Apparently you do not need the power cord for this to work with some phones, which is nice. Shipping is $2.34 to me on the east coast (Monoprice is in CA BTW).
From their site:
Some devices (such as the HTC EVO 3D) can supply sufficient power from their internal batteries to drive the adapter. For others, or in the event you want to charge your device while using the AV output, you can plug your charger into the micro USB port on the side of the adapter.

I am curious if any of you have tried third party CABLES for your Le Pro 3 charging. I purchased a pack from Amazon and found that none of these charge the phone with any kind of urgency. A thirty minute drive delivered 4% battery, on a QUICK CHARGE CAR CHARGER. With the OEM cable, I would have gotten 30-40%, based on my testing thus far.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The product I picked up (and plan on returning):
[/B]Conforms to the USB Type C Specification version 1.1, standard 56kilohm identification resistor, which ensures a safe charging at 2.4A Maximum and the speed of data sync up to 480 Mbps. No damage to your wall charger adapter and legacy USB hub
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have any of you had luck, or experience, here?
Do I perhaps need a special kind of cable? I am assuming all USB C cables are "equal" due to the tech behind usb c.
Any feedback is welcomed and appreciaited.

I too thought that all usb c cables are the same. Are you sure you were using quick charge 3.0 charger?
Yuppers. Sadly, I'm positive. I used the OEM brick this morning, and received 2% in 10 minutes. This is massively low compared to the OEM cable. The car is also a quick charge that typically charges my phone upwards of 40% on my daily commute. This did closer to 3%.
The o ly factor that has been changed is the cable.
Sounds like you got a bad cable. Return it and buy one that is approved by Benson Leung.
Agree with NiHaoMike. Try Anker Powerline Cables.

I'm still waiting for my x720.
And access to Anker products is actually quite difficult here in Norway. I've ended up ordering both Tronsmart and Choetech cables. Both approved by Benson Leung.

Benson Leung.
As a means of edjucating myself...who, or what, is Benson Leung? I aim to Google it after I post this, but thought...perhaps, y'all would have more specific info as to our interest in this name...
Just Google Benson usb c and you will find what you are looking for.

Is it possible that the issue is with the type C cable being a 2.0 vs 3.0 USB? I am noticing that my order contained USB 2.0 to USB C...WHILE OTHER USB C cable show 3.0 and 3.1
I am using Tronsmart and Choetech USB-C cables from amazon with no problem.
QC 2.0 chargers also seem to work quite well for fast charging.
Does anyone know if s8 ships with an usb 3.1 spec cable? Looking at Samsung website it seems it's usb 2.0 spec. And s8 itself is usb 3.1 gen 1 (3.0) specced so very strange why Samsung would ship lower spec cable. Cost?
Same with their old fast wireless chargers with micro usb connector which can only push 10 watts max hence slow fast charging.
I don't understand why would Samsung build their phone to a certain spec and then sell accessories which are below the spec so people can't actually use the latest and greatest functions.
I had to order a usb3.1 gen2 usb a to c cable and usb3.1 gen 2 c to c cable. Anker and choetech usb-if certified.
Have also ordered a charger with quickcharge 3.0 usb type a and 30 w type c. Tronsmart.
Since I have two of the old fast wireless chargers I guess I am stuck with micro usb limited 10w power. But I may use the type c from time to time for 15w charge.
Same for data transfer using usb3.1 gen 2 will at least allow me to use the phones better transfer speeds.
What did you guys buy for your Samsung? Apart from case and screen protector.

Anyone else have input for the S8

if they ship with the usb 3.1 cable, who will buy the fast charger? the cable come with the package suppose to give you for data transfer and battery charge, not for quick charge

Anyone have a good suggestion for a full 45 watt car charger? In the car is about the only time I think I need the super fast charging. That seems to be the time I most often freaking out wishing my phone would charge faster when I'm pulling into somewhere. I've seen a few on eBay, but I'm not sure if they are legitimately 45 watts and also if they will be compatible with the Note 10 plus. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Whay are the specs for one? I got this one but unsure if it will support thensuper fast charging.
I guess ill find out in a few weeks

I don't think its a good idea to leave those permanently in a hot car in summer.

I'm going with this for a car charger and this for a wall charger.

These prolly won't charge the Note 10+ at 45w. Note 10+ requires usb-pd 3.0 chargers with PPS.

I think I could a car charger which has the required output for a 45w super fast charging. What do you guys think?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07115BLPP
i think the charger has to also have the vooc and huawei handshake chip inside it as well as PD.
otherwise most cheapo chargers will use the old usb-PD chips that outputs 12v/2A and not 10v/4.5A. most cheap PD 20v chargers wont even enable 20v charge mode unless used in a truck 24v system, because the cheap chips are not able to boost /convert the 14v of the car battery to 20v at high amps.
heres a $4 chip with multiple charge tech handshakes,

hopefully someone with more elecro know how can help find a cheap chip that charges at samy 45w.
this cheapo $14 one states pps - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33020251902.html

So then it might be that Samsung is only selling the 45W charger separately because it has a Huawei chip inside it, and Samsung doesn't want to be shown as including anything Huawei-related in anything sold with the phone due to the restrictions in the US against Huawei? And how do you know the 45W charger has a Huawei chip?

This 45w car charger says it's PD 3.0 + PPS. I've received mine from the official ebay UK Baseus store for £10.

I don't know, im just seeing 10v @4.5A and im thinking it's like VOOC and other charge profile where the current is higher than 2Amps.
Im hoping its flexible and allows 12v @4A and such. either way im sure the handshake chip will be. ade cheap and cheapo $5 chargers will start to show up.
for $1000+ Hopefully the note10+ constantly checks the input voltage and disconnects the circuit internally if the source power goes bad.
I have two OnePlus chargers (one from my 6t and one from the 7 pro) and I'm going to try those and see if they work. If so, then I'm going to use my car charger that I used for my 7 pro.
OnePlus 6t charges at 3A with the charger that came along with it. If I use my laptop charger, it charges at 1A. It's a 160W usb-c charger.
Is there any specifications that I need to check before buying a charger that will give best performance?.
Don't know about OnePlus but usually it's either PD or QC:

Don't think that is already too much, there are even more - my little USB tester supports even others:

Finding out what charger does what can be tricky but an honest seller will tell you beforehand (there must be specs!).
