The PIT file is the partition information table. It tells your phone where different packages go on the phone, as well as how big partitions are on the phone. Without this information, Odin cannot properly re-partition your device
You may never need to use this file unless u did something really wrong

Thank you. I have been meaning to sort one my self for a while now.

Hope you know
1. 4.1.1 having brick bug (SDS) and can brick without any reason if you have 4.1.1
2. Unless your device is soft bricked, no role of pit

How to extract a PIT from a device?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51219635
Ok i did all of the above i extracted the pit file from a working note 2 but it still fails when i try to flash the stock rom via odin. Now this is what the note 2 board reads on download mode.
Current binary samsung official
System status Custom
Can it be that the system status is custom and the pit im using comes from a stock firmware?
Please help me on this im trying to salvage this board i know it can be fixed.
Do you think i have to maybe flash whatever custom rom that's installed on the bad board to the note 2 thats working?
Please guide me i appreciate all of your help thanks.

what is the error in Odin? place a snapshot.
Hi,
I use a Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus 7580 phone with 4GB of storage. Since any KitKat based ROM has started to crash after one of the latest play services updates, I find Resurrection Remix Marshmallow version, the fastest and stable rom for the phone.
Storage space is an issue.
There is only 1 GB storage left after a few necessary apps are installed, plus a 500mb on system partition.
I see that the system partition is not decreased a single megabyte after the first installation.
Can anybody tell how is the system partition used in general?
I'm trying to figure out if it is a good idea to reduce the size of the system partition like 300 Mbytes and add that space to user partition?

you need to remove sboot.bin file from your firmware and then flash it through odin. i am sure it works. but for that you need to know a lil about linux, as the process of removing sboot.bin is done on linux os.
cant I flash sboot.bin somehow?
