Have you set the APN settings for your network?
No How can do that?
Would that also affect the phone making emergency calls?
Cheers
I broke mine too
I broke my calling ability by deleting the myfaves app. oops. Fortunately, I was able to install jf again to fix it.

Strange Problem Regarding 3G

I've had a few users of my ROM mention that they can't use the phone and still have 3G active at the same time. As soon as you make a call, the 3G connection stops.
I've tested this myself...the 3G icon still shows, but no data can transfer until the call is ended...a good way to test is to do a speed test or download while making a call.
They say the stock Telstra ROM does let you do both, so obviously I have missed something somewhere...
Does anyone know what it could be?
Appreciate any help on this one...
oh! maybe im wrong but if you are using 3G data call you must to wait for it to end, then make a voice call
According to the user, you canuse 3G data connection to download and still make a voice call at the same time on the official ROMs. On my ROM it doesn't work.
neither in my rom you know...
In the canvas mui.. are a dialog square saying... please wait til the data call ends to make a new voice call.
Maybe im wrong.
Yea, they don't want to make a data call and voice call...they just want to keep using 3g data connection while making a voice call...they dont want to make a data call.
try using telstra dialer and dependent pkgs see if it works then.

SMS wont work after installing CM7.2

I installing CM7.2 and SMS no longer works.
I have tried,
installing new SMS program.
Going threw settings but cant see anything out of the ordinary.
Changing the SMSC to the one for my carrier both in normal format and in PDU format
rebooting after every change
going on telstra website and asking to be sent the settings
Oh re changing the settings in baseband switcher
Nothing works, Is it as simple as something is disabled?
I wish I could find a rom that would work without crashing or things not working!
I had problem connecting to Telstra 3G (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1634366#). But works fine on 2G. Is this similar to you?
connects to 3g fine. Just wont send SMS messages. It hasnt sent one all day but I made plenty of calls and been on the net. Whiterabbit I had a little trouble with network not connecting when I disable juice defender but could call and send SMS.
Looks like its back to ICS again! I dont use the camera at all so thats the only problem I come across.
ok wont work on CM9 as well what the hell is going on? the SMSC is right so it cant be that!
Maybe telstra SMS service is down?
Ok put my sim card into my old sony ericsson cedar and it wont send.
Should of done that first now I flashed a ROM for no reason

:D Very good
Ok I rang telstra and they reset the account all is working again. The service people dont have a clue. They didnt even know how to get into change the SMSC number, Lucky I did if I didnt there would be no way I would find it. It was right anyway and they gave me the +61 number that doesnt work on androids lol no clue at all.
Now I have reinstalled CM7.2 again! telstra are a pain in the arse.

Not registered on network

Hello.
I have Galaxy S4 I9500.
I am having the problem "Not registered on network" when I try to make calls.
I can't make or receive calls, or send or get SMS, but I can use the operator's network, I do get mobile data.
I sometimes can make or receive calls, but it happens only when I enable airplane mode and then disable it, I can make calls for a short time, and then I get the problem again.
Anyone have a solution for this problem?
And my IMEI fits the IMEI in the box.

Something is wrong with your network settings. Call your operator and get them to tell you what access point settings to use.
Alternatively take it in and have them fix it.

You will have to use ODIN and flash the FIRMWARE again
Are you sure your phone's not barred? Still receiving data but no calls or sms indicates that it is.

Well how can I know if it is barred? because I don't think so.
I can use the network operator's internet though.
Call up your network and ask them, or use a checker site for your country (normally a small fee).
Did you buy it 2nd hand?

No, it's a new phone.
I am pretty sure it's not barred because I can make calls sometimes, but when I get the message "Refreshes SIM Data" I suddenly can't make calls.

The system is ok now. Do a FACTORY RESET:
From your home screen press the apps icon in the lower right corner.
Find and press the settings icon.
In the upper end of the screen press the accounts tab.
in the bottom of the next screen press the Backup and reset button.
Press the factory data reset.
Read the info on your cell phone screen and hit Reset device.
*EDIT: The error that appears is the SIM CARD maybe. Try or buy other one hi5.

Outgoing call waiting notification

Is outgoing call waiting notification not working in all custom ROMs? Cause it was working normally in stock Rom
For example if you called someone and that one have a phone call, you have a notification that the person you are calling is having a call
I've the reverse issue
From the 2 SIM's, one is always unable to knock in notify.
For a SIM which you use data also, the call knock in notify is possible. But for the other SIM which is only phone, it's grayed out, unable to set the knock in notify.

Try the following:
1. Install the latest RRemix ROM(0327)
2. Disable VoLTE
After a several reboots, it seems to me that in the GSM setting now it's possible to set the Call Waiting. It doesn't thow error messages now.
(I'm using this ROM since a few hrs only, but looks stable, even the GSM settings too)
