[Q] Stuck in eternal "recovery and super unstable cm 10.1" - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I tried installing CM 10.1 but accidentally loaded the screenshot unstable 4.2. Now every time I try to go into recovery and install the stable CM 10, although on my storage is not recognised by the recovery and only sees the 10.1. What can I do ?

Galaxy tab 10.1 Boot Loop

Since I was stupid enough to flash the wrong version of a the metro ui theme for the galaxy tab 10.1, I'm now stuck in a boot loop. The only issue is that I don't have a nandroid back up on the tab itself, it's on my pc. Another issue is that the zip file of my rom also isn't in my tablet storage, as the developers only way to fix boot loop issues was to flash the rom you had. Anyone have any ideas of what I can do? I can't mount as a usb storage in cwm v5.1 as i get the "unable to open ums lunfile" error.
Go into download mode and Odin back to stock is all I can think of. Or Odin a different version of CWM
thank god for odin

Get CWM 6 flashed onto your device and wipe. If need be, then install CM10 again with gapps without rebooting. Also, are you using the right gapps? CWM 6 will be in the same place as the CM10 downloads called recovery, be sure to download from http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10/ and choose the right device.

Multiple TF101 issues

Hi all,
Few problems with my TF101. I was running Cyanogen mod rom (not sure witch version, the boot screen was an alien in a vortex). Anyway i was getting some random reboots and the tablet started booting into CWM every time. I have tried several versions of CWM and other recoveries but none will install. In CWM i select the zip install-success, hard reboot and the pad again boots to CWM recovery v5.8.3.4. (also i cant access my external SD with this version of CWM)
While this is a nuisance the latest issue is than no custom will boot. They stick on the boot animation (i have waited up to 4 hours). The only rom that works is Revolver 4.2.1 but wifi does not work.
When i try to install stock roms in CWM it aborts with no error.
When I install the recovery installer APK it reboots to CWM v5.8.3.4 and does nothing
My ideal end state is a functioning CM rom and CWM that boots correctly.
Any ideas folks?
fixed my CWM issue with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29632231&postcount=3
I then installed the recovery apk and wsa able to install CM V6

[SOLVED] What recovery should I use with CM 10?

I got bored today and decided to pull out the old N7, 2012 version. I update recovery to TWRP 2.8.7.0, installed CM 12.1, realized this tablet crawls with any version of Android other than shipped version, so I went and got CM 10 and GApps for JB, wiped and flashed them back on. I didn't see any errors when flashing them, but when rebooting after, it just boot loops. I see the Google logo with the unlocked icon at bottom, then reboot and back to Google/unlocked again. So I wipe and reflash cm12.1 and it's GApps and all boots and works fine, other than being slow. I'm assuming the recovery is the problem as I've run into something similar before on another device, but in that case, the recovery was too old and needed updated, but it makes sense that a recovery could be too new as well.
Am I correct that the recovery is the problem? If so, what should I run for CM 10 to flash and work?
Try cwm recovery

I don't' know if it was using CWM or that I also tried CM 10.2 at the same time, but it's working now. On CyanogenMod's own page, there was no MD5 for CM10, but there was for CM10.2, so it's possible my copy of CM10 was a bad download. Either way, it's working now, so thank you good sir, or madam, or person on no specific gender.

Rebooting into recovery when booting (Optimized Cyanogenmod 12.1)

Hello, my S4 is running Multirom 32b (TouchWiz 5.0.1 and JDCTeam Optimized 12.1), and when booting, I press cancel when multirom is booting so I can select optimized CM 12.1 instead of Touchwiz, then after selecting Cyanogenmod 12.1, it reboots into twrp. From there, i can reboot to system and then cyanogenmod 12.1 is brought to life, but is there anyway I can make it boot straight to the ROM instead of going into recovery and rebooting from there? Thanks!
