[Tutorial] Fix FOTA bricked (unlocked bootloader) Phones
Hi,
This will fix your unlocked Phones which got bricked through OTA update and are dead now!
Please download this package:
Let it extract to a destination of your choice.
After that run Flashtool.exe.
Now hit the button FLASH and select the package which is included.
Follow the steps and connect your phone in flashmode. This is the same mode Pc Companion and SEUS uses to flash your phone to newer firmare (Indicated by green LED), if you got BLUE LED you are in the wrong mode!
Flashtool will now detect your phone and start the repair.
After all is done your phone should be up and running again.
ADVICE:
PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY OTA'S ! If you receive a OTA message just decline, if you accept it you will end with a brick AGAIN! So please do NOT accept them until SonyEricsson provides a OTA solution for unlocked Bootloaders!
Best Regards

Help me with my Bloody hell Asus Zenfone 5

I want to update the firmware
Therefore, i get into bootloader but i cant access the recovery mode
I have try several ways, like 'adb reboot recovery' , use manual update 'copy the firmware.zip into my SD card', or just unroot the device and try again the step i had done but it didn't really help
The result, my device won't update. . .the notification 'bout 'ASUS Software update' keep showing up til' now
Thank you. . .
Hi, what firmware are you on right now? Why don't you just update through OTA update?

Restore baseband and imei to make sim work again

Hello everyone.
I rooted my phone (os was marshmallow) with android lollipop procedure, so i soft bricked the phone.
I flashed with fastboot various versions of huawei p8 lite firmware, all of these were 5.0.1.
When I managed to unbrick my phone I found out that it can't read the sim, so I looked in settings and IMEI and BASEBAND were disappeared.
Probably direct downgrade from marshmallow to lollipop caused this.
By the way, I managed to solve all my problems.
I will write what I've done here. I hope will be helpful. To start: my model is ALE-L21 (Single Sim).
- Download B041c (if you search in google you will find various results, all taking to the same site). I'll explain this better after *
- Flash with fastboot B041c
- Download B133 (this is very easy to find, but if you have problems search in a site called carbontesla)
- Unpack B133 dload folder (you will find custom folder too, don't worry about it) and put dload folder in the root of your sdcard
- Go to Settings -> Updater -> Local Update and start B133 update. Phone will boot. The upgrade process should be done with phone chargend and unplugged from PC.
- At some points update could appear stucked (for me was at 15% and 85%) but be hopeful and it will continue (let be patient).
- Phone will boot and your sim after 4-5 seconds will work again!
* B041c is hard to find. At this time only one site have it. I can't link you this site, because the downloader you get from this site installs adware on your pc while it download B041c. I have had to solve my problem so I proceded at my own risk.
Updater will notify you about the update to B183. It doesn't worked to me! If you want to update your phone you can install firmware B171 and install it as update (in dload folder)
UPDATE TO MARSHMALLOW
- If you want to update your phone to marshmallow you have to download other two firmwares (B171 and the MM you want. I used B551)
- Put the dload folder of B171 in your sd card, turn off your phone and force flash (VOLUP + VOLDOWN + POWER buttons). It may appear stucked at 19% and 85%. Don't worry, be patient!
- When phone boot is completed, put dload folder of your MM firmware in your sdcard, turn off the phone and force upgrade (VOLUP + VOLDOWN + POWER buttons). It will take 15-20 minutes.
- When installation is completed and phone boots, turn it off again, enter in recovery mode (VOL UP + POWER button) and clear data and cache.
- Now you have a clean install of MM! However, some applications may be old (play store). If you have connected our phone to a network, play store will update automatically
SOLVE BALONG BUG
You can find easliy the solution in the forum. But to be a complete guide and make your life a lot way easier here is the solution.
Simply put UPDATE.APP of custom folder that you can find in some firmware (I used B049 custom folder) in your sd card and then update from settings or from force update. Is a 20KB file so it will be very fast to install

Samsung Galaxy On5 bricked, Odin doesnt work, Kies doesnt work, any options?

The only thing I can successfully do with odin is flash the bootloader. I have the full firmware file, but whenever I try flashing anything but the bootloader, FRP Lock blocks it or it fails in odin. I know the exact reason that the phone is bricked, my OEM Unlock setting in developer settings got turned off and I have a rooted binary, so now whenever it trys to boot up, a little red message shows up in the top left for the first few seconds of boot, then the phone shuts off completely. No other thread provides any solution for my situation. Odin wont flash any firmware and I cant get into TWRP anymore as well. Does anyone know what to do? I have a replacement coming from T Mobile in a few weeks but I want to try and fix this thing.
In first use srktool and if does not work use sp flashtool and download on5 scatter files for flash
sent from Farzad's mate
what and where to find scatter file?

