Is it possible to swap internal memory 16Gb by SD Card 32Gb? Can you give me a script?

If u can do it on a STOCK Acer ROM, then it SHOULD be possible... u need to Google Search that MOD... My ROM is STOCK based with OC Kernel.
EDIT: for post below...I made that "Optional Download : ! Removed Files" to manually add back 1 or a few files.
If I added all removed files back, what would be the point of making this SLIM ROM, it would be all STOCK.
Instructions on POST #2

Please make flashable zip from this - Optional Download: ! Removed Files!
Thank you!!!

Does this Rom have the Acer ring?
Sent from my A500 using xda app-developers app

Doesn't have Acer Ring. STOCK Acer A500 never came with Acer Ring....
Acer Ring <- Notice it says "Acer Ring update for Acer Iconia A20x/A21x/A51x/A70x series tablet." NOT A50x (not A500, A501)

Good. I never liked that ring. Will give this ROM a try thank you.
Sent from my A500 using xda app-developers app

When you say Everything Works, does that include the dock accessory?

It is STOCK slim.. Meaning Lots of bloatware removed +.
Some things you'll want to add from market like File Manager, Music Player, Video Player...I give recommended files.
I have used this ROM for over 1 yr. I updated many .apk's since the start.
Check bottom of Post #1 to see all removed files. More info on Post #2
Dock Accessory...Don't see files that I removed, affecting it.
I have "! Removed Files" in post #1 (Instructions Post #2), If you want to manually add back anything!
Edit : for post below... There is a LINK on post #1 of the OC Kernel.
I believe it should be fine (HDMI mirroring, Netflix, OC to 1.5 Ghz, and All Apps, I've tested so far are great)

The dock requires support in the kernel, so I'm just looking to check that the custom kernel you're using hasn't removed support for it?

Hdmi working ?
Sent from my A500 using xda app-developers app

HDMI Mirroring works EXCELLENT! (no problems)
Yes works great... I Use it all the time with Netflix on HDMI port 50" TV (great picture, no dragging, slowing, NO PROBLEMS)...thru WiFi signal
- I get 3-4 90 minute movies on same battery (not plugged in).
- I believe the screen stays on whole time. (if you try to turn screen off on tablet, to save battery, you'll loose picture ?)

This is great! Great job on the rom!

You might want to try this out - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nkahoang.screenstandby - gets great results for me.

Is there a mirror of your ROM anywhere? I've been periodically trying to download for the last few days and each time androidfilehost.com has been down.
Thank you!
*EDIT* -- finally managed to get the server while its up. Downloading now!
*2nd Edit* -- Fantastic ROM! Love it! Thanks for putting this together

Problem with twrp 2.3.3.0
Hi, I would like to try this ROM on my a500, but have an issue with the twrp that I could use some help with. I came from Thor 1.7.3 touch recovery and changed per the op instructions to twrp. When I do a backup, it seems to run ok but when it is done it says it failed and gives this error:
E: unable to mount '/data'
I went to the Mount tab and it won't let me check the Mount Data box.
It does show a backup file in the backup folder but not sure if it is any good so I don't want to proceed with flashing ROM until I resolve this issue. Please help.

Just to let everyone know, I reinstalled my old recovery, thor 1.7.3, then installed this rom without any issues. It is running ok so far.

