you really think a french provider would post info about the 4.0.4-update on sprint?!
I do not believe it!
Would wait until the end of March by the OTA, but I see I'll have to install a ROM alternative!
Let's see if Google decides on something, or if it appears other related news!
Yep yep. Google does it again.. but yeah like i read above, i better wait longer than a faulty OTA..

Google stated less than two weeks ago 4.0.4 wasn't even complete yet. This French site is just trying to cover up their shoddy reporting.

Shame on Google for what?
In the Q&A, someone from SFR clarifies that the update has been delayed and they don't have an ETA yet. That's all it means. We didn't have an ETA before, so in effect nothing has changed.
This French site is making it up as they go along. They are talking out of their rear end.
I'm happy with 4.0.3. so what is the rush?
Why would Google give inside information to some tin-pot French operator when they have bigger fish to fry with their bigger markets?
They are bullshitting.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Yeah, it makes zero sense. Google isn't "suspending" an update that never existed to begin with. They are surely working on 4.0.4 or whatever comes next and will release it as soon as it passes the QA tests.

Lol... that tin-pot provider is pretty big in France, which is a part of the not so small European market. And as far as I remember, us Europeans are the only ones so far who've got an official update. (Plus the American off-shoot, T-Mobile, of course).

It is also the only source of this rumor and has never been verified by any outside source. Therefore, I tend to believe it is nonsense. And it seems the initial report was inaccurate so it is hard to blame Google for information they didn't release that was not true.
Google must be doing something really big in the next update. Otherwise they wouldn't have delayed it for 3 months.
Or maybe Google devs are too much busy with 5.0 that they are hardly concerned with further updates on ICS.
Just wild guesses. Waiting for a surprise from Google.

My thoughts exactly. They must be cooking up something good.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Not that I want Google to rush or anything, but I must say ICS on my Nexus S (Tmobile) runs quite poorly. Things hiccup and lag a bit, and when returning to the home screen (especially from Chrome or games), the home screen icons can take upwards of 5+ seconds to load. It happens frequently, and is quite frustrating.
Don't get me wrong, I love ICS, but owning a Nexus device to get the latest update is slightly overrated if it means my year+ old phone can't run it well due to hardware limitations. Kind of makes the second year of owning this device less enjoyable.
I'm hoping an update will address this.

For not realising a bugfixed version of ICS or not releasing practically any version at all on some models. It's the first time that google experience phones will get update after the others...and the comments after mine seem not to disagree so much...
How is something that was never officially planned be suspended??
http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/21/android-jelly-bean-4.1-google-wallet/
So basically it probably won't be a huge improvement over ICS like it was from GB to ICS.
Well that was to be expected.

man, i'm sure we will see it! It doesn't seem too different from ICS, but MP noted to me earlier today that even if we DO get 4.1, PROJECT BUTTER might not be compatible, and thats pretty much the BIG thing in 4.1, so it might not be as big as we plan.
Aw! That's what I was afraid of. Our vibrant might not have the guts for project butter. God dammit that would suck. Next nexus devices should be coming this fall right? If they price it to compete like they have tablet has been. I'll pick one of those babies up.
Well, Project Butter is just kernel changes etc, isn't it? Doesn't seem like it would be a hardware limitation unless it needed drivers or something
SG Nexus already have it.

Apparently, according to rumors, there is supposed to be FIVE Nexus devices this year. I hope it is from all different manufacturers. Samsung,HTC,LG,Asus, and hopefully Nokia but that is unlikely.
Also, read up here, http://phandroid.com/2012/06/28/no-profit-in-nexus-7-pricing-says-rubin/
The reason the price is so LOW is because Google wants a clear pathway into the tablet market with this Nexus 7. A tegra 3 device at 200$? That, no one is daring to do but Google. They took no profits from the device, but I'm sure they will get something out of it since
1) market share increases
2) their own company value increases
3) if anyone uses the internet on any device, you can be sure as hell to see a google ad somewhere haha

I wouldn't say Google Now sucks, I'm looking forward to it.
As for smoothness, I've only had the device running extremely smoothly while on CM9. On stock and modded TW, it is quick but nowhere near your average Jelly Bean device. CM9 still has issues with camera quality but I've been running it due to the improvements in performance elsewhere.
You'd have to have been living under a rock to even contemplate the idea of Samsung releasing Jellybean within the next 2 months given their history.

Zing!
Seriously though, I think Google Now is very interesting. I've been hearing about it's behaviour for a week or two on my friend's Nexus. It seems to me that the more this gets worked on, the more intuitive it can become while it's "watching" where you're at regularly.
Already he's noticed it prompting him about traffic around the times he leaves for work in the morning and for home in the afternoon, to tell him about traffic conditions & ETAs.
Pretty amazing possibilities if you can get the phone to passively offer helpful information without asking if you ask me...

Honestly? Look - I'm not a big Samsung fan - they definitely have some seriously wonky business practices - moreso since I'm in Canada and they can't get their act together up here and decide if we're their favourite country or we're just a joke... and no one carries accessories for their products up here anyway - but here's the thing...
I own a ton of Samsung computer products because as much as it annoys me these two facts keep drawing me back...
1. They may be annoying - but the only real alternative left is Apple.
2. They are the ONLY company that makes damn near *exactly* what I want. Apple doesn't. Asus gets close - but then keeps blowing it. Microsoft.. please. Acer - how is life in 2008?
Samsung is the new Sony. They're Apple with a sense of weirdness that makes their products interesting instead of always being about fash and status.
So, like I said elsewhere - I may not like them much - but there really isn't anything better to jump to.
" Microsoft.. please. Acer - how is life in 2008?"
Very funny!
All true, and exactly how I feel re: other manufacturers. Others get close, sometimes, but never quite there.
And to the poster who is going to return his Note for a Nexus because JB hasn't arrived yet - go get a life. Borrow one, steal one, heck buy one. Seriously. Get a little perspective.

I returned my Nexus 10 as I'm happier with the Note 10.1. Also, much happier with the new Note II addition compared to Nexus 10 especially since it has JB to tide me over until it comes to Note 10.1. Once you go Note it's hard to go back to a consumption only tablet.
