Can anyone help me make step by step how to push a ROM ( or any other files) to an Acer iconia ( A500 ) in twrp mode without boot image ??
and PLEASE CMIIW
1. download and install JDK-7-windows
2. download adt bundle from
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
3. download ACER iconia a500 USB driver from
http://support.acer.com/product/default.aspx?modelId=3851
4. Turn on computer in Recovery image by holding VOL DOWN+POWER BUTTON until it light ON
5. Plug in the USB port ( in your computer ) and the micro USB port ( in your ACER ICONIA A500 tablet )
6. Don't forget to unmount SYSTEM and DATA in Mount and Storage section in TWRP
7. in command prompt ( CMD ) : type adb push filename.ext /sdcard/destinationfilenameext
8 ( NEW ) : entered APX Mode, there's message on the status bar ( lower right of my windows screen : " ACER USB picasso successfully installed")
9. re-try the ADB... still got "error : no device found" message
What is going wrong ??
A.How can I check if the driver installed correctly
B. Did I missed something while installing the adk ( adt-bundle in my case)
C. Is my cable data error ??
Thanks a million
======================================================================================================================PS : This is my last operation with my tab
1. Bought Fresh Tablet from ACER store
2. Install CWM and flash ASUS TFT101 to my ACER ICONIA
3. Install ACER Recovery Installer from Google PLAY
4. ARI ( Acer Recovery Installer ) downloaded some option for me :
a. thor 1.3.4
b. thor 1.7
c. TWRP 2.X.X
d. TWRP 2.1.3
e. ACER ROM ( forgot the name )
as far as I remembered i clicked a,b, and e but nothing happened, the ROM like LOCKED in TFT101 ROM
I clicked on TWRP 2.1.3 and stucked in this boot imaged...
I think I somehow clicked the Wipe system in TWRP, but CURRENTLY, i still CAN Read the old folders on my ACER ICONIA TAB, including OLD application folders.
now my Acer A500 has new ROM, but the Q still remains : why I can't push while in recovery mode ?? Thanks

do you have the v8 bootloader?
it will depend on what rom you have now and which one you want to flash
usb device not found error is either cable or driver fault or you're not running the command as administrator and/or from the right folder.
ps what is CMIIW???

My mistake. That is the correct driver. Try the method I posted in your other thread.
Did It need to enter the APX mode ?? I dont think so, but I'm pretty confused about what to do..
The steps in the other thread are to be undertaken from your recovery.

what is v8 bootloader ? im going to try changing sdcard today, any idea how to push the file using usb connection ?
The V8 bootloader shows a green screen by default when it first boots instead of an Acer logo
Sent from my Kyocera Rise via Tapatalk
i c... btw, just asking can i just wipe everything then flash new ROM ... or will it stuck on something ?
yep format data, system, cache
put the 3.1 full update. zip on ur micro sdcard and rename it to update.zip
enter twrp and choose install update.zip
this will take u back to hc 3.1
while you are there get yr cpuid youll need it for the next step
you can flash the v8 from here which will allow you to install any custom ics or jb rom....you must have the v8 to install these roms...
youll also be asked to choose a custom recovery with the v8 .....choose cwm 1.7.3
there are guides in my sig or
see civato's guide in the bootloader sticky
read all the guides before u do anything,
all the info you need is in them....
take your time and go thru each step as they are written...this is very, very important..
best of luck

i tryed to install the new liquid rom with 3.0.0.5 and its hanging at the tmobile screen, ive let it sit for atleast 10 min and nothing happpens,my question is thathow do i change my clock work to a diffrent clockwork like 3.0.0.6,,plus my computer aint finding my phone when i plug in the usb i want to go back to stock but it still hangs and i did do a backup before hand, any help would b apprecitated thanks!!!!
CWM Recovery 3.0.0.5 is for Gingerbread (Android 2.3) based ROMs ONLY. You must use CWM Recovery 2.5.1.2 for Froyo (Android 2.2) based ROMs.
Use the correct version for nandroid backups, nandroid restores, and ROM flashing.
There is a special-made version of CWM Recovery for the MT4G called "3.0.0.6" that can support the filesystems of both Froyo and Gingerbread. Look for threads on it in the development sub forum.
how do i flash it on my phone i got the image how do i get it to flash over 3.0.0.5,im a noob can u tell how to do it frm my recovery menu