Solution to see if Recovery WIpes All (like it is suppost to)
Edit : read POST above... (cool, I left text here...rather then type "Removed") my response took long I guess..LOL
I've had that problem before, I've tested so much on this Tablet, Samsung Galaxy S3 Cell, and (HTC EVO 4G of past)...
Possibly problems ? (just guessing)...
can't remember exactly problem..(had it about 4-5 times lifetime)... guessing the Micro SDCard is too large (for recovery)
-example if you tried 8GB or 16GB might work...32GB wouldn't work for me on some Devices (sometimes on some recoveries)
-if I had another SDcard, that fixed it for recovering...
you can use any recovery, that you want to use, HOWEVER, I noticed, they don't ALL WIPE the best..
-I've seen on more than 2 other recoveries ..files left behind after 3x wiping. so right away I only use TWRP...
I suggest, you try the recovery you feel comfortable with (but try to verify that all files get Removed...if you are able to check)
-what I always do with other recoveries..is wipe EVERY SINGLE thing (except Ext. SDCARD) and then Make Nandroid backup
-then later when you boot up and are on OS, check the Backup file and see if it is EMPTY
-after doing this many times, I can tell, what recoveries are good and not... Been so long (since other recoveries) my memory is not sharp... BUT I KNOW I'm correct in info given.
*** You can also NOT wipe Internal (data\media) like Internal SDCARD.
- I have noticed on ONLY 3-4 occasions lifetime, where I had to wipe Internal everything. So maybe test without WIPE'ing all 1st.
- If problem, then complete Wipe, re test, then post PROBLEM.

upgraded
well, just updated from acr 1.8 which became sluggish...
I was prepared to reinstall all my apps and was a beautyful surprise finding everithing back in place I just put the zip in sd, booted into recovery and "apply any zip from sd card". fast and efficient! I have just 2 annoiances:
1- I'd like to put the phone on vibrate in the lockscreen, not only mute (but I think is a problem of the system, not of the rom itself
2-when I open a contact I see on the right side either the phone number to call and the possibility to send a msg; but no matter what I choose only the phone call starts. Is this a rom bug (also on acr 1,8) or part of the original system?
Rest seems very good, fast and efficient
1.2.2 version is out and is quite a good ROM. All apps are running much faster.

Also, I couldn't import SIM Contacts from Contacts application.. and the Phone Contacts (I mean phone memory contacts) still not found..
I like this ROM, except this problem..
Thanks all developers for this wonderful ROM..
Installed LCR1.7 and I wouldn't say it's stable.
Lot of applications are crashing...
Will go back to 1.6 and wait for updates of 1.7 to come.

