ROM With Best Battery Life - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I recently got the Nexus 4 and I love it except for the battery life.
I was wondering if there were any roms that would retain the stock feel (no other features added) and have great battery life?
I have also not rooted my phone and installed recovery so if someone could guide me, then that would be appreciated.
Thanks!

MiNCO v6 ROM is what you want.

ROM has little or nothing to do with battery life. You can keep the stock ROM and just use a custom kernel like Franco or faux.

Help with changing Sprint boot up screen to a custom one?

Has anyone figured out how to get rid of the sprint boot up screen?

And I believe you have to have a kernel that supports custom boot animations.

Looking for simple guide for root and tether

I'm about to pickup a gs4 and would like to know the simplest way to wifi tether. I don't want to install custom roms, would rather just root and install an app if this is possible, as can be done for the gs3. Can anyone point me to some posts or videos on doing this w/ the latest OTA (MJA) installed?
Thanks!!
Qbking.

[Q] Upgrading from 4.2 to 4.4

My Google powers are wearing out, so I figure I will ask directly.
I am currently rooted, running the stock ROM on my L720. The android version is 4.2.2 and the build is JDQ39.L720VPUAMDL. I want to upgrade to 4.4, but I want to either keep it rooted or be able to reroot the phone.
Currently I can turn on my Hotspot with no additional app. I want to be able to continue using my phone as a HS. This is essential. A functionality my phone doesn't have is the ability to move apps to SD.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. (And I'm sure this question is asked a thousand times a day, but google and search are failing me ) Thank you so much!
Odin NAE tar, root, flash hotspot mod. Done.

Is this like Sprint's android version of herpes?
I admit that I am a bit confused. Do I need to unroot my phone before I do this? I hate asking for help, but I really don't want to screw up my hotspot

Hahah it can be compared to that , although I swear I wouldn't know.
To understand Knox, Google it and read up on it. Its just a Samsung warranty /security thing. Most of us don't care having it or tripping the Knox flag.

You don't need to unroot to Odin a tar file.

If you decide you don't want Knox, this would be the thread you want. Follow the directions correctly and you should be up and running. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277480

But you can root stock, install Xposed and install these:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.zst.xposed.halo.floatingwindow
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.nagopy.android.xposed.utilities
And for pie you can use this:
