About the ROM:
ROM is based on the 2.04 version of Aurora ICS 4.0.3 with the 2.6.35 kernel.
I find it stable and fast, i get no random reboots and everything works as it should at least with the use i am making. I have no intention to fix/update anything this is provided as is. I am just sharing it since it seems to me overall the best ICS experience someone can get with this phone, and i am quite picky actually.
Installation guide:
As usual you need to be on baseband 404020, meaning you have flashed official gingerbread.
Use either Blefish 5.5.0.4 recovery or forumber2 6.0.2.8 recovery and just flash the zip.
I would suggest you do a full wipe before flashing it. I have no clue if flashing from v5 to this without wiping cache/data will work fine since v5 is 4.0.4 and this is 4.0.3. If you try it please post if it did work or not so i can update this post.
Changelog
The changes i've made are as follow:
1) Enabled HSUPA icon. (Flash the Battery Mod after the first boot for this)
2) Added a circle percentage battery icon. (Flash the Battery Mod after the first boot for this)
3) Undervolt the kernel, tune smartassv2 and compile it with gcc 4.6.3.
4) Removed unnecessary system applications:
ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk
com.google.android.music.apk
Email.apk
Exchange.apk
Galaxy4.apk
GalleryGoogle.apk
GenieWidget.apk
GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
HoloSpiralWallpaper.apk
LiveWallpapers.apk
LiveWallpapersPicker.apk
MagicSmokeWallpapers.apk
MarketUpdater.apk
Music.apk
MusicFX.apk
NoiseField.apk
PhaseBeam.apk
Protips.apk
QuickSearchBox.apk
Superuser.apk
Talk.apk
VisualizationWallpapers.apk
YouTube.apk
I've included all this on a zip at downloads. It's not flashable you have to manually copy-paste the ones you want.
5) Apex Launcher as default launcher.
6) SuperSU to manage superuser permissions.
7) Some handy init.d scripts.
Antutu for the fans

Tips
Use this app!
You can change between wifi drivers through developer options. The new one is supposed to be better but i haven't notice and difference speed/battery wise.
If your battery is draining as usual use BetterBatteryStats to find the cause.
Also keeping wifi always on will do drain your battery.
Download
Get it from Here.
Also check the attachments if you want Circle Battery Percentage or Wake by Volume key. Download and flash via CWM.
As usual thanks to dzo! It's all his work all credits go to him!
About the Kernel:
WARNING THIS KERNEL IS FOR V5 ONLY IT WON"T WORK WITH AURORA LIGHT ROM
Here is a bit modified kernel that i've made for Aurora V5.
It is mostly an undervolt kernel which might produce a bit better battery life and performance. Also added smartassv2, interactivex and savagedzen governors and quite some cherry-picks that might or might not affect performance. Also enabled init.d and added some common init.d scripts for read_ahead size and the loopy_smoothness tweak and zipaling on boot. If you don't want those simply delete them from /etc/init.d/.
For a full list of changes see my github here https://github.com/ezeteze/kernel_huawei/commits/optimus
Download in attachment. Flash it over update 20 through CWM.
Thanks to dzo for his awesome work!
Tips: Under WiFi advanced settings select "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to "Never". This should give you a bit more juice.
Also BetterBatteryStats is an excellent tool that can help you identify nasty battery eating apps.
You can use Autokiller Memory Optimizer or any other similar app to tune default minfree values.
Njoy!
yeahhhhhhhhhh, thank you ezet !!!! :good:

Hi Ezet,
Will this work with MIUI V4?
Thanks
Re: [KERNEL] Optimus Kernel for Aurora v5 update 20
I can really see some improvement in smoothness without decreasing battery life, at least not yet.
Thanks!
P.s. Is that S70darky_zipalign same as Zipalign all APKs at each boot?

Boot into pink screen by holding volume up/down. Connect through USB and replace /image/boot.img with the one on my zip. Remove battery and reboot. Keep a backup of the original boot.img in case it doesn't work.

Without the device tree it's not possible. Bug the original developer to release his device tree or to change his BoardConfig for the u8800 wifi driver.