KNOWN ISSUES:
POWER OFF ISSUE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION NOTES:
YOUR PHONE MUST BE ROOTED! (BTW, that means your warranty is officially VOID)
BEFORE INSTALLING, BE SURE YOU HAVE A FULL BACKUP OF YOUR SDCARD DATA AS WELL AS A GOOD NAND BACKUP
I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR PHONE, IF YOUR PHONE BREAKS, OR IF ANY GENERAL ILL-WILL COMES YOUR WAY ONCE FLASHING THIS ROM.
PLEASE NOTE: If your SDCard is not partitioned, it will need to be partitioned properly in order to use apps2sd. I recommend an ext3 partition with at least 512MB of space, with 0 swap/cache. As always, if you have questions, ask first! Also, if you already have programs installed to an ext3 partition, your programs will load up after you flash the ROM (i.e., DO NOT wipe your ext partition if you want your "old" programs to automatically restore).
TO INSTALL:
1) Load TenzoRC*.zip to the root of your SDCard.
2) With phone off, hold Power + Volume Up to boot into recovery
3) Choose "wipe" and press "Wipe data/factory reset" (I also recommend wiping Dalvik-cache as well), press down-key to go back to main menu
4) Choose "Flash zip from SDCard"
5) Choose TenzoRC*.zip
6) Confirm install by pressing trackball
7) After installation, choose to "Reboot system now"
First Boot can take up to 5-10 minutes.
After boot, HTC logo will appear for about 1 min, then setup screen appears
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
xtrTenzoRCMix Options:
GScript
For xtrTenzoRCMix we have compiled and incorporated the opensource GScript app (see http://code.google.com/p/gscript-android/) to load and one-click run user settings.
To setup your GScripts complete the following steps:
1. After opening GScript press the menu button and select "Add script"
2. A new window will open.
3. Press the Load file button
4. Select a script from the list (each is obviously named as to its function)
5. Ensure Needs SU? is checked
6. Now select "Save" and you have added your script
7. To run just select it from the list in the main GScript screen
8. You must reboot the phone for the change to take effect.
-----------------------------------------------------------
User Services Power Management (Collin_ph Battery Tweak) - I have built in a user services that runs at a polled interval and can set the performance settings of your phone in realtime. The first script that is available is a 2.1 HTC framework version of the Collin_ph Batter Tweak. For a detailed overview of you can view the original thread at here.
The power management battery tweak is disabled by default but there is a gscript to enable plus you can run "battconf" from terminal on the phone or adb shell to configure... The battery tweak runs a script every 60 (or less if you are on power) to poll the capacity of the battery, and as the battery goes down the cpu max freq is progressively lowered. It also changes the CPU write characteristics (all of which I do not yet fully understand). You can see all the details in the /system/bin/batter_tweak file.
I take no real credit on this and just ported the concept to the HTC framework and HTC kernel (with the zanfur OC patch). This took a lot of work and I fixed a few bugs but the concept is not mine and all Collin_ph.
When you first run terminal remember to type "su" (or equivilent for your app) to run as root and select "1" then enter when first prompted after starting "battconf".
So how do I know it is working? just run the report_log.sh GScript and you will see when it logs a change to the system settings. Also you can run the report_system_settings.sh GScript and for a display of current settings. This process will be faster if you plug into a power source and wait about 60 seconds
To enable/disable the battery tweak just run the appropriate GScript (user_service_batterytweak_enable.sh or user_service_batterytweak_disable.sh) and reboot your phone (Quick Boot makes this easy!).
** If you run into issues using the default Term Emulator (in Dev Tools), please download "Android Terminal Emulator" from the Market.
Performance Improvements:
I HIGHLY recommend setting your Animations (Spareparts) to either OFF or FAST for a much smoother, faster experience.
Free Internal Memory and Dalvik-cache heapsize - We have update default user settings to allow a larger dalvik heapsize of 24mb (think more space for apps to play) AND optimized how memory is freed up using Androids internal task killer.
Default min memory free: “balanced”
Default dalvik vm heapsize: 24m (38m with JIT on)
To change dalvik vm heapsize or min memory free settings you can just run the appropriate GScript.
If you would like to further modify the default min memory free settings then download Autokiller or MinFreeManager, these apps will allow you to set and monitor the min memory free values. For more information on Androids “internal task killer” and min memory free values go here
Overclock Settings - the included kernel supports overclocking and as part of the custom sysinit process we have added scripts that you can run to overclock the CPU without using a market app. You can also run the report _cpu_freq script from GScript to get a printout of which frequencies and time in each you phone has been operating.
To enable/disable overclock just run the appropriate GScript.
If you would like to further modify OC settings then download SetCPU or Overclock Widget, these apps will allow you to set and monitor the CPU speed. Remember YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR CPU IF RUN TO HOT FOR TO LONG with higher settings. MAKE SURE TO RUN THE set_cpu_stock GSCRIPT IF YOU INSTALL A MARKET APP. The internal overclock support may overwrite the market app settings...
JIT - JIT (Just In Time compiler) is a built in option for the ROM but is off by default. For a detailed overview of JIT go here. PLEASE NOTE for Android 2.1 JIT is not stable with all applications and can cause odd things on your phone.
To enable/disable JIT just run the appropriate GScript and reboot your phone (Quick Boot makes this easy!).
