Try another application for view, for ex. QuickPic if there is the same issue.

Hard to say what is the cause for this. The safest way to find it out is to backup data and make factory reset.
If problem solved issue was caused by some application, if not you can have also hw problem.

Dave, how many images do you have in that folder? the only thing I can think of that might cause all those symptoms is having an over-stuffed folder maybe.
Nah, stock images folder. It had worked after last hard reset, just noticed the problem the other day. Must be something I installed though it is pretty close to stock. I'm resisting doing a hard reset just for this problem, but I may give in if there are no solutions. Thanks for thought.

caused by either a hardware or just a faulty camera app,
try doing what he said,
if that does not work,
try re-flashing to stock,
if still does not work,
it is a hardware issue and needs to be repaired by a licensed technician

Ah I see. There was no physical damage to the device so it has to be an app related issue or the HW has gone bonkers.
1) Also, could this be related to the fact that even in games, I have to tilt the phone a little to the other side to go straight.
2) Thank you to shivamsejal for the app but is there any risk in replacing a system app by an app provided by a new member? If yes, what kind of risks? Also, do I install it using astro?
Thank you

[Q] Gallery not working android 4.2.2

As a complete newby I hope I am doing this correctly. My problem is that since updating to android 4.2.2 I have noticed that Gallery is not working. I have also rooted my Nexus 7 so is it possible that this is the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

thats not a fix, its an alternative.
and he didnt ask for an alternative. he wants a solution to the problem.
OP, try a hard reset, this may help with the gallery npot opening
Does it show up under "All Apps"? I had a similar problem, and it was somehow disabled from there.. no idea why, but I just re enabled it.

You make it sound as if this is normal; it is not. Gallery works just fine.
Maybe the OP can specify the actual problem...

Yes it does show under all apps. Not quite sure what you mean by re enabled. If you mean touching it and placing it on the Home screen. I did that and it places it there but when I try to open it a window comes up saying "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped". I have noticed that when I access the list of apps via "Settings" it is not listed, could this be the problem?

The problem is that when I try to open the Gallery it opens a message "Unfortunately Gallery has stopped". I have just noticed that I get the same message when I try to open the camera app.

Did you clear cache and data of Google+ AND Gallery itself ?
If you did then try remembering if you installed any new app(s) recently and uninstall them.

I cleared cache and data of Google+., but and this may be the problem Gallery is not listed in the Apps list under settings.
I have just rooted my Nexus 7 so I may have to go back to the beginning. Thanks for help though.:crying:

When you go to the Apps in the Settings SWIPE TWICE to the left for section ALL and then scroll down to the Gallery.

Thanks very much. That worked, which allowed me to clear the data and cache, but the same window appears even after completely shutting the device down and restarting. As I said earlier I think I will have to un-root the device and start again.

Perhaps you should look at logcat and see if it has anything of use in it. Perhaps you have a corrupt image, although I'd think the media scanner would just skip it.

I think I have resolved the issue. I have un-rooted and re-rooted the device and it all seems ok. Thank you and everyone who tried to help.:good:

Doesn't make much sense, but try installing Flipboard again;
Also check if are there any update related with google apps; :cyclops:
I would try to reinstall it all, and clean the cache and data of the related app and facebook too.
Good luck and let me know what happen. :good::fingers-crossed:

I'm pretty sure a factory reset will do it. You might just "dirty flash" your rom again, so you wont lose anything in the internal sd.
Good luck, and hope this will do it! :fingers-crossed:

Google location history duplicates

Hello! Every time I perform a factory reset or I change ROM a new copy of my device appears in google location history list. Is there anyone who found a solution to this no harmful but annoying situation? Thanks!

I don't think so. Every time you flash a new ROM, Google and lot's of other services will think that you got a new phone.
If you use Titanium Backup, you can try restoring the device ID before signing in to Google. TiBU will ask you automatically if you want to keep the new or restore the old. That might work, but I've never paid attention...

After 28 days they drop off the list if not used. You could also delete them by going to settings->google->sign in and security->device access. Touch a device and click remove.

Removal from Google account doesn't work. Waiting 28 days should work because I don't see my old device copies. Thanks for help!
