I'm having some strange network issues.
I'm on AT&T. Sometimes, with full H+, certain things won't work.
Facebook app gives a "network error" message sometimes. Sometimes it works fine. The Speedtest app NEVER has worked. It'll ruin the ping test then error out with a "network issues" error.
All the while, Chrome works (mostly) fine, Spotify works fine, Pandora works fine...
Anyone else have this issue?

i've had that issue using T-mobile. they just dont have very good speed in my area. have you checked coverage for your area? sometimes the phone will say 3G/H+ even though you arent getting fast speed. it's not so much a speedometer.
Yea...my HTC One S worked fine in the same places. And even certain things on the N4 world. Just certain things don't. It's very strange. Even just switched to Franco kernel...No difference. Think I might try another ROM later. It's the only thing I can think of.
And...what damn kernels allow overclocking!? Tried faux and Franco, neither will let me go past 1.5. Thought they went to 1.8...?

i think Matrix, Bricked, and Der Kernel can over clock. most devs i've seen dont really see the need for it just yet and are trying to get everything rock solid first. most seem to be going ape **** over gamma tweaks.
Gamma tweaks?
I are intrigued...

By apn, I assume you mean Access Point Names? I don't see an option for anything regarding ip. It just says Cingular.com which is odd.
And, it's not like NOTHING works. Most things work pretty well, a few other things work fine sometimes and a couple things don't work at all...
Little clarification, please?
Edit: found the ip part. It is v4.

I will check that out right now and post the results. Thanks!
So...I'm now running Matr1x and same friggin thing. I've now tried faux, Franco and matr1x and neither the performance controller in the settings nor SetCPU offer anything above 15xxGhz. Am I don't something wrong?
Yup...so...? I'm still lost. I can't even sent a basic email, full service, my HTC would do it on the same network with the same SIM in the same place. I don't get it...
I know this is completely off topic for the original topic, which still is occurring mind you, but I have been reading a bit. Apparently there are multiple kinds of OC kernels for the N4. Coming from MANY different phones running all kinds of different things, this is a first. I flashed Matri1x a little while ago and, come to find out, it's a GPU OC kernel...not both/CPU. This alone bumped my quadrant score (yea yea yea...I know people think it's irrelevant but A - well...it's not totally irrelevant, B - it's fun to play with and C - I'm a benchmark whore) from around 4500-4600 to over 5100! Pretty pleased.
This makes me want a CPU + GPU OC Kernel even more!! I will find one! Wonder how close to 6000 I can get!

Has anyone tried this MOD yet? The OP said it works on the Incredible. To me, it does not seem much different than what SetCPU does.

I see talk on that page of possible clash between setCPU and that mod. I'm partial to being able to see whats going on. Not turning on some mod and figuring "hey its prob working good"

I have tried it and yes its like set CPU but less of a hassle to me because it is already preset, and it comes with some other goodies too
My main issue is it conflicts with kings kernels so I removed it

I can't seem to find one thing wrong with this rom everything for me is running perfect. No more freezing, force closing slow boot up pretty much everything that was wrong with froyo fixed. I am very please with this rom.
Anyone know if roam control still works with this ROM? I use it quite a bit to use VZW 3g since Sprints has been broken for almost a year here.

Ok. This rom is almost there but I might go back froyo tomorrow. What bothers me is the lack of gpu power. Its not ext4 and not overclock. And I get a slight lag frame per second drop in a rithmic maner. It happens all around the phones os and apps. Like tapatalk.. Flick Scroll down a thread and when u bottom out u see a stutter jerky fps drop. Not big but I see it.

Roam control works great on EF02 (as does everything it seems) ... I just used it yesterday to roam off Verizon all day.

I notice very little lag, if at all, on EF02. Are you on stock? marcusant's i1 has some tweaks in there to make the kernel even faster. Honestly, it's faster than some of the EXT4 OC'd ROMs I've used.
force close both in froyo and this Gingerbread sometimes.
Try using navigation for more than 15 minutes. that's the only problem I've seen so far. It shuts the gps down.

+1 on this, Loving EF02 with EF10 modem so far. I'm running it stock, rooted with the ACS EF02 CRTmod and it's solid, smooth, and is giving me the best battery life I've had so far.
Roam control works fine for me. The only issue I've had is the EF02 modem crashing, but with the EF10 modem it's been fine.

Not to offend, but you're pretty critical about performance as well, right?
Guys I gave my gf a N4 for christmas and she is so disappointed. She switched from the HTC Amaze!
She says that phone is very slow. internet wise. It takes long time to load a youtube video or a search on the internet and sometimes it says no connection.
We are on a tmobile network which the N4 should support the 42 speed like my s3.
She says that it would be nice to have a end kill all on the tast like my 4.2 rom on my s3.
She is not rooted and im trying to convince her that by rooting it and have a custom rom may help her internet problems.
what can you guys recommend on doing to it? Did you had this issue before rooting it? We've done several hard resets and still do it. I know the first step is rooting it. but what rom and what mod should I flash?
maybe a build.prop data speed tweak etc etc.
This is driving me crazy too. The way she nags about it all the damn time.

