Hi everyone,
This is a question for Cotulla & DFT: You can do the same for HD Mini as you did for the LEO? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224652).
The HD Mini chipset is Qualcomm MSM7227, in the datasheet (attached below) you can see the USB feature: "High-speed USB OTG (built-in PHY)". Then is able to make that function, but driver for WM6.5 is necessary.
Know it's hard but it would be interesting to have that feature in our "little big" smart phone.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
Cotulla has discontinued for htc mini project, Hope somebody checks it.

Thanks for responding iPlasm.
Hopefully there is someone with the "Mini" can solve this question ...
SOLVED: It works!!
Thank you Cotulla & DFT, your project for HTC LEO (HD2) works perfectly in my two HD Mini with WM6.5:
1º: Original ROM Vodafone Spain: 1.11.164.1 (87733) ESN
2º: Original ROM Movistar Spain: 1.36.621.4 (94538) ESN
The chip which controls USB port must be the same in Leo and Mini.
Post original of Cotulla:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16781867
The recommendations for use this software are the same as the original post of Cotulla:
" Please remember, this is some kind of demonstration,
this implementation sometimes isn't stable and you can have issues during usage.
PLEASE MAKE DATA BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING!
Installation:
1. Install CotullaCert.cab
2. Install DFT_LEO_USBH_WM65.CAB.
3. Reset.
Usage:
1. Programs -> USBH Switch
2. Disconnect from PC.
3. Press "Switch to Host" button.
4. Connect host device.
5. After some time it should be detected.
6. You can try to use it.
7. After usage you need reset your device to go back USB client mode.
NOTE: It's not recommended to connect device to PC during USB Host mode active!

To which I add for use in the HD Mini:
2.1. Before press "Switch to Host" button, must be connected all the cables and the external power,
otherwise it does not work.
6.1. If you want remove the USB Stick safely, press the power button to enter sleep mode,
then the USB Stick will turn off and you can extract it. For enter Host mode again,
you must reset the phone.
I have tested some devices:
USB Stick: 1GB, 2GB & 6GB -> all works fine
USB Hard Disk: 80GB FAT32 -> it works fine, 500GB NTFS -> don't work (maybe NTFS not supported)
USB Mouse -> it works, but not fine. I've installed two drivers but sometimes fails.
The drivers for USB Mouse I installed:
Usbinput v1.5 from: http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=usbinput
and
Zeno Sloim USB Host Drivers 2012 from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=480899
I hope this post helps someone like me to continue using the Mini.
Best regards and sorry for my bad english.
Well Done nolosupe!
You have showed your power to us!
but let me ask you that, I see you have done it on this WM6.5, What are the ideas for Android?
Thank you

Sorry iPlasm, I'm not a developer, I've only used the Cotulla software.