Assuming you mean CWMR 3.0.0.6, and that you have a Windows PC handy....
Step 1: If you already have the Android SDK installed on your PC, jump to Step 4.
Step 2: Boot your current version of CWM Recovery, use the mount menu to mount the SD card via USB, attach the phone to your PC and have Windows run the HTC driver installation program you find on the root of the SD card.
Step 3: Download and install the fastboot and adb programs, extracted from the SDK and made available to you here, per the instructions found therein.
Step 4: With the USB cable plugged in to your phone and PC, boot into the bootloader, it should automatically go into FASTBOOT USB mode. (From powered-off state, power on while volume down is being pressed to boot the bootloader.)
Step 5: Be sure you can communicate with the bootloader from the PC. You should get a response to "fastboot devices" with your phone's serial number.
Step 6: Unzip the 3.0.0.6 recovery image and stick it somewhere.
Step 7: run the following fastboot command from a Windows command window:
"fastboot flash recovery \path\to\your\copy\of\the\recovery.img"
---
Disclaimer:
I've not ever tried to flash anything with fastboot, myself, so I may have not given you a functional command.
New simple way to root by GALAXY TAB HACKS (THANKS)
not sure if this method has been mensioned in 10.1v forums but i noticed a few people still having trouble with root
so when i came across this i tried it on my 10.1v before posting
required windows computer and tab drivers, best way is to install kies software.
bootloader should be unlocked before rooting see chainfire's post.
1- download the attached required files.and extract
2- move the file "galaxy_tab_root_10.1.zip" to the tablet
3- start tab in download mode with powr+vol down combo,
4- start odin on pc and wait till the box goes yellow (means connected). select "recovery ...." file in PDA and flash.
5- after tab restarts making sure that usb debug is checked go to cmd prompt and type "c:\adb reboot recovery"
now tab will reboot into recovery, go to install files from sd select the above copied file and hit it and youre
ROOTED.
AS FOR CWM 5.0.2.7 (DROIDBASEMENT THANKS)
follow steps 3 and 4 using cwm 5 file and you will have latest (blue) recovery.
hope this comes in handy for people that are still struggling.
not easy enough for me
I fail to boot into recovery.
i assume this is in windows: cmd prompt and type "c:\adb reboot recovery"
then windows replies c:\adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Should I first install adb manually? Is there another way to boot into recovery?
Bjorn
That means you need to install drivers.
2nd thought do u have adb/sdk installed on your computer.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I don't think the drivers are the problem. I understood it is sufficient to install kies to get the drivers.
I do not have android adb/sdk on my computer and rather not install it. I am in Uganda and it is really difficult to install large software components with crappy internet connections.
It would be great if there was a way to boot into recovery from the tablet, without the need of a computer?
d
You can with rom manager, but you have to be rooted first, you can install the basic components of sdk, personally I haven't tried any other way.

problems with the last step
hello, i'am trying to root my galaxy 10.1v, i managed to follow the guide till the last step, but when i give the cmd command, the tablet reboots and it appears a green android logo with a yellow exclamation point in a tirangle in the middle... i tryied also other guides but they are to complicated for me, could someone please help me?
seems like it didn't install cwm
so...i followed every step but after entering recovery mode i noticed that it still has the original 3e recovery....i did it with odin over and over again...but still nothing. and however...which one should i install? the one you get after unziping tabrooteasy.zip or the one you get after unziping recovery-cwm_5.0.2.7-sam-ta.....?(i tried both and still showed 3e recovery but which one has to be installed?)

