i have tryet go in to where you se the green android man and then in to recovery mode but my nexus 7 wont get in to the recovcery mode and i dont know what to do i need help i need help.....:crying::crying::crying::crying:
To keep it simple:
(I hope your device is bootloadr unlocked and rooted, if not, it's a different ball game)
Download Nexus 7 toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809195) and install it.
Install Nexus 7 drivers, if you did not install them already (from toolkit - select your device type and select 1 on toolkit action menu)
Power down Nexus, then press Volume down and Power simultaneously until you see Android guy on its back with open keypad inside.
Connect Nexus to PC, restart the toolkit
select your device type and select 6 on action menu
select recovery type you like (CWM or TWRP, I use TWRP) and flash it
Now you should be able to enter recovery
Hope it helps.
Don't necessarily even need to go through the hassle of installing a toolkit. Just hold all three hardware buttons for approximately 30 seconds to simulate a battery pull and have it reboot to the bootloader.
It sounds as though the op either tried a dirty flash or had a corrupted download. Either scenario is easily avoidable, but they should be able to just get into recovery and either flash the nandroid that they should have made prior to this or properly flash PA if they neglected to wipe data and cache before flashing the first time around.

Greetings,
I have successfully unlocked and rooted my Nexus 7. Now I'm attempting to flash CWM to the device, and it seems to have successfully gone, however I can't seem to boot to it. I've used the Google Nexus 7 Toolkit V2 which says it successfully flashed it, but still am unable to boot into cwm.
After shutting down the device I hold the up + down + power buttons down and all it does is boots into fastboot mode. If I let go of the buttons when I see the google image then the device just boots normally. Can anyone clarify what I'm doing wrong here? Cheers.
From fastboot, if you hook up your nexus to the computer, with the cable included then select 'recovery' by toggling thru the choices with volume and using the power button to select, it should boot into cwm. It only boots when connected to a computer, it's a known bug Next time do a forum search, dont start a new thread.

same problem like you,
i install rom toobox from market.
in that app, use rebooter, then choose reboot into recovery.

After using the Nexus 7 Toolkit to unlock, root, and install a custom recovery, I installed the latest CM nightly, gapps, and went along my merry way. Some time later, I came back to find my tablet looping the CM boot animation - so I did a three finger reset, booted to recovery, and tried wiping data + cache and re-installing the ROM - no dice.
Okay, since I can get to the bootloader, I figure I'll use the Nexus 7 Toolkit to reinstall a factory image. I go through the process - fastboot commands work - but at the end of installing the factory image I'm still left at a loop of the Nexus boot animation.X. Repeat with different factory images, check MD5s, repeat using the Nexus Root Toolkit instead, then manually, no luck.
Finally, one time after another install of the factory image, the power button won't reset the device. Hold power button 10, 20, 30 seconds - no response. I can no longer get into fastboot to continue troubleshooting - just stuck at the nexus X animation on loop forever. If I plug it into a PC, I do get a "installing device drivers" pop-up, but holding power, power & volume-up, power & volume-down, power & volume up & volume down - all have the same result, which is nothing.
Searched the forum and found a lot of "nexus 7 bricked"/"nexus 7 bootloop" threads - but none in which the power button wouldn't reset the device. Looking for any advice that can be offered on this issue, thanks.
Edit: Spoke with nexus support - says to let the device die, and take it from there. (I'll add updates if I have any luck.)
talk to whoever posted the root toolkits you used, as nexus devices dont need root toolkits.
Make sure you have the most current boot loader.

The toolkit is just a program with shorcut scripts for unlocking, rooting, and executing fastboot/adb commands. But I'll look into it.

