Wireless charging dock - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have any idea on when or if LG are going to start selling the wireless docking charger it was one of the big things Google hyped up before release.

The charging orb? Google has it on sale right now.
Edit: Well, I thought they did. A friend of mine ordered one. I just can't find them. WTF?

[Q] Wireless Charge Dock

Hey everyone.
Reason, I started this thread. Is to find out what everyone is using. When it comes to the wireless docks out there.. I'm currently looking at the Nokia one. What is everyone else looking into? Currently awaiting the release of the cube for the N4. Not available yet tho.

That one looks good too. I was reading around to see if the palm touchstone works.. But it doesn't! I want something like the stone.

At the moment, no one really knows anything about the official orb. I didn't want to wait to unleash the potential of this awesome technology so I bought a Maxell wireless charging mat. It works perfectly, and if you're interested then I just suggest getting one now. When the official one comes out you can just place it somewhere else in the house/office, which is what I'm going to do.

That orb looks sweet. Someone had a great idea, get the orb for the car and place it on the dash
The mat would work for my home or office. Looking around for some what and orb like the palm stone.

Qi portable battery video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mFFQtGqZh8&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Now where can I buy this? Posted 6 months a go...
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Had anyone even heard of this? Am I the only one interested?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Haven't heard of it, but definitely interested. Sent an email to the folks at the website listed in the description yesterday. I'll report when they reply.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Got a reply from Enlight Etech... the company who makes the charger. He confirms the company makes the charger. I replied asking for more info (will it work with the nexus 4, price, etc). Would've asked these questions in the first email, but I was expecting this to be vaporware since I couldn't find a way to buy it online. Will keep you all posted.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
doesnt look good if that video was 6 months ago and the charger is not for sale anywhere. it looks like just a research sample and would need a distributor to place a large order for them to go into production.
Any response from them on availablity?
All I could find was their spec sheet... (which I can't post the URL to )

Cool, I just posted that question on Amazon. Let me know if you hear anything.
Interesting... Wonder if I can get it in the UK
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Any reponse yet? odd they haven't announced this on their website
Can't see it in the UK Amazon
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
The description at the bottom states it comes with a universal power supply. That might mean it does have a US adapter.
Another thing I've noticed is I don't see a "qi" logo anywhere. Does that mean its not certified?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
I'd buy this, I have a couple of their portable battery's, and they're great. Also their custom support is fantastic. A cable on one of my battery's broke completely my fault, and they sent in a new battery. I would also love to see a review!

Well I ordered this earlier today. So I'll check back in a few days when I get it, unless someone beats me to it.

I've emailed the seller, but since it's Sunday I don't really expect a reply until tomorrow. Will be sure to update once I get the reply.

I just went ahead and ordered one. I don't want to miss out like I have on some of the others.
If it doesn't work out amazon has a great return policy.
I'll be sure to leave feedback when I get it.

was from 16th dec to 16th Jan , guess they forgot to remove the message
Almost pulled the trigger but the power port's position seems really awkward, it should be on the opposite side imo
Which do you think is more worth it? This or the Zens one? They are both around the same price...

UK best qi chargers

Hi, I am looking to get hold of some qi chargers in the UK and as Google still see fit not to provide us with any orbs I was wondering from the range of qi chargers available - which is the one to get in the UK?
a little ebay search returns :
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_n...+wireless+charger+nexus+4&_osacat=0&_from=R40
but there are some mentioned here that you cant get on ebay. I.e. the ones that were given out for free at CES 2013 that someone posted a while back. Anyone have any definate reccomendations for purchasing or should I hold out hope for Google who just never say when they will or will not allow me to buy something from them .
I
Wondered the same myself since wireless charging unit disappeared from the UK play store

really interested in this one:

looks like perfect feature set:
micro USB,
good size
Cool, I just bought one off that guy in Harrow - shame it comes in only white, why White?!
Anyhow - it arrives wednesday next week - will let you know my thoughts on it. I was thinking of doing a mod with it for the car so when Play do actually stock the official one, I can pick one of them up for the room.
I bought the Zens one from Amazon Germany... Although it was shipped to me from Dunfermline (only 30 miles up the road so quite rapid shipping )

What was the advantage of buying from Amazon DE? At the moment its more expensive pre shipping . what did you pay?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
and how come on Amazon.de you can get
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00AW8TCSG/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=ce-de
but you cant get that from Amazon UK
I do sort of refuse to part with £50 for a charger though. It seems crazy! I struggled to part with £30 for the other one above off ebay.

Key advantage when I ordered was that they had it on sale... A-UK didn't even have one listed (any... Not just the Zens)
I've got a Maxell Air Voltage one. It only comes with a mains cable, but works well. I stick it on there over night and then in the morning just pick it up and go. It's about £40 so a bit more expensive than the eBay ones, but it works for me.
I have just ordered this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221166419716?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 It seems to be a good price. I will let you know how I get on when it arrives.
If it was me and I was going to spend £40 on a wireless charger and couldn't get the Google Orb one, I'd get the Nokia one. Think it looks coolest.

Cheers
I'm gonna order one but the black is out of stock.
Might just get the white one.
so I went for the £28 one from Ebay. £30 delivered. Its from a guy in the UK who must be importing them from China in bulk.
Its pretty good so far. It uses a 2A 5V USB charger cable. I tried it on my 700mA samsung charger cable and this wasnt really enough to get the connection stable.
It is extreemly slidey - the surface it lays on must be flat as a pancake.
It has a little green led to say it is on and a blue one to say it is charging that flashes.
I doubt I would want this as a bed-side charger.
The car doesnt also offer enough juice to charge using this. Perhaps 1A isnt enough?
Im pretty chuffed for £30. I couldnt ask for more. Ill buy the official one when it comes out as I do want a bed-side charger.
I have noticed it gets very warm. I guess this was to be expected. It is a bit of a novelty, I suppose I would prefer it if this had some kind of small cradle to hold the phone within, and it would be nicer if it was black too.
I might try to mod it slightly, paint it black and put some small mounting pegs on it perhaps?
Who knows...

Extra Battery???

I always buy extra batteries for my phone. Note 3 being no different. I've searched and searched and can't find one being sold yet. That's ridiculous. How hard it is to sell some extra batteries for goodness sake.
I purchased an extra battery kit from Clove online which stated they had them in stock. Turns out they don't actually so don't be fooled. Sometime late October to November I guess. This package will have exactly what I get for all my phones an extra battery (I'm a hardcore user and so I always get two spares) and an external battery charger. Will be awesome when I finally get it.
Anyone else have this same trouble? Has anyone gotten it yet?

They seem to be on par so far. I used Battery Monitor Widget to determine that they are 3200mAh batteries n not cheap knock offs with false mAh advertisement. Unless BMW can't be trusted which to my knowledge is trusted. They're good so far. I like the charger too. Seems to be sturdy unlike the charger some batteries come with. Give it a shot bud. Expedited shipping was only a few dollars more n well worth it. I think I paid $40 in general but it's worth it because they seem to be working well so far

I use Hyperion as my spare battery for S3, it lasts as long as stock and NFC works (although I hardly ever use it)
Finally got my Hyperion batteries and charger. I LOVE them. To be honest one of the Hyperion batteries lasts longer than my factory Samsung one lol. The charger is awesome and will hopefully let me charge batteries in the future since it adjusts to each battery. Crap for instructions came with it but YouTube is full of help for them and common sense helps. All around great purchase and got 2 batteries and an external charger for half the price of a Samsung battery (paid $30 on eBay).
Recommend Hyperion batteries to all.
