Hey so I've been running aokp for a few days now, and suddenly I noticed that the sound isn't working, not for notifications, not for music, videos, anything. Not even when the headset is plugged in. So I flashed my stock Rom backup and it still isn't working, any ideas?? Thanks!

Ok this is weird, sound just started working on my stock Rom. Haven't tried aokp yet, the restore backup of stock Rom took 30 minutes and I need to sleep soon so I don't want to risk hanging to stay awake for it, it normally takes 3 minutes to restore backups though, idk what's wrong

I'm having a pretty same problem here, the only difference is that I'm running Paranoid Android on my Nexus 4. Do you find any solution yet?

For the last week my nexus 7 has been completely dying around 50% battery. If its in sleep mode when it hits that % then it won't turn on, if I'm using it when I hit that % I get a weird flicker then it shuts off. This just seems extremely strange that all of a sudden only half my battery works. A long with only having half my battery to work with, it seems like the tablet has been charging a lot slower then normal. I use to be able to work it down all the time and usually didn't charge it until 5%-10%
Anyone else ever have this issue? I contacted Asus and there only solution right now was a factory reset. I cant see how that could fix the issue at all.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
are you rooted? what type of kernel are you using?
I have read that sometimes a factory reset refreshes the battery settings. Is your device rooted or rommed out?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
That happened to one of my friends S2's. Factory reset it. It worked for my friend. My N7 also charged really slow. I just changed the ROM. It is the same thing as a factory reset because you do one when you change your ROM.

As said before, try a factory reset !
If no luck there
Try download a battery calibration app to see if its mis-calibrated etc
Sorry should of mentioned I am completely stock

Do you have the 8 or 16 GB? Apparently the 16 has issues when it's nearly full. I'd say wipe the caches and see if it gets better. Are you stock or running a custom rom? Stock or custom kernel?
16 and on stock

Mine's that way too... almost unusable, it was almost full, now with 6gb free...
Stock 16gb
I was having something like this happening about a month ago. I took that time to consider rooting and it's never been better.

I've never used any nexus I own without rooting
And AFAIK, rooting doesn't change the speed of the device, just gives you root powers to alter something, that MAY alter the speed!

Well, without any sort of kernel log/logcat of any type, it's anyone's guess...
Reflash the ROM only and run that for a couple of days before flashing another kernel, or try another ROM altogether.
Hm, can u say to ms, how i can make a log?

You'll probably want to pull a dmesg log and/or kmsg log, I've never done that but here's how you can pull that info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520508
At that point, if you get these, you'll want to send them to the ROM and kernel developers of the ROM/kernel you're using to see what they see in those outputs.
Hi,
First time post, I've had a search through the forums but haven't been able to find anything related, hopefully someone knows how to help though.
I turned on my Nexus 4 the other day and the date setting has somehow changed. As you can see in the screenshots, the last 2 numbers are the date and the first number seemingly just goes up by 1 each day. I've tried to change the date settings several times but nothing has changed. Is anyone else having the same problem?
My Lightflow app also stopped working at the same time, it won't open despite uninstalling and reinstalling. I would imagine these are unrelated but you never know.
Thanks in advance for any responses!

Ah, sorry. Nope, not rooted or anything like that. Just on standard Android 4.2.2

Looks like a software bug. Try flashing the stock images again and it should fix this problem. Try using carbon to do a backup first if you want to keep data.

Any luck so far?

We need more information besides that single screenshot. Have you checked your wake locks? Do you have any apps running in the background that it's not suppose to? Any rogue apps? How is your service?

That's looking normal to me. By the looks of it you have had over an hour of streaming music. So constant data connection and media service use.
I use paranoid android and Franco kernel and here is my usage.
Note I only use light web browsing and medium xda usage
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
music will kill the battery via media server
i would love to use my phone as a music player but since it drains so quickly i've resorted to using my ipod and just left music out of nexus 4 for now.
without music and only internet use, email, texting, some minor games here and there (pinball, super hexagon, some GBA games)
i get at LEAST 20+ hours and about 3 hours screen on time consistently
I didn't actually steam any music it was all stored locally from Spotify but your correct music does seem a killer. Just to be sure I had liquid smooth installed and after a few days applied the kernel. I didn't do a clean install of everything would this have made any difference?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
No you don't need a clean wipe to flash a new kernel
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Oh Okay thanks that's good to know.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Hi all, those who are running liquid smooth, could you tell me, if the are profiles (as in CM) presented in this ROM?
Screen on time is the main battery drain, if you've got upwards of 3 hours with a full charge (depends greatly on brightness levels) then you're doing ok.
Im running the same setup (LS + Franco) and have my screen brightness on 100%.
I get between 3 and 3.5 hours of screen on time, which is fine for me.
On stock i was getting 2 hours.
I use the same combo and I my battery drain is fine
Sometimes you need to go through a few full charge cycles to tell the difference
I'll keep you updated as I go... Thanks for your comments
