can anyone send PICTURE messages SMS via the nexus 4 on rogers network using LTEmobile.apn or the default settings ?
i cannot ! please tell me what settings to use
when i try to send, it just 'hangs' and says 'Sending...." but of course it never sends the picture
should i try these settings from googling?
Rogers Wireless Canada
You will need to create two APN's
For Internet
Name: Rogers
APN: internet.com
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
Leave all other settings Blank.
For MMS
Name: Rogers MMS
APN: media.com
Username: media
Password: mda01
Server: 172.25.0.107
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
APN Type: mms
The phone is not even made for LTE....
It should work just like that by attaching a photo and hit send. It if doesn't send, then it has something to do with your plan or carrier.
Use a alternative app for now to send MMS.

I have textplus app. Itsbetter to send pic SMS via ur data plan free SMS not thru linked url
Iadded that 2nd apn rogers media com settings and it works now!

Can anyone help me?! I got my nexus one today and love it but for some reason I'm not getting any data connection at all. Wifi works fine just no data.
I'm in the UK and on o2. I don't think its the sim card because I get hsdpa on my HTC hero.
Thanks in advance
You put in the correct APN settings?
Go to Settings->Wireless & network settings->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names
You should have one automatically put there called 'O2 UK' or similar (I have one for T-Mobile UK).
Otherwise you'll have to set one up manually:
Pay and go:
Apn: payandgo.o2.co.uk
username: vertigo
password: password
Contract:
Apn: mobile.o2.co.uk
username: vertigo
password: password
O2 may not have 3G in your area.. hence the value of an unlocked phone .
Also if you've not used that SIM before make sure you have selected a data tariff first.
Ahhh! Thank you so much that worked perfectly....full data connection now
Just thought i'd contribute a little
for those that want full o2 3g and mms working these settings should work:
1st APN
Name: O2 Internet
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
username: vertigo
password: password
MCC:234
MNC 10
APN type: default (actually type in default, don't leave it blank)
All others remain as "not set".
2nd APN
Name: O2 MMS
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
proxy: http://wap.o2.co.uk
port:9201
username: o2wap
password: password
server: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
mmsc: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
mms proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
APN type: mms (type in mms dont leave it blank)
you'll be sending mms in no time
Oh yeah you might find that pics dont send full size via o2. That's because the o2 MMS servers wont recognise the Nexus so... You can download Handcent SMS and in the app settings you can change the phone's user agent to show as a Nokia N95 or Iphone 3gs.
That'll make picutres go through properly
Hope this helps someone
Dave
non of the settings seem to work with O2 pas as you go , i had similar tourble with HTC Diamond , since the connection was different compared to a monthly plan SIM. any suggestions?
oh i got it :
Name : O2 Pay As You Go
APN: payandgo.02.co.uk
Proxy: 193.113.200.195
Port:8080
Username:vertigo
Passwordassword
MCC:234
MNC:10
leave the rest blank , and voila .
remember this is only for UK O2 pay as you go (Bolt Ons)
cheers
What t-mobile MMS settings are you guys using on your N1's?
I am on T-zones which gets me 3G access on the cheap, but my picture messages aren't getting through.
Here is what I use:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
(No username or password)
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Try using apn: epc.tmobile.com
I had the same trouble with Telia in Sweden.
And I found that the stock messaging app doesn't resize the pictures enough to go through the operators messaging size quota. 300kb in Telias case.
I resolved the problem with installing Hancent which resizes the pictures enought to be able to send them.
i Cant Send Or Receive Pics And
I Have Try Many APN Setting And Never Work The Setting That i Using Right Now Are

Ive never been able use MMS with any Android build, although setting up data is easy.
I think its because the data+MMS setting are mixid in the same netowork config.
If anyone knows the mixed setting for O2 prepay in UK id be very greatfull, ta.
Oh, when creating MMS the pic is now downsized to <50kb so thats ok.
I presume its best to send yourself a pic message?
or you should try this build. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820696
I've been using my unlocked g2 for several weeks now and still have been unable to send or receive mms messages. This morning, I tried downloading a picture message about 20 times, all the while driving through supposed 5 bar coverage and it failed everytime. Someone help please...

What carrier do you have it unlocked for? You have to change mms setting according to carrier.

So you are saying your MMSC, MMC and MNC settings are empty?
edit --
If they are, try these
(ALL under MMSC
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: 066.209.011.032
MMS Port: 80
and make sure the very bottom setting APN TYPE has mms in it (mine says default, supl, mms)

My phone has:
MMS Port: 8080
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
I set mine as follows and I was able to download the picture that I was having trouble downloading before. Are the settings you guys outlined "better" or just different options?
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: Not set
APN type: Not set

My HTC Magic isn't sending mms messages. Using the default app, if i send, they simply say sending permanently. When I recieve and press download, the button disappears and nothing happens.
I did a factory reset, which did change the mms apn settings, but I am still unable to use mms messages.
You need to change your APN for your MMS.
there are a few different ones, try this one. This is the one I use
Name: Rogers MMS
APN: media.com
Username: media
Password: mda01
Server: 172.25.0.107
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC :302 (should already be filled in)
MNC: either 720 or 72 depending on your SIM card (should already be filled in)
APN Type: mms
Leave all other settings blank.
Seems like I was putting grps instead of gprs. Derp.
Thanks, gotta be more attentive next time.