That's for mtk devices only, and will probably brick op's device even more
Retry Kies.
In the back of phone under battery look for make name (Sould look like SM-G5xxxx) and S/N
Make copy on windows txt file
Boot phone into Download Mode but dont plug into usb yet.
Open Kies on Windows select tools, then firmware upgrade and initialization. Enter your make click ok then enter your S/N click ok. Plug phone into usb and keep clicking ok untill you see downloading firmware

1)To be say honestly downgrading is not officially supported by Samsung also But yes you can successfully downgrade to 6.0.1 from 7.0 (I personally downgraded to 6.0.1 once successfully due to issues on stock 7.0)
2)You only need to follow the guide as instructed carefully Also the version of 6.0.1 MM you will choose to downgrade to should be latest dated (I mean the latest 6.0.1 firmware for your device and country available on Sammobile.com casually)
3)Hence you can find some instructions within my own Post in which i mentioned step by step installations instructions (Go To Page No 65 And Find My Post In Reply To Okiera29 There Regarding Downgrading To MM From Nougat)

Ok thank you for your reply, I understand. I also had some trouble with drk verity fail issue when I factory reset because I run into issue with my efs, it was failing to boot ,but after searching the internet I found out how to fix the efs issue and then I flash stock over and then run into trouble with drk verity fail issue, but found a script to bypass this error ,but I read that whenever I flash or factory reset I will run into this drk verity fail issue again, so I must flash this script to bypass this error.
So my question after all i have explain is, will it be a problem to downgade to 6.0 because of those previous issues ?

1)Can't say exactly without trying or downgrading firmware as i said already neither samsung nor any community will officially support downgrading of firmware as it may cause various baseband and imei related issues due to downgrading of bootloader
2)But for safety you can take full Nandroid backup of your current stable rom using TWRP and Try to downgrade firmware at your own risk

What version of Smart Switch offers initialization for SM-N920C Note 5's? The latest version doesn't include initialization anymore at all, and an older version I tried stated that initialization was not supported for Note 5's.
All right, I'll see what i do.
Thank you very much.

Possibly Dead Device? [P8/P9 Lite (2017)][PRA-LX1]

Urgent help needed as I'm leaving the country at the end of the week o any help is appreciated!
Just successfully rooted my device:
Black, Unlocked, PRA-LX1, UK, Dual SIM
After doing so successfully, I attempted to flash LineageOS from the following link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/p8-lite-2017-development/rom-lineageos-15-1-hi6250-devices-t3811583
Although when I completed Step 6 on the Installation guide and rebooted the phone, I started seeing the message:
------------------
ERROR MODE
Attention!
Please update system again
(Green Android picture)
Error!
Func NO : 11 (recovery image)
Error NO : 2 (load failed!)
------------------
Despite this, I didn't receive a box with my phone due to being second hand, and I didn't see the model number on the receipt as it was from a reselling store. I didn't remember to note down the specific model number
It'd be extremely helpful if someone could possibly help just from the device description above as I'm not sure if it's safe for me to just attempt to flash every stock rom for every other LX1 device out there.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Update:
To restore this, I connected via fastboot with a working USB & flashed an original stock recovery in the video found here
(Just in case their download link ever goes down, I have uploaded the same copy to my MEGA, found here)
The recovery installed fine when using the command
fastboot flash recovery oeminfo.img
Click to collapse
Whenever trying to flash any other recovery such as twrp before this fastboot stuck on a loading icon.
The stock recovery seems to be downloading the original firmware, too.
PRA-LX1C432B202 is presumably the model.
Both the bootloader and FRA were unlocked when everything else was inaccessible.
Looks like the custom ROM's recovery that you've flashed is not compatible with PRA-LX1. Try to flash stock recovery. If not working, then flash stock firmware.
Thanks @Botar230!
I didn't see your comment until just now after deciding to edit this post since I've gotten a step closer to restoring my device.
Your solution was the method I used although I didn't know my phone model, so I found a random solution which just worked for my device, and the eRecovery seems to be downloading the stock firmware anyways. Thanks again
Before flashing this lineage os you should update to EMUI8 to get treble support, i suppose you was running EMUI5, hence the error mode.