Hi
Im stuck in a horrible situation here,
I have been running clean rom on nexus for the past couple of days and decided to try another rom but i went into cmw mode and formated data and system and now i can boot my nexus or run cmw ??
Nexus root kit says im not in ADB mode and need to set nexus in debugging mode ARRRRGHHHHHH i cant because i cant load into JB ??
Help please anyone
Paul
Plug you tablet into the usb port on the computer..
hold the down vol key then hold the power key
Sometimes it takes a few times to get this to work .It should take you to the boot-loader screen . Use the vol + vol - key and scroll to where it says reboot boot-loader . or just boot-loader hit the power key..
you should now be able to get into cwm with the above and select recovery.. If that fails try below.. But much better tutorial on the programs thread ..
when you come back to the boot-loader screen you should see device found on your computer. Start the nexus root tool kit.. Go to advance and flash recovery partion back to cwm or twrp.. then flash custom rom..
silly guy you deleted the rom you were going to flash..
now you can also at where you get flash recovery . FLASH TWRP 2.2.2 I THINK (LATEST ..
PUT a rom on a flash drive .. using otg cable boot into TWRP AND You can flash the rom from otg storage..
hope this helps For some reason this device will hand with cwm without a usb cable connected to something powered.. can be another cell cable tv box your tv or anything .. Computer of course
I can load CMW now but its no use as i havent got a zip rom on the sdcard now grrrr

use the nexus tool.. to do the stock rom / unroot .. It will ask of your tablet can boot.. Select no..
it will boot you into fast boot and put a image back on your tablet....
You poor guy .. I think you need a hug...
OK i will write you a little guide to get you going again
This is pretty much what the scripts do, but you will be doing it by hand (always good to know what to do in case of emergency)
if you have the red triangle then you havnt flashed CWM, you are only booting it
1. Download the recovery.zip attached below
2. extract it to the root of your C: drive
3. open a command prompt (cmd) and CD to the directory
Code:
C:
cd recovery
4. rename your downloaded rom to rom.zip (for simplicity) and copy it into the recovery folder you extracted
there should now be 6 files in the folder
Code:
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
fastboot.exe
recovery.img
rom.zip
5. boot your phone into bootloader (power & volume)
plug N7 into PC
6. in your cmd window type
Code:
fastboot devices
(to make sure your N7 is detected)
you should see something like
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (BOOTLOADER)
7. type
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
about 20seconds and you should now be booted into Clockwork Mod
8. go to mounts & storage and click on mount /data (not sure if this is neccessary but do it anyway)
9. make sure your phone is detected in recovery by typing
Code:
adb devices
your should see
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (RECOVERY)
10.back to your cmd window and do
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard/
this will take a while to do (probably about 5 mins)
11. Once complete you can install the rom as usual in CWM
I did this once while setting up my dads n7. I wrongly assumed that cwr had USB storage mount as an option so I didn't copy the ROM over.
The best option for those in this situation without much hassle is to use the all in one toolkit to download and install stock ROM from fast boot. It will download stock image onto your PC and then flash it from fast boot. It will also reflash stock recovery.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I have had that android with red triangle twice. Believe me youre nexus is far from over. Just used the toolkit and flashed stock. Problem solved. When i used it there was an option that says...device on or cant boot up. So i just selected cant boot up. Put the device in bootloader and thats it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
that is correct, you cant mount usb storage, but you can quite easily adb push files from your pc to your /sdcard/ partition then just install them in CWM
i just got my N7 this afternoon, checked for defects, hastily download ParanoidAndroid N70000 (not realising that N70000 is the Galaxy note)
unlocked bootloader, flashed CWM
wiped System/Data then tried installing new rom only to realise that it wont install and because i have wiped system i have no android
easiest way for me was by downloading correct rom
adb push newrom.zip /sdcard/
then when you go to install my new rom is now on internal memory
Good day guys,
I need a help with my nexus 4, I had a rooted rom in my nexus 4 with clockwork mode recovery, I tried to wipe my data through clockwork mode but by mistake I did system wipe. Now there is no rom in the device, I can only access to fastboot mode and clockwork recovery mode, also I tried to install rom through toolkit but my PC & Mac doesn't read any device connected and no device shown in device manger in my windows 7 with using different usb cables and ports. I installed samsung drivers and adb drivers but still I cannot see the device in device manager.
Please if any body can help me to install rom back to my device.:crying:

