I've got Titanium Backup installed for a secondary user, but I can't get SU to work in this profile. My N10 is running stock 4.2.1, unlocked, rooted, and running KTManta kernel. TB works perfectly on the primary account.
Any ideas?

This topic has already been discussed already. You need to flash Superuser 3.3. I have sucessfully done this on my N10 however every time I restore my wife's profile in TB it messes her profile up. I think there need to be an update to TB. It seems to get confused when restoring shared files between the two users.
do a little searching next time before you just ask a question.

This is my first Android phone, so I'm not sure how the backing up procedure works. Is there a way to back up all settings and apps (including paid apps) so I can restore it afterward?
I've rooted my phone when I first got it, through the unrevoked v1 method. Updated when Sprint gave me the option. Found out I shouldn't have done that, as I lost root access. I've been reading threads on how to set my EVO back to stock and hopefully this will restore everything. Thereby also being able to root once again.
If it means, I can root which method is recommended to also receive the latest updates.
I hope that I didn't lose root access for good.
Also curious, don't want to have to reinstall all the apps and lose the paid ones.
This has been a big question for me too.
Never rooted or modded a phone at all until yesterday, just made my first post here a minute ago.
I rooted and unlocked nand with simpleroot, then installed the damagecontrol rom, everything went ok. Got a lot of help by watching the video links. The biggest thing I was after was the wireless tether, which I have now. I've flashed the rom a couple time since and loose all my apps, contacts, and history every time. I get the contacts back easy through google sync. The apps I have been able to reinstall, the market has remembered my paid apps and lets me re-install no problem. This is still a hassle though. After doing some reading it seems people are using Titanium backup for the apps, and handy backup for the call history. I just installed and backed up everything, haven't tested out the restore yet.
Running HV 1.05a and the corresponding kernal.
After installing 1.05 first and then the kernal everthing works fine.
Install es file manager and 3 other apps and everything is good.
All the sudden the built in superuser denies everything even though it worked just a little bit ago.
From playing around it looks like the problem comes when I do a full backup using cwm and then restore it.
Anyone run into something like this... Someone said they uninstalled the built in su and installed the one from the market and it fixed it. I can't find how to uninstall it.
Also I go into su and delete all permission and then when I run another app it don't prompt me to allow or disallow.
Any Help..? Tired of rebuilding just to get to some point and it breaks again. Thanks for your time.
Same thing happened with me.I flawless a stock ota full from Acer with recovery.then installed the latest Acer recovery.then used its backup /restore and works well. There was a bug messing up the backup it seems.I can confirm it now works for me
A bit of a hassel it was but a small price to pay for messing with our tablets
Good luck
I updated to Taboonay 2.1 last week and every thing was working just fine. After the install I created a backup. Today my WiFi stopped working and after playing with it for over an hour I decided to perform a restore to the most recent backup.
After the restore my WiFi is working again but it appears that I have lost my root. All attempts to "re-root" the Iconia have failed. Titanium Backup can not obtain root. Acer Recovery can not obtain root. Iconia Root can not obtain su permissions.
Any ideas? The Iconia is running just fine with Toboonay 2.1 but I would like to get root privileges back. Thanks!
I was having a similar problem (also using Taboonay 2.1b). I restored a backup, then started getting "permission denied", even for those apps which were clearly labelled as "allowed" in superuser.
In the end I solved it by going through CWM and reinstalling 2.1 and 2.1b. Note that I did not do a factory reset, as it it's the same rom I was already running (I did clear the cache and the dalvik cache). That way all my data and settings were kept.
After a reboot, su was working again.

If you restore you backup made with cwm, the same thing will happen again.
Someone said deleating the android.secure.image form the backup set before restore fixes the problem. Not tried yet
Love to find out if there is a way to fix the loosing root when restoring from a backup. Whats the use of having the restore function if it makes us lose root?
Fixed
Reinstalled 2.1 then 2.1b and everything is back to root normal. Thank you-

Give this a test, you need to anyway. Restore your cwm full backup and see if you loose root again, bet you do. I have tried several roms and always get this problem. Would like to find a fix.
Using the guides on these forums, last night I decided to root, full backup, and flash a ROM and kernal. Everything went very smooth.
My question is, if I decide to switch to some other ROMS to see which one I like, what happens to all the apps I add in between the flashes? Do they all get erased when I switch. If so, what do I need to do in order to save them?
Thanks for the advice, and thank you to everyone who has writing these great guides.
titanium backup. You can backup whatever apps you want then restore them after you flash a new rom. Some system apps may not work when you restore them, but the majority of 3rd party apps work just fine.
Thank you for that info.
Also if you sync your market account when you flash a new ROM, all the apps will get downloaded and automatically installed onto your fresh ROM the first time you connect to your wifi.
I must also note though that there was a ROM or two that didn't do this. I think it might have been Thor's ROM, but I can confirm that I just flashed lightspeed last night and all the apps were automatically downloaded.
I just finished backing up with TWRP and installing the latest nightly build of CM11. I logged into my Google account okay, but for some reason it's not doing the automatic install of all my apps like it usually does when I install a new ROM. Odd. Okay, that's annoying, but whatever. I did a backup with Titanium, too, so I guess I can do a full restore of the apps with that, instead.
However, when I try to use AdAway, it tells me that I don't have root. I install Root Checker, and sure enough, no root! Well, that should be easy enough to fix, I think. I run off to towelroot.com, and then download and install Towelroot. But when I try to root again, it tells me that my phone's not supported! My phone is a SM-G900T, and I had rooted it successfully with Towelroot about a month ago!
Any ideas? How can I re-root my phone with CM11?
Got it. I kept finding articles asking how to unroot after installing CM. It's just a setting in CM, though (under Developer Options). Root is off by default; so, I just had to turn it on.
