yes, it is the issue.

Change back to 320 dpi.

I personally havent tried this but you can check it out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37326035

whenever you change display density you have to go through a process to make the play store work. i believe xylon guides you through these steps under their xylon settings. maybe under general or user interface, but those are just guesses but i know its somewhere

well thanks very much guys but I also figured out that clearing market data also helps a bit.I mean those app shows supported for a while then turned back to not supported. I'm gonna try that play store DPI fix tool then will report back here.
thanks again

Play store issues due to DPI settings?

First post here, been a long time trawler.
I unlocked and rooted my Nexus 7, and followed that up with changing my DPI setting so I get tablet ui mode instead of the default phone mode. However every time I try to get an app from the play store, it tells me my device is not supported. To bypass this I've been backing up the apps from my Nexus S and sending them to myself for manual installation. Any fixes for this?
Please and thanks.

I think you have to have a native DPI, like 120, 160, 220, or 320. Anything else might cause issues, but I don't know exactly.
Thanks for the tip. The guide I was following said any number under 175DPI would work, so I just picked 174 for testing sake. It worked so I didn't think twice. Changed to 160 and this seemed to do the trick.

How about putting the DPI where its supposed to be and applying the "Tablet UI mode no DPI change" patch.

- Does the patch work with every ROM and kernel available?
- What's the DPI supposed to be at?
- Does simply altering the DPI to a number like 160 cause any harm?
I'm not sure where this patch is listed, but I'm running stock jelly bean. This something someone on xda wrote?

DPI is supposed to be @ 213
[PATCH] True Tablet UI (Apps+GUI) w/o DPI Change - 8/1 Alpha 3 Released
I think i have a fix for you.
I have been working on this for some time and i found out that if you change the DPI yes it will mess with your compatibility. What I did to fix this was i went in and uninstalled the system app for play store but left the play store service. I did this using System tuner but im sure you can do it with titanium backup. I rebooted my tablet and the play store reinstalled i did clear all data for the play store and it was working on its own with fixed compatibility. All apps that lost compatibility like OnLive and nVision work like a charm.
Just an FYI im using DPI of 160 (modified using the build.prop method.), but im sure you can use 170 too.
Just in case you need it there is this post with a modded play store.
[MOD] [PATCH] Google Play Store 3.8.15 + [DPI] patched versions

Storage issue

I have 16gig, c60, on 4.1.1, stock Rom, rooted and unlocked, with 160 dpi in build.prop
Over 8gb free. Apps won't install from store, New or ones to update!
I have searched & found some ideas for solutions, none have worked.
Lucky patcher fix = no
Wiped cache and dalvik cache = no
Clear play store data = no
I even uninstalled about 100mb of apps = no
I am annoyed and getting frustrated. There has to be a known issue/fix. I woo pulls take a screen capture but i can't remember how lol
Anyone?
Edit: ok won't update slacker radio or YouTube...but let me install new app purchased...

Its pretty well documented that dpi changes can bork the play store. Revert it to stock and the play store should work fine.

Do this to change your dpi, leaving build.prop untouched:
In /data/local.prop
# ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29413138
qemu.sf.lcd_density=160
# Bluetooth name
net.bt.name=MyBluetoothName

Sorry, should have clarified that I was aware of 160 dpi issues and reverted back to stock and tried with no luck as well.
Dpi setting is not the issue....
And with slacker, i also uninstalled completely and tried installing new with no luck.

Incompatible apps according to the play store when its not true after 4.2 update

This may have been discussed before but I love tablet mode even though Google took it away from us with the 4.2 update.
With that being said I tried phablet mode and I still am not a big fan so changed the screen density back to 160. Since I have done this I don't see updates for certain apps that came out today for example Google books or tablet talk. The play store claims my device is not compatible, but that can't be true so I changed the density back to 213 and it hasn't changed the play store compatibility issue. I cleared my cache files and that still didn't help. Anyone else having similar issues or knows how to fix this? Thanks!!!!

I deleted the Google Framework and cleared the cache rebooted and it seems like it is back to normal. Never had this issue before

I woke up this morning and it started acting up again. Did the same steps as I did last night deleting the framework and rebooting and it didn't help. Anyone ????

How to keep market compatibility of 320dpi when phone is set to run at 268dpi?

320dpi is too big for my tastes.
I prefer 268dpi for more densely packed info while keeping ui elements close to center.
But! Whenever I want to search for apps, I need to set dpi to 320, reboot, clear market data and then open it to shop as I please.
Is there any workaround I'm missing? Anyway to keep a custom dpi while still keeping compatibility?
Please and thank you.

Could you elaborate on the second method? Is there any way to do it without a modded play store app?
When I Google, all I'm finding are results to change product/device name so other devices can have same compatibility as Nexus devices.

Try Paranoid Android?

Unable to find camera awesome on Google play.

I have purchased camera awesome from Google play few months ago but now I noticed that I am no longer able to even find it. I am on purity rom 4.4.1. Problem is, my friend is on the same rom but he can find it with no problem on Google play. Only difference is he's not purchased it. Anything I might have missed? I tried emailing the Dev but there's no reply.

It's probably a region issue. Follow this link on your phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smugmug.android.cameraawesome&hl=en It will probably tell you that it isn't compatible with your nexus 4 for some reason. I normally find that this happens when I've recently updated my ROM to the latest version and the dev hasn't had a chance to catch up yet, but if your friend is on the same ROM I'm not sure why it would happen.

Did you change your phone dpi? It normally makes some apps incompatible with your phone which means even if you search they don't show up. Go back to stock dpi reboot. May be dirty flash the rom and you might find your app
I LOVE MY SLUTTY N4
Alright Changed back my dpi and it worked. Thanks guys!
