Not Receiving MMS from iphones - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been having issues receiving MMS from friends that have iPhones. I have never had an issue with an android user. I receive MMS from iphones at times but it's about 50/50. I will have good signal and data and so will they. They will resend and I still don't get anything on my end but it shows as sent on theirs. I have talked with tech and I reset my APN and still have the issue. Is this simply an iPhone to android transition problem or something else?

MMS Time Error

Right now I am using a Nexus One on AT&T. I plan to switch to T-Mobile soon, but for the time being, I'm stuck on AT&T. I don't know if the carrier pertains to the issue, but every time I send or recieve an MMS, my Nexus gives it some random time like "Sent at 16:53" when it's really only 16:01. Is there anyone else out there with similar issues, or a fix to this one that might be able to help me?

Sprint Cannot Send MMS

The issue has been happening to me recently (as well as my girlfriend, also on Sprint) that we cannot send MMS messages.
My phone is an Epic 4g Touch on AOKP and rooted, hers is a Nexus S 4g running stock.
No idea what is causing the issue, but whenever we try to send an MMS to someone it just sits there saying "Sending..." until it possibly errors out.

You may have to set APN settings manually.Ask your service provider for the settings.
Sprint uses CDMA unless Wimax or LTE is different. Have you called Sprint tech support at all?

Duplicate Text Messages

Hi all,
I just got a Nexus 4 and am using a prepaid T-Mobile Sim with the 100 minutes unlimited data/messaging plan. Everything is working great except I am receiving duplicate text messages most of the time someone messages me. I was wondering if there is an APN setting or something else I can do to try and fix this annoyance. Was wondering if anyone else was having this issue.
Thanks.
My friend had this same issue.
The way we fixed it was power off the phone, take out the sim, power back up, leave the phone for 5 min, and then power back off.
Popped the sim back in and it was fixed.
When I see them next I'll ask to check their APN to make sure.
Hope this works for you.

Is it from people who are on various networks? Sounds like it could be a problem on their end. Every once in a while I'll get duplicate texts from people on MetroPCS, or Sprint if their networks are on the fritz. So try to have people from different networks text you and see if you still have the problem,

Same problem with T-Mobile germany... Senders are in different networks. I am receiving single messages up to 8 times. This happened on the i9250 nexus before, too. Same number, different sim card, different phone. Maybe related to cyanogenmod 10.0/10.1, as i never experienced that issue in stock. (To be honest, i was never long in stock Rom). The Problem occurs most times Ehen the phone is rebooted, or comes out of flight mode.
Which roms are you using ?

In general it's usually because of the sending party. Did you port your number also as that does cause it most of the time?
Nope, i just got a new sim card from my provider. I am a t-mobile customer for 14 years now, and never ported that number to another carrier.

Not sure if you have noticed this, but it seems to happen when I briefly lose service. When I get signal back I have noticed that is when I am getting the duplicates. I've only been on T-Mobile for a few days after I ported my number from Verizon.

AW: Duplicate Text Messages
I made a support ticket @t-mobile germany. They told me, that this must be a bigger problem related to the network itself. The next time it happens they want me to call them and provide time of failure and number of sender to them.
But, it didn't happen again, yet.

How do you fix it? I ported my number from verizon but it just recently started happening (maybe the last few weeks),. Using PA, most updated version.

[Q] text messages over wifi on tmobile

I was wondering if you can send a receive text messages over wifi those that are meant for your phone number. I know i could use like aim or something. I ask because when i'm at home my service is very spotty if not even there most of the time and like to get my normal text msgs on a timely manner so is this possible on the nexus 4 thanks
I don't think so. Maybe over time hangouts will fix that.

Google Voice app uses data for SMS messages, just no MMS support.
Makes me kind of wish TMobile wifi Calling was available on the Nexus4 (had it on my G2/Desire-Z). And SMS/MMS did go over wifi when it was in use.
You can receive SMS from an email.
phone#@tmomail.net it is a workaround but not very intuitive.

MMS Not sending or recieving [Sprint]

So I just got this phone.
I was having horrible connectivity issues which I blamed for the MMS issue. Now, using the methods on here to activate bands 26/41 I'm hitting 4G LTE, though not super fast, but it's still something.
When I get an MMS (using Hangouts) it always says "Tap to download MMS message". Nothing I do seems to change this.
Is there any hope?
MMS via hangouts has been screwed up for quite awhile now and not just for Sprint - https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/hangouts/kzg-hqiDANc/QEtQb6SC22kJ

Thanks. I guess Google messing something up was the last thing I expected. Sucks.