I have flashed my i607 with the i600 new ROM and now I can't flash the phone back.
The phone works because I haven't flashed this part, however had flashed the PDA and have no camera anymore, no vibrator, but at least a working O/S.
I have tried the following:
a ) Purchased the D820 cable. I can see the phone connected using Tera Term in COM1, however is not seen by the WCE downloader as this is looking at USB ports.
b ) I have tried installing the modem drivers time and again, and tried to connect ActiveSync in COM1 according to these instructions:
(1) Use a Samsung D820 cable with Serial Port and plug into your i60x
(2) Connect the cable to your PC's serial port (probably COM1)
(3) Install the Samsung Blackjack Modem Driver
(4) Uncheck the "Allow USB connections" in Active Sync option and select COM1 in "Allow connections in one of the followings"
(5) Let Active Sync to search for the i60x and wait for "Connected"
(6) Run the i600 firmware update program as usual.
NO results. ActiveSync does not connect.
c ) Tried Corona Downloader ver 3.2 for Samsung SGH-D500, it connects to the phone, but vendor ID sent is 0x44 and the phone responds 0x52, aborting further exchanges. I also tried OneNAND downloaders ver 1.4, 1.7 and 1.8 with similar results. I know these flashers may not work on my phone, however gave me an idea some exchange was taking place...
d ) I tried to load the bootloader eboot.nbo in root of the SD card, however i don't know if there should be a key combination to boot from SD card or if there is one other trick nor what name the file should have. Any ideas here?
e ) I have made dumps prior this mishap of all 4 raw partitions in the phone. Is it there a way to write a partition using a utility that I can place in the SD card? Is it there available a SD flasher that may run from the phone?
f ) Is it there a way to modify the WCE downloader to work on COM1 instead of USB?
g ) Is it there a way to modify the device driver to accept the phone as it is now? Apparently the phone device driver messages windows with a device malfunction and Device not recognized. Is it there any way to bypass this?
h ) I even tried to use a Serial-USB bridge and WCE downloader. No results either.
If you have any ideas, please respond to this thread. Any input will be deeply appreciated. Thank-you in advance.
Hi,
Is your Samsung device a derivative of a HTC product or have you posted in the wrong place?
WB
I don't think so
I don't think the Samsung is a derivative of the HTC, nor I want to enter a discussion of territorialism, now with all due respect I though this forum was a place to openly exchange knowledge on xda devices, and yes, as this topic has to do with hacking, and yes, because I have seen postings on Samsung i60x and i71x devices, is why I have posted here. Do you have any insight about the subject matter?
Thank-you
First I would like to say hello, since it's my first post here, on xda.
While wandering throughout the internets, i've made an interesting discovery! On some other PPC-related forum i've found piece of software, that's supposed to enable USB-Host function.
Unfortunetly I don't know how to test it (how to connect cable and so on) and (to be honest) am afraid of bricking my diamond. So... here's the description by the author (Zeno):
USB Host Drivers Package version 2.0 (2009-02-07)
Requirements: PDA with WM5,WM6,WM6.1, propper USB cable for your device.
Overview: USB Host Drivers Package for PDA running WM5, WM6, WM6.1. Based on RATOC Systems drivers.
Made by Zeno Sloim 2009-02-07
The package contains:
USB Host Mouse Driver
HID Driver for US-101 keyboard
HostDriver for external USB-based CD-DVD
MassStorage Driver for external USB-based HDD or Flash or any other USB-based card-reader.
All features tested on Fujitsu Siemens Loox 560N running WM6.1 with 16 GB SDHC.
Used with OEM USB keyboard, OEM external HDD, Kingston 8 GB memmory-flash, OEM card-reader and various SD, SDHC cards, Microsoft various USB Mouses.
Download and run PCinstaller.exe on your pc or PPCautorun.exe on your pda.
What is new:
Version 1: 2009-02-06 (first version)
Version 2: 2009-02-07 added USB Host Mouse support for generic USB mouse. Only left-click and right-click support included, scroll-mouses are reduced to simple left and right click mouses.)
I hold no copyrights and so on. Just wondered, that it might be useful. If I broke any rules... delete this thread.
it works only on sd expansion card to usb or devices that support USB host feature (like my n560). anyway it's only usb 1.1 support so it won't do you
much good.
Doesn't work on HTC Diamond
I have tried changing the fast sync option
I have removed everything from the computer and re-installed.
I have hard reset my HD2.
I have restored my computer to before i bought the HD2 and let windows figure out that it needs to install WMDC - then let it download itself and install it.
I have tried every USB port on my computer and also bought a powered USB hub and tried that.
After all installs it just simply wont let me make a partnership or anything.
I don't know what to do anymore. I WANT ME SOME NEW ROMS!!!! please help me out. Other than things to get Windows 7 to work - is there a way to flash hardSPL2 / roms without USB?
I appreciate any help given and i have searched the forums here and all over the net. If i missed that one special trick that my computer needs i do apologize.

I had the same problem with Win 7, however when I unchecked the faster connection option on HD2 it connected, although in Win7 it had a red x in mobile connection, but on the HD2 a connection had been established.
is formatting your PC an option?
Firewall?
I have three Windows 7 machines (32 & 64) and all connect without any problem. Disconnect from your internet connection. Turn off your anti-virus and firewall and give it a shot. Do you get the window that asks how you want to connect when you plug in your cable? Do you have a functioning cable? Just because it charges does not mean it will connect for data. Will it connect to an XP machine?

Have you tried a different usb cable? That's the only other thing I can think of that might be the problem.
HD2 on Windows 7 Ultimate
Hi
Had the same problem, and it turned out that the USB-cable i used, was the problem.
I used the cable that followed the 12v Car Charger, and that did no good, so I went and got the cable that came in the package (chargercable) and then it was Christmas and halloween alltogether.
Works like a charm!
@djchubbs yes i have turned that off as well - along with windows firewall
@ozkaya - no formatting my pc is not an option
@johnboatcat - When i plug it in the phone instantly asks me what kind of connection i want (file transfer or active sync with the checkbox option for faster sync as well). It transfers files just fine in file transfer mode as well.
@zarathustrax i have not tried a different USB cable as i dont have access to one. I doubt something is wrong with mine however i will have to see if i can get one somewhere.
@kongsvada Only cable i have is the one that came in the box factory from HTC
Again thank you for all the replies! I really really am trying to get this to work. I have my home computer which i do everything on but i tried my friends laptop today - it has the same exact build of windows 7 on it as my home computer (if that matters) and it will not sync or let me make a partnership or anything. I plugged it in, it downloaded WMDC and installed etc, restarted the computer and plugged it in, went to active sync mode and WMDC or the sync center do not recognize it at all. Since i cant find it in sync center i cant create a partnership.