In cwm there should be an option to mount the device as usb storage. Try that. It should let you plug the phone into the pc and simply copy the zip onto the phones internal sd.
If thats not working try this to set up the drivers. Then plug the phone in and boot into the bootloader/fastboot mode. The open command prompt and cd to the android-sdk/platform-tools directory. Then run the following command:
Code:
adb push /path/to/rom/on/pc/ /mnt/sdcard/
still not working
Still not connected to windows, I cannot do any thing with my device
Download any ROM and do the following:
1. Connect phone to PC when in fastboot
2. Install drivers (if required)
3. Flash latest version of CWM using fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
4. Reboot phone into fastboot using fastboot reboot-bootloader
5. Boot into CWM
6. Install drivers (if required)
7. Select 'Install via sideload'
8. Flash ROM using adb sideload name_of_rom.zip
9. Follow instructions in CWM
If that still doesn't work, go back to stock using this guide (and read ALL of it):

My problem now that I cannot connect my device to PC, I installed drivers every thing and when I open fast boot or recovery mode and plug the cable, nothing indicates on my PC that there is a device connected even device manager not showing any device connected... I am stuck now, I cannot install any rom to get phone life back.
don't worry! the biggest problem would be that you had no drivers installed!
nexus are super easy to recover and you can play with them safely (except if you flash wrongs kernels from other devices haha)
do what my mate gets up in the post! and it will fixed it.

It's not that it's not showing, it might already be installed correctly. When you have the Nexus 4 connect in fastboot it will show in Device Manager as 'Android Bootloader Interface' under the heading of 'Android Phone (see attached)

hi,
i had this issue for a while, the thing now is that my a500 is rooted with the a500 root tool, i have acer recovery installer
image number (Acer_AV041_A500_RV03RC01_WW_GEN1)
Build number (Acer_AV041_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1)
Recovery image set is CWM rev1.3.4 by thor2002ro (gives bootloader verification error) set by acer recovery installer
Bootloader version 0.03.12-ICS
usb isnt recognizing the device, cant use blackthnd3r APX flashtool or a500 manager or any other tool using usb. i tried to check for the usb using usbdeview the only way i can get to the device is with adb using tcp (connect thru wifi)
i think i can get in APX mode thru the a500 root tools cuz i get the black screen and the power light is on. i have my cpuid and SBK and a terminal emu on my a500 too i hope i gave sufficient info on this to help me.
any help? i need to unroot it or fix the bootloader issue or download another rom that could be better than what i got now
I dont know how i got into this, i been into some threads around here but im not that pro with this and i hope i get some help :crying::crying:

cuz i mentioned that cant flash anything to it, or is there a way i can flash without recovery mode or thru APX using usb?
This is a way via tablet. No pc adb etc. I rushed a bit... any recovery is ok (custom or stock) you enter it via power +vol up (i think) and than flash stock rom

First, you cannot install a custom recovery using acer recovery installer with 3.12 bootloader, this is why you are getting boot verification error.
To get a custom recovery on your tab you must flash the unlocked bootloader
To get the unlocked bootloader you must have
a) Your CPUID
b) Drivers - The acer drivers and the usb drivers
c) micro usb cable to connect to your PC
d) a PC running XP, Vista, win7 32bit system or ubuntu
e) Use icsRoot tool to delete the boot.p file (otherwise your custom recovery will be overwritten with the stock recovery (dead android) on reboot.
f) If you are already rooted check this file /system/boot.p - if its not there carry on
Once you have all this you can use the apxFlash tool to flash the bootloader.
You will need a custom rom on your ext sd card. After you've flashed the bootloader, enter recovery immediately, do the wipes and flash your rom. Done.

I'm not sure you're understanding the process.
The method I posted does not have anything to do with a rom. Its based on using apx mode.
A) Put yr tab in apx mode.
B) connect yr micro usb cable
C) check " safely remove hardware" icon for an "apx device"
If its listed there then follow the directions I posted.
If its not showing then you must install the drivers, as I posted above!! Nothing will work as it should, until you have both sets
of drivers are installed correctly.
If you don't know what apx mode is or how to access it. Pls read the root guide in my sig. The first 2 posts.