Cache2cache & Cache2sd:
By default, the dalvik-cache for xtrTenzoRCMix has been relocated from the internal /data/dalvik-cache/ directory to the internal /cache/dalvik-cache directory. The Eris comes with an internal /cache/ file block of 130mb that is not used! After reviewing a number of xda member file system usage reports (thanks xtrROM and xtrSENSE users!) the MOST reported use of this space was 5%... So by moving the dalvik-cache to this free area you now have over 150mb on internal /data/ for apps and over 97mb in internal /cache/ for dalvik-cache. This means that you can probably install close to 100 apps WITHOUT moving anything to the SD Card ext!
You can also move the dalvik-cache to your sd card ext or back to the stock internal /data/ file block.
To change the location of dalvik-cache you can just run the appropriate GScript and reboot your phone (Quick Boot makes this easy!).
Apps2sd:
Apps2sd for xtrTenzoRCMix is incorporated in the custom sysinit process. For apps2sd to work you must first complete the listed prerequisites and it is a good idea to read through the "things you may want to know about apps2sd" section. Although it can provide gobs of space for apps, Apps2sd is not for everyone as it ties the stability of your phone to your SD Card... If you do not need the space we recommend that you keep the default of DISABLED; if you want to try you can always disable it again however there is always the chance of issues.
To enable/disable apps2sd just run the appropriate GScript and reboot your phone (Quick Boot makes this easy!).
Apps2sd Basics
When you run the apps2sd , upon reboot, it will move ALL your existing apps to the sd card ext partition and ALL future apps will be installed and stored on the sd card ext partition.
Running the apps2internal script, upon reboot, it will move ALL your existing apps to the /data/ block of internal storage and ALL futures apps will be stored in internal storage.
For NON CyanogenMod based ROMs it is all or nothing and you cannot move individual apps.
Apps2sd Prerequisites
If you have not setup your SD card (for those new to Apps2sd) as per tkirton:
BACKUP YOUR SD CARD TO YOUR COMPUTER. Can't stress this enough, as partitioning will wipe the entire card.
Reboot into recovery
In Android System Recovery, select Partition sdcard
In the Partition sdcard menu, select Partition SD
Follow the instructions on the phone to partition your SD card. Most folks seem to recommend using the default values however you can go larger or smaller use values 256, 512,768,1024. You will also be asked to set a swap size; I stayed at 32mb (anticipate future ROM options to allow moving swap to sd)
Once the partition is initially created you must then convert to ext3 - In the Partition sdcard menu, select SD:ext2 to ext3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Press the back button on the phone to go back to the main menu.
Your SD card is now ready to work with an Apps2sd supported ROM.
Things you may want to know about Apps2sd
xtrTenzoRCMix has bootloop protection built in if your SD card is corrupted or is removed from the phone with Apps2sd enabled. Your apps will go away but your phone will boot .
There are 3 subsets of data associated to an app when it is installed and run on your phone.
1) /data/app/ (and /data/app-private) - actual .apk files we think of as the applications that are not system apps (i.e. installed on /system/app)
2) /data/data/ - the files produced by ALL apps (system apps and market apps) during installation that are used by the Android system to run the app
3)/data/dalvik-cache/ - app cache file and work space for ALL apps (system apps and market apps).
From root explorer (or similar) you can browse to the /data/app OR the /sd-ext/app folders and you will see the same thing, both will tell you how much space you have used and have left. The way apps2sd works is by "linking" the /system/sd/app to the /data/app folder so that the Android system thinks it is accessing the /data/app it is really at /system/sd/app.
I have seen using Apps2sd cause issues with some.zip flash updates as they try to write directly to the /data/app folder which no longer "physically" exists
If you get into a bootloop issue using apps2sd boot into amon_ra recovery and try one of the follow:
1) from the Other menu option select the Fix apk uid mismatches
2) from the Wipe menu option complete a)Wipe data/factory reset b)Wipe Dalvik-cache c)Wipe SD:ext partition
So how do I know Apps2sd is on? You can run the GScript report_system_stats which will give you a printout of what fileblocks are used. You can also go to menu>Settings>Sd card and phone storage - when on space available under Available storage will be over 150mb will go down at a VERY slow rate when new apps are installed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you use SetCPU, and prefer it over the Battery Tweak, I recommend setting up SetCPU 2.03 next (download from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419 or BUY it from the market). I often get asked about SetCPU settings, so I've included mine (these will make your battery life GREAT and also ensure your phone doesn't get hot enough to cook on):
My SetCPU settings (screen shots below):
748 max (OC over 710 at your own risk!)
245 min
*(set on boot)
Profiles * (Adjust to your liking... this is how mine is setup):
Temp > 43.0 (priority 100) - 480/245
Charging/Full (priority 75) - 748/245
Battery < 20% (priority 50) - 480/245
Screen Off (priority 25) - 480/245
Advanced:
Sampling rate - 2000000
Up Threshold - 60
Ignore Nice Load - 0
Powersave Bias - 200
*(set on boot)
*** SetCPU NOTES ***
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A PARTITIONED SDCARD W/SETCPU INSTALLED ON IT, YOU MAY HAVE A FC/CLOSE WHEN LAUNCHING. TO FIX UNINSTALL/REINSTALL SETCPU.
DO NOT USE SETCPU IF YOU PLAN TO IMPLEMENT THE BATTERY TWEAK! THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE (IT'S EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER)

