Some questions to you ;) (Samsung Galaxy Y)

Hi I'm lipka and I'm new at this forum. As you know I have the Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 2 Gb. I have a few questions for you and I hope I can get an answer but when i do not get it and will be sad . I apologize in advance to maybe stupid questions that I will ask you once, but I will mention that I've never had a phone with Android operating system, and Y is the first device I also ask for your understanding. Even in advance sorry for my bad English but I'm from Europe (Poland) and I used google translator. Okay so let's start :
1) What is this whole "rooting phone", and upload it and what is "ROM"?
2) How to change software to the "newest"? (I have XXLE1 ( i have very much lags :/) and i want to change software)
3) How to upload the whole "ROM's" to my phone?
4) What is the best kernel to choose? I ask because there are literally a lot and I do not know which one to choose
5) Which "ROM" the most speed up my phone, improve his performance and will look the best of all ? Give me your's proposites
6) Is it true that the glass front of our very mobile draws after prolonged use?
And the last one: 7) Is the two gigabyte memory card good enough to me that I need to buy better?

Welcome to xda
Rooting is gaining acess to your phones OS and being able to change it
Update your phones firmware like this settings>about phone>Software Update or maybe use odin
As for the roms i heard hyperion is the best but you might want to install supercharger
Installing a rom is easy peasy you go in the recovery when you turn off the phonr. Ita power+volume up+home key buttons ... Hold them until the logo dissapears. And voula your in the recovery.

Thanks man , really thanks 2 you I'm istalling now this ROM . You got for me "plus" : D . And there is the one thing , Can u tell me something about those kernel's ? Which is the best ? What about the memory Card ? Is it good or i must change it to better ?

the best is to test all than u have an expierence and can choose whats the best for u

As CALIBAN666 said, test all of them. They are all used for some particular purpose or other, so you never know which one you might end up liking. Go through their features first.
And about the first post, those were stupid questions. But it dosen't matter to us as new users always come here and we welcome them. What bothers us that threads like this one are created again and again. That's why we advise new users to read the stickies of the forum and search before posting.

1st put update.zip thn installed it
thn updated keranl and custom ROM by CMW is tht right ????
but now my phone not running ! just got power on screen samsung galaxy y GT-s6102

Did you do a data & cache wipe before flashing the ROM? If not, then the phone will brick. Find information on how to unbrick here, if you still do not understand, then post in the thread and people will help you.

tried to install Evo X 2.1 everything done no errors but phone not running

[Q] Partition sd card SGY S5360

Hello guys, I followed the developement of that phone on other forum and one day, someone posted a new rom called JellyBlast V3, I was really excited of that because I really enjoy custom rom for the rapidity and graphic, well, so my problem is:
I have a micro sd hc 16gb and I wanted to partition it, i followed few guides but without succes, my phone memory is still blocked at 20mb and I can't install nothing...I think I do something wrong but I don't know what..someone can help me to fix this problem?
There maybe something usefull of my phone
Build Version : JellyBlast v3.0.4
Kernel : I think is kuro kernel 2.6.35.7
I really hope someone can help me for that. Sorry if I've done something wrong

After partitioning...ur internel memory increases bt doesnt show..
To have a look..open link2sd..
Press menu button nd press storage..
U will see it there..
Plus my advice...
Remove the update of those apps which u dont use such as maps and youtube etc..all the pre installed apps..

I will do that now, maybe it help a bit.
The error of full phone memory pop out i have partitioned the sd correctly but I don't know why this problem is still here...

Btw there's no use of partitioning if u dnt have link2sd..
Its the main key...

I have link2sd preinstalled thanks to this custom rom, now I will try to download some random app, then I will re-post for issues.

So your internal memory's maximum is 20 mb or is it once you've installed the rom the rom takes all the memory leaving you with 20 mb?
If it's the first one, try clearing cache, data, dalcik cache before flashing
If it is the second situation, have you installed any apps? Move all of them to sd card? Link to sd seems to move apps back into internal memory for me too, for some unknown reason.

Try to 'link' not clear dalvik cache in menu button...will free up 30 to 40 mb internal menory....!!"

Umm guys im sorta new to paritioning and i went through guides like carldeancatabays but i couldnt really get it....could u guys like spell the process out and how to use it....coz last time i tried to move the fb app to sd card viz link to sd ( redircted via normal appstosd) and i softbricked sooo plzz help!
Also if u could explain the benefits!

Go into link2sd if u did your setup properly you should see a command called create link when you open a app then simply create a link and you'll see a menu come up tick everything

I've already made a thread asking if anyone wants to take a shot at modifying the internalSD/externalSD swap script that is confirmed working on the Galaxy S3 mini. I've played around with the script myself and it's not working.

i want it 2 would be helpful in future

I would be very interested in this mod also.
Been using Foldermount now and that also doesn't work, just like directorybind.
Contacted the developer and he's going to ssh into my phone tonight to make a workaround for this issue, becouse he doesn't own this phone
Hope he finds a fix becouse of he does it would also be a way to get the internal sd swapped to external mod working on this device I guess.

i have samsung s6102. i try to update my phone's rom or kernel, but i think it's not proper done by me. After update i feel critical problem. my problem is when i start my android it's show me "SAMSUNG GALAXY Y DUOS YOUNG S6102" and than after automatically restart. Please help me what to do ?

That is called a 'bootloop'.
Simply flash a stock firmware and u should be able to get out of it.

I already try to solve the "bootloop" but it's not work for my s6102. I also check that my cellphone's battery level is more than 90%. i also follow your all rules that provided by you to me in last answer link's. unfortunately i also the same problem of my mother's phone and also in my father's phone. Actually we have three same model mobile s6102 in our family. I try to update new ROM in all phones. and now all phone have in "bootloop". Please help me what i do ??

Try wipe data and wipe cache. Bootloop may go out.