Can't exactly check the bootloader since I'm stuck on the nexus X, but last I was able to, the 3.41 bootloader was what was installed.
Sorry for my bad english, as it's not my first language.
I am currently try to make a Nexus 10 into normal state. Actually, it's not my Nexus 10, but a friend.
He is trying to root with Nexus 10 Toolkit, but it seems it's brick.
The current sympton is if booting, the X logo won't dissapear. I have tried to let it go for 30 minutes, so it's confirmed "cannot go to Android OS".
I have searched here and tried as many solutions as possible, but seems I can't get it booted.
I don't have much knowledge in manual adb and others, but I capable of using Nexus 10 Toolkit.
I own Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, and unlock bootloader + root + install cwm just find using Nexus 4 Toolkit and Nexus 7 Toolkit.
I am very grateful if there is anyone can help me resolve this problem.
Thank you
Before worrying too much, I'll admit that my Nexus 10 was one of the longer rooting devices I've every owned. I'm fairly certain my was stuck at the boot logo for over an hour before finally booting up after running the N10 Rootkit.
Assuming that this hang is on the last boot of the rooting process (i.e. bootloader was already unlocked, rooted factory rom image pushed and custom recovery pushed), your best route may be to hold power down to kill the device and then reboot into fastboot (hold power, volume up and down), then follow onscreen options to get into recovery.
From there you can use adb to push a custom rom image onto the device (pick anyone, they're all pretty sweet). Use the adb push command; "adb push custom_rom.zip /path/to/sd/partition", obviously replace "custom_rom.zip" with the name of the rom you downloaded, and if it's not in the directory you're running adb from, provide the full path to it on your computer. In addition, "/path/to/sd/partition" on most Nexus 10's will be "/storage/emulated/0/sdcard/" however, you can look for yours by running "adb shell" and then cd'ing and ls'ing until you find where your SD directory is.
1. Reboot into bootloader by holding power, vol up and down, and wait till screen appears
2. Select Recovery using volume rocker. Hit power to select. You'll get the android mascot with the red exclamation point.
4. Press Power and Volume Up at the same time (this is the side of the volume rocker that is away from the power button for those new to the device).
5. Choose to wipe all data. Confirm the selection.
6. Reboot.

Do what this guy says. Getting stuck in a bootloop during the unlocking process is somewhat of a bug with Android 4.2.1 and is quite common. Doing a factory reset fixes it.
sorry do not know English.
Bricks Nexus 10, my device is unlocked and the root.
The writing google (open padlock) is blocked.
When I go into recovery mode opens TWRP.
Here I made the cache, Dalvik cache, factory reset and system.
How can I fix please.
If there is a person who write in Italian is better.
thanks
hello
after i try to unlock the bootloader my nexus stuck in "X" (with toolkit 2.0)
and the recovery mod is not work (Attachments)
I had the same problem when unlocking mine, reboot into fast boot and use the volume buttons to change the select option to recover and hit power, you should get a picture of an android with a red triangle that's normal , then try a couple times to hit the power and both volume buttons to boot into the stock recovery and then do a full wipe and factory reset (wipe both cache and dalvik cache just yo be safe) you may have to do this more then once, I did but it fixed the problem

Just get back into recovery and factory reset. This is a common issue when unlocking bootloader.
Please help as I seem to have placed my Nexus 10 into a Bootloop state through Nexus Root Toolkit 1.6.8 by WugFresh. I have been attempting to enter into Recovery following the steps outlined here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239524). However, the tablet never seems to enter Recovery mode. At best I get a blank screen that eventually comes around to an unusable Bootloader. By unusable, I mean the volume buttons do not progress through the options. If select Recovery on a functional Bootloader and simply press the Power button. The tablet will cycle through to an Android with the red symbol.
Now the Toolkit no longer even see's my device even though Win 8 Device Manager shows the Android Bootloader Interface. There are no devices listed with the exclamation point warning symbol.
This is only my third attempt at Unlocking and Rooting a device. The first two times were successful on an HTC phone and a Samsung Tab 7". I do not know where to go from here and really need help fixing my Nexus 10.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Edit: I figured out how to access Recovery. I needed to use power + volume up once on the screen with the Android avatar and red symbol.

Before discovering how to enter Recovery properly, I did end up flashing to stock. Unfortunately, I am unable to get ADB to recognize my Nexus 10 using Wug's scripts, even though the ADB installer see's the unit. I believe this is a Windows 8 issue, but I am not 100% positive. That said, I did further research and found another method using the Fastboot command line which did work. My Nexus 10 is now unlocked and rooted. I wish I had kept the thread's URL to the other method.
I wonder if my issue's come from not uninstalling the Samsung G3 through device manager as I did my Nexus 10. I did uninstall though the USB app found within Wug's, but that may not have been enough. That is certainly something I shall try in the future.
Hi I've been an avid flasher for years without problems but today I have a huge problem!!
I flashed xenon s latest and flashed gapps via Cwm but it wouldn't boot so when I rebooted it just goes into a bootloop into recovery but it only loads the recovery slightly before rebooting again.
I've tried entering the bootloader by powering off etc and holding volume +&- and power but still can't enter
I've also tried pulling the battery and trying but still no luck
Please can anyone help

Here is my solution step by step.
1 install 'wugs root toolkit & skipsoft android toolkit

