Hello everybody, there is a "dismiss all" button on the notification shade of the nexus 4, next to quick settings, and I accidentally pressed it and it erased all my notifications. I was wondering if there is a way to restore the notifications? Thankyou in advance
The only thing I can think of is a reboot but why would you even want them back?

truth is that i am new with the cellphone and i had like 5 notifications and havent read them all and while playing i pressed the button without knowing the consequences. its not that big of a deal but it just got me curious. btw, how do i reboot my cellphone? leave the power button pressed right?
thanks anyways
happens. usually they come back after reboot. i dont know the internal rules for that but i observed they often do. anyway, you know the apps that can throw notifications, they're all listed under settings / accounts. takes you 10 sec to check them for new content.

Thankyou! i didnt know that they were listed under settings / accounts. im gonna try that soon :fingers-crossed:
well not all of them, any app can push notifications, but those that sync with your phone are usually listed there.

Rebooting can also be done by just turning it off and on again.

Locking won't work unless you go to start, Lock, then the mail and locking via the power button will work again.
That's what i meant. Start->Lock and then unlock and open email.
Not power button to turn off the screen and power button to turn it back on
Anyway, i hope it helped.

I just thought an explanation was needed. You can imagine the response would have been "but it doesn't lock when I press the button"

Hello,
My S4s (i9500) screen keeps coming on when it reaches full charge, with a notification to unplug my charger. This wakes me up in the middle of the night, I'd like the phone to remain face up during the night...is there any way to stop this from happening?
turn your phone face down?

Thanks, need an answer to my actual question though, about how to disable the screen turning on when this notification happens.

You'll have to wait for a mod. There is no stock way to do that.

1.Head into the Settings menu. Samsung's done things a little differently and changed the way the settings menu looks, so you'll need to hit the "More" tab, and then get into the Software information.
2.Look for "About device" at the bottom. Tap it.
3.Hop on down to the build number, and tap it seven times. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. You'll get a little prompt saying you're about to unlock the developer settings. Hit that button one final time -- seven! -- and they're unlocked.
Now you've got developer settings on the Galaxy S4.

Hmm this is a pretty good workaround, the screen still comes on but turns off on it's own and pretty quick. Thank you.
Guess I'll have to wait for a mod for the screen not to come on at all or to disable the beyond useless notification altogether.
If you have root, grab es file manager or root explorer or something and go to system/media/ui/ and delete whatever sounds you want deleted. Make sure to back them up if you want them back.

Hello all
I seem to have a spot of bother, I had two notifications on my device.
I Long Pressed the notification until the screen changes, Giving you a option to Snooze or press the little "i" button.
When you press Snooze, how the hell do you get your notification back?
I use Rotation to force all into Landscape.
I done the Snooze on the apps notification, and i cannot get it to re-appear, I use the notification as a quick toggle to change from Force to Auto
I also done it on ShareKM
and i cannot get neither of them Back.
Even when i go to:
Settings / Sound & Notification / App Notifications
WHen i configure to allow Heads up etc, Still nothing.
Not even after a reboot.
Its obviously not a Snooze button, its more of a Here hide this notification FOREVER!!!
Anyway has anyone got a little more experience with how this works?
I dont want to have to re-flash for the sake of 2 notifications lol

Nope never found a fix. I eventually just re flashed the ROM because I disabled SMS notifications and didn't have a choice. Now I'm being very careful around that button.

unsnoozing notifications
I suppose this is too late, but perhaps it can help someone else. I found the option to remove the notification snooze (or filter) under privacy.
Go to settings, privacy, and then filter notifications. You'll need to delete the app in the list. I had to reboot for my changes to take effect.
Ok I got 8.1 today, I like the changes and now I like this phone again !
Except the stupid Android System battery use notification.
How do you turn off this annoying notification ?
Only option it gives you is to either uninstall or force stop the apps.
I am sick of seeing this notification .
It's happened like 4 times today.

As with all offending notifications. Long press it, and turn it off

I've already done this as well, though I wish you could turn it off on specific apps. For example, it kept telling me that a certain app was using too much battery. When I opened the notification, it shows the offending app has used 0% battery, so I don't know what the deal is. So I turned off battery notifications as I could not get it to stop notifying me. But it could come in handy in the future if other apps actually are using too much battery. It appears that it's all or none with the notification though.
