Hi, my galaxy s3 and nexus 7 are rooted and i love using moice and keyboards on my phone and tablets..... But my question is that is there any NON root app that can mount usb otgs? I remember on a non rooted s3,there was this app and it works non rooted but when I found it and tryed to download for another non rooted phone, it started to require root. The apps called usb otg help. Plz can anyone link me an app that works with non rooted phones and tablets?

You don't need any app to use mice, keyboards, and read external drives. You only need an app if you want to write to an external drive.

Yes, but you still can't write to the external drive, with or without the app.

Can you do it in TWRP then?

Yes, works linke a charm. All my backups are now directly written to an USB-stick and the amount of free internal memory increased by almost 4 GB
Edit: upps, I think I understood you wrongly. I was thinking on USB-stick on OTG, not on MTP-mounting. That I didn't check up to now.

Yes OTG works, but if you want to write to USB storage you will need root access
Does our device support ntfs formatted external USB drives?
PS: I do use an OTG cable.

Yes, but the device must be rooted and there's a nifty application you can use for this. Here's the link:

My Note 2 supports exfat out of the box, so I would presume the Note 3 does the same. I would use that if I was you.

You mean you want to transfer files to your phone?
Please be more specific.
It sounds like he's trying to ask how to force his note 3 into mass storage mode, instead of mtp, I can not help, as I'm 2/3 days away from my note 3 arriving

sry for confusion!
i mean when i connect note3 to PC,
it will be under MTP mode for file transfer,
instead of which, i would like note3 be connected to PC as USB Mass Storage mode (like a thumb drive).
how to make it happen?
tks!

Did you flash the nc1 kernel with Odin? You said you didn't have a computer. You need to be on that kernel for towelroot to work

If you're going to root your phone you'll need to get your pc to recognize it or you won't be able to flash the nc1 kernel. When booted into download mode and you'd phone connected to your pc what do you see in device manager? I assume you have a Windows pc.

I understand that you'd like to do it without a computer, but without the nc1 kernel there is no way to root. And you'll need a computer to run Odin and flash the nc1 kernel.
tldr, it ain't happening!
