I love my galaxy nexus. So much in fact i bought an s3 and after a couple of months went back to my nexus.
Is it worth the upgrade/leaving verizon?

Maybe. Probably. I dunno.

In my opinion, yes! The Nexus 4 has much better top of the line specs. The specs of the Galaxy Nexus are starting to get outdated. The best part of the N4 is the price.

I would look into the coverage on other carriers first. I love the Nexus 4 but T-Mobile is just awful in my area.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I would. You would save a lot of money plus the nexus 4 is an awesome phone.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I've been happy since I made the switch. The nice thing is that with the specs of the nexus 4 it will still be relevant a year from now IMHO. It's not like buying a phone only to have something come out a week later that's better.
Plus I get great coverage on T-mo... better than Sprint and Verizon. Of course that depends on your area. And if you're in an area that has a cell carrier that uses LTE band 4 you can always open that up on the phone. However, the HSPA+ has produced great speeds in my area, greater than 10mb down on average.
Highly recommended phone, so much that I ordered one for my wife a few days ago.

Hi Guys,
Today I sold my Nexus S to my friend who develops an amazing new app.
They needed an ICS device that they can afford. After testing their app myself for a while, they convinced me to sell them the phone :crying:.
I don't know which new device I would buy (Gnex, S3 or One X), but I will definitely miss this amazing community of developers and people who are willing to help anytime.
Thanks and see you at your next phone forum...
I say buy a okish phone and wait for new phones to come out. They will me more up to date and can compete with next iphone

I've used both, apply would have to basically fit a desktop pc into a phone to make the hox and gs3 irrelevant

They compete, but their the first phones of the "new generation" . Just wait till newer models come out in like the next couple months.

I'm getting someone a phone for Christmas and it's between the Skyrocket (really S2 lte here in Canada) or the S3. Here's my problem: I can get the S3 for zero dollars thru futueshop, but they are also having a deal where you can get an S2Lte for zero as well WITH a $150 gift card bonus.
Which is the better deal?
On one hand, the S3 is the newer device, but on the other, the S2 LTE is still relevant and that gift card is tempting
Which would you pick?

For $200 you get a tablet with pure andriod, great display, prefect form factor, fast updates, great dev support (if you plan on rooting), great for gaming ect. I got this after I passed my Galaxy Tab 10.1, and never looked back.

The deciding factors for me were the price, the "pure android" experience, and the ability to easily unlock/root the device. If any of those appeal to you, then how could you go wrong? Not to mention what the others have said, great gaming, great display, etc, etc...
Yes i would root it before i installed an app Lol..and your right.. So i guess I will be getting me a 32 gig nexus 7 today.. None of the stores around here have the 200 dollar one so 250 is still reasonable.. Are they still doing the 20 dollar play store card or whatever?

Honestly I don't think the Nexus 5 is worth giving up the Nexus 4 just yet unless you are in dire need of the 32gb space which I guess most of you are. I think I'll hold on to my Nexus 4 for one more year and then make the leap to the Nexus 6 or whatever they'll call it.
I think Google will support the N4 for at least one more year and if not we always have these lovely devs.
What are y'all thoughts? PLEASE NO TROLLING OR DISRESPECTFUL COMMENTS

I guess it depends on what features are most important to you but to me the next Nexus must blow this phone completely out of the water before I trade it in. I mean don't get me wrong but I would of definitely purchased the Nexus 5 if I didn't have the Nexus 4

Completely agree. As for the fragile thing you only hear from the complainers. You never hear from the happy people.
Look after your phone and you'll not have a problem. Never understood how phones end up in toilets is it really necessary.

I get that but I wouldn't say any large smartphone has any building site in mind. That's what those cases that are bulky and look way over protective for the everyday person are for

You do have a point but keep in mind some users may not have the money or may not even know where to get a case for the N4. Idk. I'm glad I don't fall under the "Nexus 4 is fragile" category. I love the design though.

If I were to guess I'd say the price tag might start at around $380 for the 16gb maybe even more. To me it just isn't worth it if you have a Nexus 4 already.

Not worth it for me ether. I've never been one for upgrading every single year I don't see the point in paying that much to do the same thing but slightly quicker.
I tend to upgrade every 2-3 years
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
In my opinion, it will be the same price as the Nexus 4 was on release.. I don't think there is anything that looks like it is going to be more expensive than the components were when the Nexus4 came out. If it is cheap enough, I would be happy to upgrade once a year, sell the old phone and be only a little bit out of pocket

I think the key indicators of it being slightly more expensive than the N4 is the 4.9 inch screen, 1080p slightly larger battery and pressure sensor (whatever that is). I could be wrong but I'm willing to bet it will be slightly more.

To me there's not much of a major update to the successor (Nexus 5) for me to dish out more money.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It depends on what you use your phone for on weather it will be an upgrade.
For instance I use my phone quite often for playing my old psx games so the extra storage is a godsend.
Also I prefer to play them using opengl graphics as they look so much better however currently opengl only runs single threaded so it can be quite laggy.
If the nexus 5 does include the rumoured 2.3ghz s800 then it would provide a massive improvement to the framerates and would be a great upgrade for me
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
My solution is really easy for this problems. Since Google doesn't sell devices here through the Play Store, I fall under the pricing of LG, which will be ridiculously high as always, so even if I wanted to purchase this phone, I couldn't for an affordable price.
I'm glad they are keeping a leash on my finances.

I love my Nexus 4 and I complain about its fragility all the time. It's the first phone I've owned that I have had to put a bumper or a case on. I don't know any other phone that can literally slide off a table with a slight slope.