}
2 install USB drivers from skipsoft as its easier - select option 1 after entering the main menu
3 you need to select the build of your custom ROM in wugsfresh toolkit 4.1/4.2/4.4 etc (this is important as if you choose the wrong build it won't work straight away and you will have to try each build individually).
4.in wugsfresh select "soft bricked" and select "launch advanced Utilities"
5.select (boot temporary _ custom Recovery) and execute
now connect your n7 with the usb
6 you will see prompts on the screen saying Rebooting into bootloader and at this point press the volume down button constantly if you get a prompt "device not found......" Just press OK and follow the procedure again until your bootloader starts( of it doesn't work try a different build
7 once you bootloader starts unplug your USB instantly and then scroll down using the volume keys and select "reboot bootloader"
8 close wugsfresh "Ctrl+alt &del and end process" and restart your computer
9 after pc reboot enter the skipsoft toolkit and you can connect your n7 (still in bootloader mode) via usb
10 select your build and download the recoveries when prompted
11 when in the main menu select option 6 "flash custom recovery" and select twrp only
12 flash away (if it doesn't detect your n7 (reboot bootloader on your n7) and try again
13 once you've flashed successfully (on your n7 scroll down and select reboot into recovery and twrp should load.
14 from here you can install your desired ROM with a otg cable or from a ROM on you devices storage but if you don't have a otg cable or a rom on your storage go to the next step
15 download your desired ROM and place it on your PCs hard drive. Open wugsfresh toolkit and select launch utilities again
16 select "flash zip -file is on the computer"and press OK when prompted and select your downloaded ROM /enable wipe selected partitions and select data cache and dalvic and then confirm operation
17 you will see a prompt stating "sending ROM.......to device" this will take sometime be patient once it's completed it will reboot your device back into twrp recovery and the file will be on your devices storage in a folder called "ready to flash" and the rest is up to you.
18 once your booted into your device os you can reflash your desired recovery with the toolkit of your choice
Hope this helps
Wow, did you just trial and error your way through that?

Wow, I was hoping someone would find a solution to this unstoppable boot loop. Awesome work 1eyedmonster!
I gave this a try since I like many others flashed XenonHD with CWM as my recovery and fell into the boot loop too, but how were you able to get step 6? I been trying to get the tablet into the bootloader when the message appears in wugfresh while pressing volume down, but then fails to reboot into it and the status will then show checking fastboot and fails. So I try it again but still having trouble and it just keeps going from the google logo then to CWM and then back to the google logo. Checked the drivers and it shows as ADB in the device manager when CWM pops up so drivers seem good.
Since my build was 4.4.2 I tried custom rom KK and standard 4.4.2 when selecting the build, but not sure what I might be doing wrong.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

firstly if your in the bootloop due to xennon then you need to take the back off the nexus7 and unplug the battery. once its been off for 10 seconds plug the battery back in (not the usb) below is a screenshot of the wugsfresh toolkit make sure you highlight the same boxes as me
if you installed xennon then you need to install 4.4.2 KOT49H.

Hi, Shabby...
I've found the easiest way of removing the back, is to begin at the top (opposite end to the USB port)... slide a fingernail under the plastic back and gently prise it away. Then slowly work your way around both left and right edges with your fingernails. You shouldn't need to use any real force; once you've got the process started, the back should pretty much just 'pop' off.
To put it back on... reverse the process... begin at the bottom (USB end)... and apply gentle pressure, equally on both right and left hand sides... slowly working your way up to the top. You should 'feel' it begin to snap back into place.
-----------------------------------------------
Incidentally, I really hope this method discovered by @1eyedmonster works for you... and anybody else afflicted by the decidedly toxic combination of Xenon and CWM.

Warning! This method will restore your tablet to factory defaults. I did not try to flash a custom recovery while in Fastboot Mode though Im sure that will work too if you just want to write a Recovery (TWRP... hint hint) and reflash a different ROM.
I'm convinced. This tablet must truly be unbrickable!!
I have found another fix and it was as easy as pie! Here's what I did... results may vary. Please post here if you had success or not. Also, you will need working adb for this to work as well as the ADB drivers installed and working.
For starters, this is the Epic Fail after flashing a ROM with CWM or Philz Recovery
What I found is that while on this screen you can still run adb commands. Eureka I thought! Here's the simplest way to recover your tablet from this vicious cycle. Again, you will need either need the Android SDK installed on your PC or you will need the adb executable with libs at minimum....
1. Download the Nakasi Nexus Factory Image of your choice from HERE
2. Plug your tablet into your computer while it's bootlooping. You will have to have the ADB drivers installed for this to work.
3. Open a command prompt on your PC and type in adb reboot bootloader and press Enter on your keyboard.
4. If you happened to catch it at the right moment, which is between the Google splash screen and the f*cked Recovery screen seen above, congrats! If not, keep pressing the Up Arrow and Enter keys simultaneously on your keyboard starting at the Google splash screen until it reboots into Fastboot mode
5. Extract the Nakasi factory image that you downloaded and run flash-all.bat and wait for the script to finish. It will reboot your tablet into Fastboot Mode a few times while it executes. When done, it will boot the tablet and it will be factory restored
Win!
