[Request] Tux Rider Abandoned - Update Needed - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried to get the dev's attention every way possible. The sole problem is the turning is set up portrait when the display is landscape. This, naturally causes tux to veer to the right when held normally.
I imagine the fix would likely be very brief to just swap a few things around in the line of code dealing with orientation.
Tux rider being a fork off the classic Tux Racer, I think a lot of people would get enjoyment out of the game.

Thanks in advance.

Possible to dissable screen water timeout?

Hello all
Is it possible to stop the timeout when you hold the touchscreen down too long in one place which I believe is the water droplet feature?

Seconded.

+1. It's extremely annoying in emulators and games such as Jet Car Stunts.
No dev knows? come on people please

The search button is up there^^, top right!
If you are talking about the screen timeout, you can always download and use the screenon widget from the market...

i can't be hassled to find the post, but i remember reading in the CM7 thread a developer stating the raindrop feature of our phones is in the PDS partition, which isn't touched by anyone since it's one of the parts in our software that can cause hard bricking if something is done wrong.
so, until a workaround is found or a change is released by Motorola, we're stuck with it.

I'm also having problems with Instacrap, specifically the hipster talent results. Every time I try to edit a photo it turns out looking like a polaroid or a hemorrhoid. I keep hearing iprone users say they deleted photoshop and turned their real cameras into lamps and ashtrays, but I must be missing something. Is the android version different? I've noticed better results when I ran out of toilet paper and had to use people magazine to wipe! Maybe I could write an app that smears poop on photos...
Anybody have trouble posting pics? Mines keep saying its too small and I know that's not the case because I have my resolution up to the highest.

I feel the same way...personally I can't see why everyone is getting all frothy over an app that makes pictures that look like they came from cameras that need to be thrown away.
Not only that but it's a 12MB install!

it isn't about the filters, there are several Android apps with much better filters and more variety. Instagram is about the built-in community.

how NOT to show off your phone

So I pulled out my phone today at a bar and was doing some reading.
Someone next to me was like, "WHOA BIG PHONE" and next thing you know, I have 5 people surrounding me @@ing at the Note.
So I'm flipping around, and someone says, 'Can you show a video?' and I'm like 'Sure!'
So I go into app folders (I have tons of apps, so it's all sorted out). click on gallery. Not found. What? Oh - I had ROMed to ICS two days ago.
Click on Videos. Not found. Great.
Clicking around folders trying to find the new video player and everyone left thinking, 'Gee, this phone is sure hard to use' and dispersed. oops.
I did, yet again, get the 'it's a little computer' comment - I think it's because of the folders/subdirectories I use in app folders.

You should learn more about Android OS, and teach how to configure it.

I have 2 questions....

OK, first off let me start by saying that this tablet is amazing. For 200 bucks it cannot be beat. I am very happy with my purchase.
My first question is just out of curiosity, I remember when I was watching the reviews for the nexus 7 when it was first announced, When you booted up the device it had a really cool splash screen that had an animation that went from top to bottom I'm not sure if any of you remember it. Was this removed because I do not have this splash screen on my device. Mine is just the big glowing X.
My second question is when I go into google now I noticed in a lot of screenshots the background on the top menu portion would change depending on your location. I live in new york and I happen to come across a screenshot of someone's google now and it had the menu with the brooklyn bridge on it which looks pretty awesome. unfortunately mine only has mountains which is what it came with by default. I know it depends on location but if I live in new york why isn't it changing my background in the menu? I have all of my location services active so I don't think that's the problem. Is there anyway I could push this over to my device. Thanks in advance.

the splash screen you referred to might be the developers version of nexus 7..i think
The new splashcreen is stock jelly bean.

from the comments on that video:
This is the old one. They removed it after the OTA. The OTA was released a couple of hours after the tablets were given out. I pulled the animation as soon as I turned that sucker on. I have made it available on Aniboot ( play.google.com/store/apps/det*ails?id=com.socaldevs.aniboot ) It currently is on both 1280x720 and 1280x800 devices, soon to be tested on 1024x800 devices. App needs root, but its completely worth it. Go check it out!

Fl studio on N7 which ROM and kernel?

Anyone tried flstudio with custom ROM or kernel? Please post your feedback...

I'm using pa3.56 with stock kenel. No complaints, well worth the money. I even stopped using it on the comp. Not as many features as it does tho. The touch interface is really nice to work with and makes it so much easier in my opinion.
As far as the app itself, no slow downs, stutters, hiccups or force closes. Best used with actual headphones not the ear buds or apple. I'm just using a pair of $20 dollar Sony studio headphones with no complaints.

Thanks for that - anyone using with a custom kernel? any ideas if it will work (there is a warning on the app description that root and custom kernels can cause issues...)
I'll flash a kernel tomorrow if no one else gets to it. I used to flash them but kinda got pointless considering I'm not power hungry with my n7 lol. Any particular kernel you want me to try? I already have Franco and bricked.

Try m-kernel, once i finish moving into my new place and get settled with my finances i really want to buy fl studio and play around with it, i remember making some sweet stuff a few years back on PC, I'm excited to see what they have brought to the table with a mobile app.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Well, it wasn't horrible, but not to keep with the kernel. Going back to stock.
I noticed the app did take longer to load, maybe by a few seconds. When I was dragging tracks over to loop longer I noticed it doubled the track a few times. I experienced a few hiccups in time where I couldn't keep the beat playing piano.
Over all, the app is great and can't wait for the update where you can add your own stuff like the guitar. But the developer is right about kernels causing an issue. I can vouch custom ROMs don't at least.

thanks for trying - good to know... i have bought reloop and it is very laggy on my N7 with faux kernel and stock rom, it runs much better on my xperiaT with stock kernel and rom so i guess original kernel perform better in this cases...