OK, let me help you on this if flashing a new ROM will be your immediate task.
1) Just download the ROM that you like and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh
2) Make sure you've HSPL your LEO first.
3) Copy the renamed file into the root of your memory card.
4) Press the VOL down button simultaneously while turning ON your LEO.
5) Just follow the onscreen instructions on your LEO.
6) That's it.
the only problem that I can sense for you now is to HSPL your device because it does require connection with your PC. To bypass this connection with PC thing, do this;
a) Turn OFF your LEO.
b) Turn ON while pressing the VOL Down button together and it will enter the bootloader mode (TRICOLOR Screen).
c) At the bottom of your LEO, it will says "serial"
d) Now, connect the cable to your LEO and and your PC, the words will change to "Usb"
e) Let your PC do its work by installing the necessary driver automatically.
f) When it is done, run the HSPL program your PC. You can download it from this wonderful forum (Please search for it in the ROM development section)
g) Let the program finish and you can see something on your LEO screen in the process. Just look at it and let it finish. DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR LEO (I don't want you to brick your device).
h) When everything is done, reset your LEO and this time press the VOL Down button. This is to go back to the bootloader mode and to check whether the HSPL has been install correctly.
i) then go back to the steps (1 to 6) above to flash your new ROM.
Enjoy,
please post your result and help others too.

I had the same problem with my new computer which happend to be running windows 7 (everything was fine on my old xp machine). After much searching and trouble shooting the problem eventually came down to a setting on the motherboard (something to do with the p55 chipset). After I'd turned the c-state option on in the bios I've had no further issues.
It's a long shot but perhaps it will help you too
ok this sounds promising - i will try it this weekend when i have the time - i greatly appreciate the help and i will post results to let everyone know!
thank you all and like i said - will be trying your way soon mmorisa!
I had to change a registry setting on Windows 7 to get it to connect to my HD2... Of course I cant remember the setting, it may be this one

This worked great! I knew about bootloader screen, i knew i could flash from the SD card but i didn't know how to put them together. Thank you very very much for the help, now off to flashing roms!
One simple - probably stupid question:
I have seen TMOUS compatible on a few roms, however i will then read for that same rom that it is 576 ONLY - And then in another rom thread i see the creator of the rom say TMOUS compatible and then "TMOUS=1024". So what one is it!? just trying to be safe
Again - thank you all so much for the help - i really appreciate everyone that tried to help!
Edit: Just flashed the Evo rom to the phone, plugged it in and BAMN im able to sync with WMDC immediately - so thank you all so so much - super happy now with my 1024 leo!
slowestcivic,
I feel happy that you managed to do it and flash your favorite ROM with the guides I wrote.
at least i can see another smile from another happy LEO user.
best regards and don't forget to help others too.

