Hey, not sure if anyone is having this issue.
Whenever I use any VOIP calling, like Hangouts, Skype, Google Talk and Mobile VOIP it seems that the other side is having trouble to hear what I am saying.
I tested the Microphone by taking a video and I am perfectly audible, but when using with the VOIP it isn't. Is anyone else having problems...
Sv: Microphone Issues on VOIP
It's because in some apps the back side microphone is used instead of the front mic.
Google will probably fix this in the 4.2.2 release.

LOL Google better fix it. Of they want to promote hangouts then it is a must.

Dears,
I wonder if any noticed this or is it only me? In Gtalk voice & vedio chat on Nexus S 2.3.4, I can call and receive calls but I can hear the callers whereas they can't. Any idea?

By the way the above was experienced on Modaco & Oxygen Roms

Android noob here coming from the iOS world and loving my N4 stock. Anyone have a workaround for the low volume on voice calls? I notice when using GrooveIP with my GV account, volume issue is non existent. At first I thought it was a straight talk issue but realized it's happening on most features including music and notifications. Other than this, Iove my Nexus 4!!
TIA

I am not really sure what you mean. The Nexus 4 is the loudest phone I have ever had. Did you turn up the volume/enable speakerphone?
Really? I find it very low especially during conversations. I have volume settings all max level. On VoIP it sounds much louder which tells me it's a software issue. SMH

I recently attended a concert and took my nexus 4 along with me to take some video recordings. After playing back the recordings I have realised the sound is really distorted. From looking around i've heard its an issue with the mic gain. Could i possibly use an external mic to record through the headphone jack? If so does anyone have any recommendations as to which I should purchase? Doesn't have to be anything special just so the sound is clear and reasonably priced. Also what app will allow me to record via the headphone jack?
Thanks in advance!
Just put your finger on the microphone while recording. It will be less distorted.

I tried that and although it is less distorted its not quite as clear as I'd like it to be.
Fact: microphone camera and speaker on stock n4 sucks.

Hey all
I am running a tw 4.4.2 rom (kingdroid at the moment but had the same problem on others).
Using the stock music app or play music (a haven't tried others) when listening to music on headphones the audio will randomly be sent out of the phone speaker and headphone jack at the same time.
I have no idea why.
All I do know is I intended to use this phone instead of a dedicated audio player but I can't as randomly I scared the hell out of old people on the train.
Is this a known issue?
Any advice would be fantastic as I am so close to going and spending stupid money on a dap that I really just don't have lol.
Thanks in advance.

Update:
This occurs on all audio.
Eg.
Phone calls will route audio via ear piece and speaker. Music will play vis headphones and speaker.
All audio routes as it is meant too but in addition via the speaker.
The issue is intermittent.
No obvious trigger

Anyone else have this issue? It is a real pain because the earbuds (original with phone) essentially turn into earPLUGS which block my ability to hear my own voice during calls. Is there an adjustment or fix for this? I CAN hear the other party, its just my own voice which is totally muted.
Buy new earbuds. Maybe the microfon is broken.

Oh. Can the person you are talking with hear your voice?

Yes, I just can't hear my own (like on a regular phone where you get feedback on your own voice)

Test these earbuds in another phone. If it doesn't work, then maybe the earbuds don't support this feature.
