Verizon Wireless RAZR m in Italy? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I currently live in the states and have the razr m on verizon. I am going to be going on a vacation to Italy for 2 weeks and was wondering if my RAZR m will work over there or if I will get charged a bunch of fees for using it there.
Thanks in advance for any info!

Droid X Mods-Overseas???

just a simple question..i tried to find it on here, yet cant. i am seriously thinking of getting a droid x , i currently have a flashed htc touch hd (awesome!!) i am in the army and getting stationed overseas in japan. now the droid x is a cdma phone and there is cdma service in japan. my question is if i get the droid x and root it , is there a way to use the service in japan? if so how?
It's up to the carrier if they can add a meid
They probably will though since the US is the only place in the world that goes out of their way to restrict what people can do with their phones or where they can use them.

[Q] Using VZW Droid X in India

I have a Verizon Motorola Droid X
CDMA from the USA which I wish to
unlock and use on a CDMA network
like Reliance or Tata Indicom in
India. Would really appreciate your
help. Thak you in advance.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. Should ne the same as flashing the dx to cricket.
Too bad there's no "DROID x india users" thread...lol.
I would search around a bit, maybe other forums as well. Been here for a couple years never seen this type of request. Good luck to you!

importing a razr m to the uk

i take it there is nothing stopping the m working outside of usa? has anyone imported a m and how easy was it?
I would recommend you to stick with razr i since i bought razr m on ebay and it is perfectly fine but a lot of non working bloatware and not officially supported. Like everytime you turn on the fone it said sim card was from unknown source..

That should only happen on a RAZR M if you are trying to use a SIM card from a US Carrier - there should be no issues, even with a RAZR M that has a locked boot loader, using a SIM card from Europe or Asia. All the RAZR Ms come carrier unlocked out of the box.

As someone else said, the RAZR i is sold directly in the UK and (assuming its the Retail SIM unlocked model, not the carrier branded one) its bootloader unlockable. Any M you order besides the Verizon Dev Edition is going to have a locked bootloader.
I got one working perfectly in Chile, i just inserted my microSIM, set network mode to GSM/UMTS, configured my APN, and it's working.
The only caveat is that every time you turn on the phone it displays a "SIM card from unknown source" message.
Peace.
The M is going to be released in Australia at the end of this month for an outright price off $600AUD and totally unlocked. Why are you after the M over the I?

why did you go for the m over the i? the i is available in germany too? i've decided not to import the m now. too much hassle if things go wrong or i get a dud. i've had 2 razr i now. the first had audio output issues and a yellow tinge screen. the second, no audio issues and a much cleaner, crisper non yellow tunge screen! :victory:

I think the RAZR M has much better hardware then the RAZR I ( LTE, Bluetooth 4, Glonass, S-GPS...) for the same price.
Benchmark results + 10-30 %
Thats all.
do you mind me asking which retailer you imported from?
my son was for school exchange in the USA and bought it on amazon wireless.
No shipping ..
ooooo nice. much easier!

[Q] Domestic GSM carriers on Verizon RAZR M or USCC Electrify M?

Is this possible at all? Everything I have seen pertains to the Droid RAZR, Droid Bionic or Photon 4G.
I am using a Verizon branded RAZR M on T-Mobile getting H+ data (haven't officially checked the speeds yet).
While it took some work to get things functional, so far so good!
As far as I know the Electrify does not have GSM capabilities.

I checked USCC site and they don't list it as a World Phone. Ugh, there go my hopes.
In regards to Verizon RAZR M, is it already unlocked for domestic GSM or what has to be done? Can it be unlocked via a utility such as RadioComm or do I have to pay for an unlock code?
You do not need to purchase an unlocking code. There is a thread in this sub forum that talks about the gsm unlock using a program called RadioComm. The instructions are very easy to follow. I am on my mobile now so I will link the thread in an edit.
