Good morning,
thank you for your answer!
My tablet is an "A70 Internet Tablet", under linux the mounted filesystem called "A70S".
I have just downloaded the new one "1.5" but there is no difference between the "1.4". I have no softbutttons and a space on the top of the screen. The file in the tar.gz is calling unpacked "openaos-cm_V1.4_OK_A70.img". It seems like the same file from yesterday. An error?
I will send you an screenshot in a few times (today)
greetings
Thomas

Hi,
there is absolutly no entry for the density in the /system/build.prop and I cannot make an entry because I have no back button and cannot navigate in the system. Also I have no root file manager.

[Q] galaxy y screen resolution issue

i downloaded lcd density modder..
after opening it... i just applied the density without noticing it (supposed to be the system density 160 dpi and i didnt chose any other density)
after the phone rebooted.. on my lock screen.. the keyboard became too big to fit on the screen and i was unable to unlock the screen because the *next* button went out of screen
i booted phone in recovery and formatted it
but when the phone rebooted... the icons were too big to fit in the screen..
only 2 rows of icons appeared on the screen...
lcd density modder was not apllying any density permanently..
i had to edit the build.prop file
i set the system density to 120 to make icons fit on the screen like before..
but some apps like go sms pro are not working... is there anyway to return the phone to original state??
setting lcd density to 160 makes icons too big to fit on the screen again
Same case and i just flash with odin. But maybe u can use backup recovery or in advance level use adb tool in windows to remove that application.
-Just Farmer and Newbie Android-
do you have a backup for build.prop?

120,
if you get any market incompatibility issues, clear data for market from app manager.
bro download root explorer and open build.prop in text editor located at system/
and look for lcd density or like something and change the value from 160 to 120 that company default
and just restart phone
and just for remember if you format your phone or reset it just delet your applications and accounts and restore settings
hope its simple for you
if I help u press thanks button

what do you mean with "make a new flash" ? My problem is the icons of my SGY is too big and it can't fit the screen and most of the icons are no longer visible..I accidentally activate one of the features in Droid Overclock "Enable Animation" and after reboot, my problem started that time. I reset it to factory default but nothing happens. I cannot use my SGY anymore..Other forums said that maybe it is in the LCD Density..Now my other problem is how to access the system using PC? --rooted SGY thanks.

You have it in JetMOD. And be carefull with trying build.prop now without custom recovery. You can get stuck on logo, like I did. And then you need to flash fw again. On TWRP or CWM you can do backup, and restore when you want.

I just get in one, added those lines with Solid Explorer. Maybe I should change permissions... And I give up modding untill TWRP or CWM.
Use root explorer to add the lines. So root is needed.
I use JB and it word great. It is safe to do it, no bootloops ore anything.
Just copy/paste after the last lines in build.prop and reboot.

Is it possible that a bootloop only appears if you remove the very last blank line (a line without content) in the build.prop?
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9070P
@VooDoo` yes, u must leave that blank line, and never use notepad in windows to edit unix files, use notepad++ instead or do it inside android
debug.sf.hw=1 line is on default build.prop so it's unnecesary, the second one is like go to developer settings and enable "force gpu rendering"?
Im trying with this parameter:
Code:
debug.hwui.render_dirty_regions=false
setting this to true, like this:
Code:
debug.hwui.render_dirty_regions=true
can anyone confirm if its giving less lag?

Hi all, I know that this is not a question related to Sexynogen Rom, but I hope you could help me.
The problem is: I need to create an init.d script that erase the entire content of a folder on boot of the phone so I'll explain you what I did... Maybe someone can explain me where I'm wrong.
I've created a .sh file with this simple string
Code:
rm -rf /sdcard/splitter/*
I've called this file elimina.sh and put it inside /data/ with 777 permissions (rwx-rwx-rwx)
So I've created a file with no extension with this lines
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
run_program("/data/elimina.sh", "");
I've put it inside init.d folder with rwx-rx-rx permissions but when I restart the phone, the files inside the folder are still there.
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance

Stefano

Thank you very much for your interest in my stupid vicissitude.
I've solved with Script Manager from Play Store, but I'll try to explain you what was my problem.
I've installed an app that create an unnecessary folder that grew size at each utilization of it, so, to avoid that this folder became too big (and my /sdcard/ became full), I've tought that maybe with an init.d script I should delete all the files inside this folder on boot.
So I tried to write a simple script but it doesn't work, so I've decided to use Script Manager (like @ktulu84 suggested to me).
If you can help me so I have not to use Script Manager it would be great, otherwise I'll continue to use that app.

I found it at your main thread of sexynogen
battery life is not rom dependent. memorize it.
if someone calling himself romdev done his job right battery life will be = stock firmware.
if he screwed up it will bee draining, lagging, restarting and so on.
nothing can be done aside of not using data connection/wifi setting brighteness to low and cpu to consrvative and downlclocking it.
but that could be done on stock firmware also, like such with no firmware alteration, standby drain

[WiFi] DHCP accelerator

Hi,
I've been finding DHCP was fairly slow on Android, and I took a quick look at what could be done.
cf http://cafbit.com/entry/rapid_dhcp_or_how_do for the theoritical details
The actual patch is partly from chromiumos, and 5 trivial lines from me
Attached is a dhcpcd binary
Replace your system/bin/dhcpcd with this one, and it should be way faster.
It has been successfully tested on a CodeAurora Qualcomm 4.4 firmware, a MTK 4.4 firmware, and a Nexus9 AOSP 5.0 firmware.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58713128&postcount=75 for update.zip of v3
ChangeLog:
v1:
- per-ssid lease
v2:
- ARP before DHCP request to determine if previous IP/router/dns was good
v3:
- Delete one useless script call, and 1024 useless fd close
v4:
- Revert v2 change
it looks cool thanks i will try it ! can u explain what u did Exactly ? ^^ (en details ^^)

There are two parts:
- First, it is to have a different lease file by AP name (the lease file has the last IP the device got, if you changed WiFi network, this IP was wrong...): in read_lease and write_lease
- One is well explained in the article I mentioned before (basically it tests if the IP routeur he got last time still works, if so, he kind-of bypass actual DHCP), original patch comes from chromium os: http://git.chromium.org/gitweb/?p=c...ff;h=d390ef100b42b7d58a8c59c13b3f6dca7eeb3232
(I see a most-likely security flaw: with a wifi named ../../../...something)

Sorry, you're right, you have to rename dhcpcd-bin to /system/bin/dhcpcd
trying on htc one m8 now thanks
DHCP connection is faster than before. Yes its working on Android 4.4.4
Thanks! Is there any possible drawback of this implementation compared to the normal one?
Not working on my galaxy tab 2 7.0 running CM12.
Had to format system and reflash ROM as it messed it up and WiFi was no longer connecting to router even if I placed back the original file.
You have been warned by me.

dhcpcd is there in cataclysm, but looking through system/bin using root explorer couldn't see it, don't know if it hide by itself.
But still, I able to replace it. So it works good.
