Hey guys, I had an HD2 about 3 years ago and loved the phone. I just got a new one but Im not sure if to flash Android or Win7.
Wich one is more stable?
My daily phone is Htc Evolte rooted already. But I just got the Hd2 to play with and use it with Solavei.
Please point me to the stickies on flashing from scratch.. Because after 3 years I am rusty with the HD2.
Back then, I posted a youtube video on my HD2 running on Kumars Rom

Personally, I prefer Android.
Specifically for the market, apps, ect. Go with the one you feel more comfortable using.

You can download it from HTC developers site.
Maybe next time you can post in an existing thread like the Liberated thread seeing you are running liberated? There are stickies here too with the answer to your question.
Thanks, and I'll make sure to do that next time

you could check the wiki too
You can also download the HTC 2.1 update and install it. You would have the most recent OEM ROM.

Haha! Well, it might help if there was actually a question in your first post
But in presuming you're looking to root it, check the Development topics, lots of ROM's to choose from, guides in there to follow on step by step instructions on how to do it.
I would suggest reading through those first before asking questions though as many people ask the same questions
Yeah im familiar with roms ect but i just wanted to no if his model was compatible with visionary thanks for help dude also its branded tmobile so would i make a goldcatd before or after rooting to debrand

yep it will, before you flash a custom rom though, you need to check out the 2 s-off tools in the developent section (Radio & ENG) after you root, run both of thoes tools from your pc, you can then use rom manager to install clockworkmod recovery, then your free to install all the custom roms you want
After you install Clockwork, don't forget to take a backup of your T-Mobile ROM just in case anything happens you can flash it back to stock.
Yeah cool guys so
1. Root with visionary.
2.Permroot
3. S.off ENG
4. Install rom manager and install clockwork.
5. Flash rom?

You should get radio s-off as well as eng s-off ng
Sent from my Desire HD pocket rocket.
Then you can go on dev boards and learn about radios and things like that, but that is the stuff that can brick you're phone as my friend recently found out with his desire HD, but if you follow instructions and don't unplug half way through :L you should be fine!
I no about radios and roms im a desire user just needed help sorting my bros dhd for him

Hi all so I got an activation code from Ms and activated my device. It worked fine for the first 3weeks then xbox live started saying your live id is not working ... and marketplace says cant get info now check back in a while, and now IM stuck with no downloading and no xbox live: ( pls help, and I have a question if I install a new ROM will the activation code work more than 3 times on same account? And btw I'm using football ROM with no nodo update, THX in advance
EDIT: ONE more question guys, can I do some sort of backup for my current ROM?
You can use the same activation on the same phone no matter how many rom update you do. I'm on my 5th and it's fine still. I believe the limit is how many WP7 devices it can be used on simulataneosly which is 3.
As for the Live thing. This did happen to me but seemed to just sort it self out eventually. But if you are planning on changing your Rom anyway just do that.
Roms installed through Zune will auto-reinstall on new rom. Other will have to be done manually.
THX for your reply

nope, you cant, at the moment you can manually backup data from your apps, for example, i have a program that tracks my MPG of my car, i can backup that data, somebody is working on a way of making that easier. But as for backing up everything, nope there isnt anything you can do.

You can back up a WP7, but do not know about the HD2-WP7 roms, but there is a thread on the real wp7 back-up here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103011
May be of some use????

Do not run via SD.
Install NAND.
If you want WM, then install it back...
The risk is that you'll brick your phone...
Read the post for the Android version you would install. Everything is explained in the posts.
If you have any questions use the "Search" button here in the forum, or Google it..
If you have any questions you must search the forum at least 8 times, and google your question at least 6 times.
These are the unwritten rules....
Good luck

This page should have all your answers. If you're looking to use sense ROMs, I recommend changing to the DZ hboot as it is necessary to run newer Sense ROMs (3+ i think).

Assuming you know adb well...
Yes, you have to downgrade it first then root it. I suggest you using these guides here at cyanogen for downgrade and root
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/TMobile_G2:_Firmware_Downgrade_(Gingerbread)
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/TMobile_G2:_Rooting
Reason: The web page it self is a heck shorter than the one at XDA.
Just please click the thing it read it, it's short.
Once you have done these things you should have rooted Froyo with CWM Recovery 3. While it's an adequate version I suggest you update it first (Play Market to the rescue) then do an Nandroid backup, just in case.
One thing you need to know: When you're in CWM Recovery, you need to press the trackpad to select options.
Now you have to get a Desire Z Hboot. I recommend this guide
http://www.virtuousrom.com/2011/06/t-mobile-g2-users-migrating-to-desirez.html
Once you have the Desire Z Hboot, you can use Sense ROMs. Stable ROMs would be any GB ROMs (the Desire Z/ G2 is pretty well-supported here), like this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1401560
Hope this helps.
Thank u very muuch. Ill be doing this in an hour. And are there any other sense roms??
