screen
Yep unfortunately you must get the whole front panel replaced.

my phone fell out of my pocket while getting out of the car and cracked the bottom half of the screen, the LCD is fine but touch doesnt work on the bottom half.
Do I need to buy the full $100 digitizer/lcd thing on ebay or will the $20 front glass work?
And are the ebay screens actual LG parts or chinese knockoffs with crap LCDs?

You need the whole $100 digitizer/LCD. Blame fused glass, nowadays phones have the glass fused to the LCD.

Does the screen recognize touches?
You can get only the screen, but you need to extract the digitizer from the broken part. It's possible, just very annoying. I'd say go with the full set, cause it's easier to change. But if you're really on a tight budget, just get the screen and try your best
Go full set... But enable touch location in developers and make sure its 100% not working first

Dropped my Nexus 4 on concrete and now it has a pretty minor crack, but for whatever reason a lot of the screen doesn't work anymore, even though the crack doesn't take up that much of the screen? Should I send it in for repair or should I just get the Nexus 5 or some other phone? I'm honestly okay with the screen being cracked if I could somehow fix the digitizer so it could still detect when I touch the screen? Is that also a possibility, and how much would that cost?
You should replace the whole screen...its very hard to separate the digitizer from glass and from the lcd.
You can find a original screen assembly [with front housing] here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Touch-F...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item232abea64c
Hi guys, so my dad dropped his Nexus 4 and the screen cracked and is unresponsive. There is also a red discolored spot on the screen. I am just wondering if I need to replace only the digitizer or both the digitizer and also the LCD. Thanks guys and Happy New Year!

It's far, far easier to replace the entire front assembly. Digitizer is only $20, but it requires specialty equipment (more money) and a lot of skill to do properly (which you probably won't), Assuming only the digitizer needs replacing. The screen assembly is about $45, but still requires you to remove it from the bezel and glue it back in. $60 for one already inside a brand new bezel.
