[Q] Apps will not authorize via Facebook - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
I got my Nexus 4 yesterday, and I'm very pleased with it. I have rooted and installed CWM recovery, but other than that the ROM is stock.
I've got an odd problem, in that any app that tries to log in via Facebook (Strava, for example) comes up with a Facebook error of "The page you requested was not found"
An old HTC Desire does not give this error, so I'm fairly sure it's specific to the device, or maybe the Android version.
Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?
Thanks.

It never happened to me before. But try to use another ROM and see if that works or flash back to stock and try it again. If it still doesn't work, it could be a ROM issue or a network issue.

Thanks. I'm pretty convinced it's a Facebook problem connected with the version of Android. I just got today a Nexus 7. This is not rooted, and I have the same problem. The handset that it does work on is an earlier version.
If you have time, could you try installing a new app, like Strava, and seeing if it gives you the same error when you try and authenticate?

Yep, definitely a problem at Facebook, as it's now working.

NFS MW crashes during startup FIXED

I couldn't find anything on this but I'm running 4.2.1 stock rooted and ever since the update that ea pushed out it will not work. At the loading screen where there is usually graphics there is nothing. Just the words at the bottom telling you to drive safe and all that then it crashes. Is anyone else having this issue? I have a logcat but not sure how to upload through the xda app. Does the paid version allow you to upload?
Fixed. Apparently ea sent out a bad update that affected some users. I deleted, redownloaded, and restored my data using titanium backup and everything is working fine. I'm kinda glad it happened because I was on stock and decided to switch to the new paranoid android to make sure it wasn't a corrupt file in my rom and I kinda like it.

I'd say get on a computer and upload a log. Working fine here for me on Paranoid Android 2.99b6 and on 4.2.1 stock before I flashed the PA rom.

No messing quick reply on PA 3.1

Hey there, I'm running PA 3.Mar11
I ran it on my phone fine, but when I run it on my girlfriend's, I can't get hers to have messaging quick reply. I flashed the new radio and bootloader. Any ideas? I feel I'm missing something basic. I tried a clean re flash too, no luck.

Did you check if it needs to be enabled in the messaging app settings?

I'm having a similar issue with CM10-3/19 Nightly. It worked fine, but sometime in since Saturday, I lost the feature. Just noticed it today. I tried a few back updates, but nothing new was there. Only other thing I updated was the Gmail update pushed out last night, but I doubt it would effect it?
Thoughts?

PA switched from the CM mms.apk to the aosp mms.apk couple of builds ago in an attempt to fix an issue with receiving mms. Quick reply is a feature of the CM mms app so it is not in PA currently.
You can always just pull the quick reply MMS apk from a ROM that has it and push it to your phone.

[Q] nexus 7 keeps restarting after 4.3 update

this is my first time making an account/posting on xda after being a long time reader and user. just need some help with my nexus 7 32gb WiFi (Australian model) i have loved this tablet and I have never had a problem with it, its unrooted and has never been dropped or anything like that, i updated it to 4.3 ota last night and almost instantly after that I have noticed it keeps rebooting itself like so many other people have problems with on earlyr versions like 4.2, please tell me what I can do to fix this, I can't find any straight help, my location is off and always has been, but I have noticed every now and again I would notice (on earlyr version) fused location would always stop working and ask me to force close randomly, that now doesn't happen but instead it retstarts, so do u think this could be the problem? any help would be awesome, thanks.
If you're having a problem with 4.3 you can try two things.
1. Revert back to 4.2.2
2. Try a rooted official stock ROM.

I fixed the proble,m, I found a site that finally gave me a good option to try besides rooting as I don't want to root my nexus 7, turns out HD widgets was cashing the issue, but the issue only showed up after this update, thanks for ur help though.

I've had random reboots on 4.2.2 and one since updating to 4.3. Usually happens when I am mounting or unmounting a USB drive, but sometimes it's for no apparent reason.

Thanks to all the posters, but I need help..

First of all, thanks to all the guys who post on here and develop some of these great ROMs. I bought a Note 3 online that had a custom rom installed and no backup. The phone turned on and off and didn't work properly. Just reading these forums helped somebody who knew nothing about this stuff to somebody who was able to install the verizon stock back onto the phone, then root it, install safestrap and install two custom roms (jelly beans and lite). The phone works great with the exception of the following: when using the camera lines appear on the screen and show up sometimes on the pictures, secondly my gps is a little off and doesn't see exactly where I'm at and doesn't work properly. This is the same on both roms I boot from. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
Go back to stock and see if the problems persist. If so then it's the phone and not the rom.

The problem persists. I actually, read about disabling wifi and image stabilization and that's pretty much eliminated the lines when using the camera, but I can't figure out the issue with gps.
Download an app like gas status and see if that helps. Besides that just might be a defect.

[Q] Google Services Not Working

I am using my rooted Nexus 4 and google services are not working, when I try to sign in I get 'Can't establish a reliable connection to the server'. It is not just the rom I am on (currently Omni rom) because I have tried several and it does not work on any of the roms. I also know that it is not a faulty gapps package because I have tried several different packages. I have scoured the web for a solution to the problem but none of the ones I have come across have had any effect. Does anybody have any advice?

Which Gapps are you using?
The one made by PA is highly recommended: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
I would do a full wipe, then reinstall the ROM, then Gapps.

I have already done these things and none of them are effective.
I think our N4 has developed the same issue except it only happens on cellular data--no google maps or other google but great LTE speed and full (except for google) web access. This started about 3 mos ago. You're the first I've come across through my scouring. Rooted, DE-odexed stock. Sorry I can't help.

I have found ( what is probably a temporary) solution; I downgraded to JB and then upgraded back to KK. My gapps are working fine currently but I have a feeling they may break a gain again. However, for now my N4 is working smoothly.
Thanks. Will try.