How is the data speed on it? Does it hang all the time? She is a noob so I dont think she will know how to manage a phone that can do all of these tweaks.
Well if you want simple performance and battery get the minico ROM. Super stable, very lightweight and fast. Has all gapps present in the ROM.
You might want to add custom APN settings or you need to enable lte dial *#*#4636#*#*
CrossfireX has a kill all button enabler, has a "hold back and kill current app" and tons more.
In At&t I get 13mb/s which is NOT on lte.

Been looking at that one and at minico. so far minico seems to be the one she likes as it boots the volume on sounds.
13mg/s for att 4g network its pretty fast. I think this phone was build for their 21mgs right?
I havent played with the n4 that much. but she has showed me how slow it is when it comes to browse the web or youtube videos.
with full bars and H on the side.
She is kinda on my nerves because she used to have an htc and she never had problems with it. And now I gave her this phone! lol
been reading on how to root this phone and blah blah...
also pimp my rom have way to tweak the data speed and the touch screen responsive.
have any one of you tested if pimp my rom works for you?
Well you could always sell the nexus for twice what you paid since they haven't been for sale since November 27th.
Did you get then phone from Google or T-Mobile? What speed test results do you get on H?

I'm on T-Mobile as well, and haven't had any problems with data speed. Have you tried switching out the SIM card?
So I recently got this tablet, rooted it, and installed the 4.3 nightlys (this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2413878)
I've been bringing it to work so I can just get things done faster reading e-mail and news without distracting during my breaks. At some point, I started to noticed how incredibly slow things loaded up such as trying to load articles from feedly as well as its videos. I later noticed that my wifi was only 2 bars. I figured it was enough but apparently it isn't as things just load up so bloody slow.
I decided to to download the app, Speed Test, into the tablet and found out I've been downloading at crappy speeds of 900-1100 kbps while my Samsung Galaxy S4, in the same area I'm testing the speed, is running at ridiculous speeds of 26-30 >mbps<.
I actually restore the tablet back to original stock and tested again and same deal. Has anyone got this problem? I'm leading to believe its old hardware which would be incredibly disappointing if that's the case... but maybe there's an update or fix for this terrible wifi?
Check your Advanced WiFi settings - disable 'WiFi optimisation' and see how that goes. Apparently it slows things down!

I turned off and used it for a few days; same issue. Is there any other possibilities? Any patches or fixes for this? Because if it's really because of old tech, I'm going to sell this and try out Swappa to avoid eBay fees for such a disappointment.
Maybe you got a bad tablet mine off n router is way faster then that. Loads almost instantly
Sent from inside my mkv.
the router/modem combo that Time Warner gave me is junk, don't know what the hell is wrong with it
but other routers at my friends houses seem to do fine
so i'm guessing it's a hardware issue
im going to hook my d-link router up to the modem/router combo (if i can ever figure it out)
oh yeah, if anyone know how to do that (router to router) message me or something
Is anybody else suffering from WiFi Dropouts? My phone drops out quite regularly while connected to my Bt home hub 4. Not had any issues with previous phones/tablets just since my edge+. Have reset my router and all is fine with the other devices in the house. Just putting the feelers out to see if anyone else is experienceing the same.
Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
Yes - I experience intermittent dropouts. I can tell because it happens while I am streaming live video which then cuts out. The words 'wifiname connected' then appear as it immediately reconnects. It's annoying as it interrupts the stream. I also think it is happening when I receive a notification like a text message. I have tried playing with the phone's wifi settings but this did not fix it.
First time I have had this problem while owning many android phones over the years so I know it is not the routers.
At least I'm not the only one. You hit the nail on the head with it happening while streaming. Thats where I've noticed it the most. Now how to deal with the issue......
Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
Have you noticed that it happens when receiving text messages?
Can't positively say yes to that. But will keep a close eye.
Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
Happened to me too. Noticed it when it connects back. Surely affects the streaming!
Also happens to me but can happen anytime, also my Note 3 did it.

For me it's quite stable. But if you are using wlan roaming in your house with 3 or more same ssids this can happen sometimes when he is switching frequencies.

I have the same issues, my wifi is a lot slower compared to others as well. I think its a software issue, Ive gone through 3 replacements and all experience the exact same issues.
It could be kernel issue. Did anyone who faces that issue try to flash custom kernel? One of my friend solved by flashing a kernel. Thanks.

Thanks for the help bro but unfortunately this hasn't resolved my issue. Tried different roms with different kernels and the problem still presists. Wifi on 5g is slower than all the other devices and after a while it will just drop and not connect to the Internet. I'm hoping it's a software issue but I'm starting to sense it's the hardware .
