Good rooting guide for defy+ and 2nd boot - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys!
I've been googleing and searching through xda forums but it seems I can't find a good guide-tutorial on how to root Defy+ (plus).
Could someone please point me to some good, clear guide to root that device?
Also, I've been trying to figure out what is 2nd boot and 2nd boot roms...could someone please help me out understand that?
I'd really appreciate it a lot!
(I'm considering rooting & flashing stefan braun's miui mod on a friend's defy+...)
Thanks a lot in advance for any support! :good:

Hi mate,
First tell me your bootloader version

Before rooting the defy plus,i suggest you to read the All-in-One Defy Beginner's guide and know the device well before trying any rooting methods on it
and my experience says to read, read and read until you are sure that you understood the exact procedure or terms ..and incase any doubts, everyone is always ready to help
And now your query part :
2nd boot ROM is a common build (i.e the same rom can be flashed on both Defy as well as a Defy Plus).

Actually I don't have a defy+ device (II own htc sensation, rooted on which i flash roms) but a friend of mine asked me to do it for him so yep, I'm following you're advice and before trying to do anything, I'm gonna soak up my brain with useful knowledge Anyhow: my friend has a non-rooted Motorola Defy+, with gingerbread (as soon as I meet him I'll look into the specifics of the kernel-bootloader whatever on system info in the settings of the phone)

If i'm remembering correctly, the second ROM i sent you was the final kang he's talking about. I haven't been able to get back to it and do more work with it since 2.3 support is dying and my skills only go so far. Plus the original build files was on the laptop that died oh so long ago when i started getting cm11 spun up for us before m.ksy and aaahhh took over.