yeah i have 2007 outlook so that wasnt thr problem. Still not sure what was wrong with it but after flashing a new rom all is well
I had the same trouble with win7. What i did after i tryed evrything i could think of was dowloading the latest active sync from Microsoft. Restarted and plugged the phone in and it worked
Hi everybody,
I hope you can help me because I really can't find the solution:
When I connect my HD2 WP7-device to my computer it charges, but isn't recognized.
- Zune won't start automatically and won't find any device.
- Device Manager doesn't show any unknown device or something that could be my phone.
What I have tried so far:
- Used a XP3 and W7 x64 machine (also ones without any history with a WP7-phone)
- Used a lot of different cables
- Used a lot of different USB-ports
- reinstalled WP7
- reinstalled zune
- (de)installed activesync
- I'm not sure, but first I had a dual-boot solution with Android and I recall USB also didn't work there.
I started to think the USB-connection of my phone might be broken, but when I use MAGDLR, the USB works as mass storage and I can also use the USB flasher. The Bootloader also works, so I tried the following:
- (using bootloader) restored the HD2 in its original state with a official stock ROM and original (locked) SPL
- Installed a Android ROM
The USB also does NOT work with WM6.5 or Android.
Does anyone know anything I can try now? And Yes, I have read all of the threads of other people with USB-issues and the MS-solutions, but none of them had the solution for me...
Coffee-donation for whoever has the golden tip
Hello,
I recently purchased HTC HD2 from someone. It came to me with Android 2.2 froyo installed in it through NAND. Now when I am trying to put ICS replacing froyo or when I am trying to put WINMO 7.5 Mango along with android it doesn't detect USB device connection.
All other features are working perfectly like, phone charging through USB, USB detection for SD card etc.
USB doesn't detect only when I try to run through MAGLDR. For example: when I am switching ON my phone by pressing Voume down key along with power key, colourful screen appears with "SERIAL" written on it. Now when I connect phone to my PC through USB it doesn't change to "USB" from "SERIAL".
Also when I am switching ON my phone by continuously pressing power key to get into MAGLDR mode and trying to flash using the 5th option "USB Flasher Mode", here also I can see just "Wait USB…" rather as per the tutorials it should display "Wait USB…USB".
Now because of this issue I am unable to use my HD2 using WINMO or with any other android OS.
Please help with any option so as I can use the USB feature or to install different OS. My motiv behind purchasing this set was only the customization I can do with the phone. Now without which my motive is getting failed.. Please help me guys :crying: ..
Thanks,
Harjeet
What's your PC setup?
A few things,,
In wmdc untick allow USB connections,, the wmdc that comes with vista/win7 isn't the latest version, Google the Microsoft wmdc page and manually download+install, try not to use a 64 bit windows machine if you have the option, (winxp for preference), running an os through any virtual machine type setup can be problematic, try different USB ports, for magldr it needs the android drivers,,,they can be found in various ways, they're linked in the nand toolkit thread, or I think installing "myphoneexplorer " on the PC installs them too, or Google the android sdk (that's a long and complicated way to get them)
Thanks for replying..
First thing.. Do I need to install WMDC when I am not having windows OS itself in my phone? This is just a question because as per my knowledge I don't need to install WMDC unless I am using windows in my Mobile.
At present mobile is purely an android phone with android OS installed in NAND.
And yes I am having Windows XP 32 bit with me. I already tried with different data cables and in different USB slots but USB connection for installing new OS doesn't work. Other then this all other features of USB are working perfectly.
Please revert in case my opinion is wrong.
Thanks,
Harjeet

no its not, its a windows mobile phone with a hacked winmo bootloader allowing it to run a custom bootloader (magldr or clk) which enables android to run.
Anything you do in the winmo bootloader (stripey screen - hspl, task29/flashing magldr/flashing stock roms, flashing radios - ) all requires windows mobile usb drivers.
Anything you do from the magldr screen requires android usb drivers.
Hey Sam,
I can't believe it.. I was wrong.. Just installed Active Sync and tried again.. It worked..

Hello all.
When you've got some problems with you datacable via phone/pc is also this a solution.
Be sure you've make a copy of your SD-card and after when you copied SD to PC (harddisc) via datacable or cardreader and after this you gonna formatting your SD-card or you buy a new SD-card.
Then put new or formatted SD-card into your phone and started it up in bootloadermenu (colorscreened) <volume down> and after this you wil see now in place only "serial" changed into "USB".
I'll be hope that this wil working.
I've my HTC HD2 also working when i fixed this.
HTC HD2 / PACman Android version 4.1.2 (latest version) / Magldr 1.13 / CWM recovery 3.2.0.0 <this combine works very simple and als this Android rom is stable and fast without automatically rebooting time.
For more you've check <HTC HD2 Android roms>
I wish you good luck with your phone...
i have the same problem
I had the same problem on my Windows 7 x64. Then I tried to connect HD2 to my older Win XP notebook and there it worked. So I found somewhere, I should update drivers in my Windows 7 system. I downloaded file "drvupdate-amd64.exe" from Microsoft (search in Google for "Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 Driver for Windows Vista (64-bit)"), installed it and then it started to work (it took a while, before it started to work, but it started). When I connected my HD2, Windows found the driver, installed it and "SERIAL" changed to "USB" finally.

I confess I haven't read all answers so it might be a repetition but what I think is you might have made changes in your operating system, specially in SYSTEM REGISTRY that deals with communicating your devices chipset in particular mode, I think it is a QUALCOMM device, now you should do following things:-
First if you have registry backup, apply that and revert back to previous system registry or in case you have not, restore your OS to any previous restore point.
Then restart system, connect USB cable and start it in the particular mode you asked in question (vol down+power), it should try detecting driver.
If it can't, better solution to try finding QUALCOMM MSM driver for HD2 separately is to download windows active sync/htc sync, which might be having these drivers built in, download it and if it doesn't help, restart your system, then try again, it should work, in case doesn't PM me, as I won't be following this post, most probably even you ain't