Overclock:
To enable overclock you need a kernel that supports the OC like ezterry's one and the ICS bootloader, so if you want to get the overclock on this ROM that has a stock zImage (kernel) you need to go HERE and download ezterry's kernel, flash it though recovery and enjoy the overclocked lightspeed by setting the CPU frequency with your prefered OC app (setcpu, tegrak, etc..).
Bootloader:
As Skrillax_CZ's unlocked bootloader allows some customizations I made a version for Lightspeed ROM, if you want you can flash it through CMW as a normal update.zip and on boot you'll see this.
(It works only if you yet have the unlocked bootloader >=V6!)

from what little I read in the leaked thread my guess would be wait until they find a way to fix it, I'm sure they will get it fixed so you can flash again pretty soon. They will either have to figure out how to push root on or a way to flash a recovery... though I'm not a dev so don't quote me just a guess

GAPPS - 20121127
my config: cm7 - Franco's kernel - all the plug-in.
why I prefer to GB? because it hasn't gpu acceleration, the boot is much fuster, it doesn't have the isseues that i had with JB (sometimes the keyboard didn't feet the screen, the contacts numbers appeared with seconds of delay),my phone reaches 1300 of OC and LiveOc without freeze or high battery drain (goooood for game!), and finally it is MORE STABLE!
do you want see my benchmark? HERE
My OC Config? 1200 mhz max - 100 mhz min - 104% Live oc (1248mhz-104mhz) - ondemand - deadline
My Volt? 1450 Max arm - 1375mV for 1200mhz - 1250mV for 1000mhz .... the other voltages are stock.
When a JB rom (and i tried a lot of those!) will have this features, i will upgrade my nexus, for now i'm very happy with the old good Gingerbread.
You can find all the projects in my GDrive area, so, if a link on xda will die in future, the rom/kernel are alive.
if you have other good and old rom or kernel post it in this thread, so i will add it!
Do you want Gingerbread but you don't like Gingerbread style? Renew your GB experience with Roboto Font and ICS themes!

this is the Nexus S section.
THIS is your section
Would have been nice if my launcher fix got credited and not renamed... you know, since I did it.
Same for the ROM file names, renaming them won't help people find them as easily when using a search engine. Just a heads up.
fsck
Hum, sorry, I simply didn't know that the launcher fix is your, sorry.
For filename, I don't think that the original file name will help users, however I will rename those zip. :highfive:

It's just that these zips were named like that originally. Someone looking for those will likely try to search for the original filename rather than a random one, and it helps the search engine index it if it's tied to something already searched "often". It's up to you, simply a heads up. =)
And yes, the fix is mine. Did it for lurtis.
I've never gotten benchmark scores like this...loving oxygen 2.3.7 running franco kernel! Thanks for keeping this alive

First impressions on this rom for about two and half hours of using..
Didnt expected that rom will be smoother than clean cm10.1(atleast for me).Everythimg works nice and smooth and hwa fc only when i install apps(not everytime).Keep up the good work and thanks for this beautiful rom
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
Problems:
1. HWA settings FCing continuously.
2. Torch (quick panel) not switching off.
3. Audiorouting issue.
4. Date&Time: Time Zone sets to GMT +00:00. I'm in GMT +05:30 and connected to WiFi.
5. Dialer: When you press a key, the highlight in the dialer is white, same as the background colour. This is really annoying and makes calling someone quite troublesome.
6. Auto-unlock (lockscreen): Unlocks automatically after exiting the 'add widget' screen/menu.
7. Volume: Ringtone volume level is really low (system level at max).
Apart from that, awesome ROM.:good:
Also, dude does your ROM support the 3.0.31 kernel or the sd ext scripts (INT2EXT+,A2SD++,A2SDX) ?
EDIT1: Kernel 3.0.31 works!
EDIT2: Music appears and contacts import no longer hangs.
EDIT3: HWA Settings stopped FCing after flashing 3.0.31 kernel.
EDIT4: Amarullz script not working (bootloop), Link2SD can't create mount script and CronMod scripts have no apparent effect.

I knew about the audio issue, thought I'd list it anyways. The torch bug is when using the quick tile.
Also, Link2SD is unable to create scripts...?
CronMod scripts A2SD++ and INT2EXT+ get flashed properly, without causing bootloop, however there is no increase in space. The scripts have an absolute 0 effect. And they still make the phone lag a bit.:crying:

Installed the 3.0.31 kernel and yes there are no HWA setting errors. Infact this kernel makes the ROM butter smooth .
Only issues with the ROM., as pointed out by someone is the white background in the contacts and messaging apps making it difficult to reach the fonts that are in light grey. IF that can be changed, this will be the best ever Xperiance ROM for JB 4.2.2.

Thanx but that kernel cannot be used because it is just a modded kernel with just a change in kernel version and about the white background the xperia z too has white background but can change the colours of the font to black !!!

u r running JB on 279MB RAM and along with HALO which further uses loads of RAM..
but i myself am using this rom, and i dont experience such sluggish behavior..
use a better phone or stick to gingerbread based roms..
One quick question howd you get bln working on mardons kernel? Last i knew he was having trouble with it. By the way good port bro looks very promising bro.

Well, I do like the ROM but not a fan of HALO. I tested the ROM and everything works fine so no problems here. Just really do not like HALO
Bln is not working due to kernel. Still a good rom halo takes a lil getting used to but its just a neat feature I think. Keep up the good work. Will be my daily for a while.