- For some reason, Google Goggles seems to "error" out with an IPv6 issue when using any version above 1.0. I have attached Google Goggles 1.0 (below) for anyone who needs it (I use it... and it still works perfectly). I've included this in the ROM as of 11.18.10
- To activate "Shake to Preview" - Menu > Configure > Thumbnails Settings > G-Sensor > G-Sensor Settings
- To activate "Live Wallpapers" - Menu > Configure > Live Wallpaper (Rosie will prompt you to restart)
- Random FC? Lower your overclock settings or turn off JIT. Our little Eris's can only do so much and not all hardware is equal... Also remember this ROM is quite fast in stock form and higher Linpack scores DO NOT make for a better user experience

If you choose to "Power Down" phone... it will just hang and spin won't break anything, you'll just have to pull battery.
However, the built-in "Reboot" menu works wonders... just like QuickBoot... but built-in from Power Down menu (can reboot into recovery, bootloader, or normal reboot).
Hey sry for another dumb question, but this is a Froyo 2.2 ROM right?
This is exactly what I've been waiting for on my Eris - can't wait for more updates!

Yeah, did a nandroid and going back to xtrsense until its fixed
anyone try using jcases market fix ...see if that fixed it ?
Wow this is looking clean. If the market is fixed, and MMS is working I may move to this.
BTW, anyway you can color the battery icons blue(both circular and standard), and add anything from 2.2 that can work on 2.1(really only looking for the newer gmail app)?
ahhh, silly me... permissions issue...
i'll have it fixed and update tonight

What font? From Apocalypse? What Theme, ICS again? Sorry your rom is quite beautiful but there are many ICS Themed CM7 ROMS with same features, just some addition of apps. Why don't you try some new ones for a change? You know, think out of the box, that just maybe attract some more users in your ROM. Just my opinion though. I'm not a developer too, just saying my opinion as a user.

INFO & EXTRA's
Installation for FULL ROM:
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING PLEASE BE SURE TO BE ON THE ICS UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
HOW TO DO THIS UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER THING?
For Aroma installer you need to be on one of the following custom recovery's
ezterry's A500PubRecovery / TWRP 2.1.3 (not 2.2...) / Thor 1.7.3 / ra-recovery 3.17 (recovery-ra-iconia-3.17-gnm)
First time you install this, do a full wipe= data/factory reset
The update script will automaticly wipe flexrom, cache and dalvik/cache.
If you got problems please before posting them do the following.
Performe a REAL format....
here's how to on cwm:
go to in recovery enter "Backup and Restore" and click on "Toggle backup and restore of internal storage (/data/media)"
should say enabled....
then go into "Mounts and Storage" and "format /data"
this will REALLY format data and you will loose all you have in the in the internal memory

Question & answers.
-Why are some installation lines blue in the aroma installer?
Blue means that those apps are installed in data.
Meaning that you can delete them from within the app drawer or from settings/apps
-Can I reinstall the rom 10000000000000 times without the need of wiping data/settings?
Yes, but the very first time it is best to do a full wipe.
Re-installing the rom means that you need to check again all apps that are installed in system,
example: Mods , AcerXT9 , widgets, Bootanimation, Acer apps like Printer , 3D photoBrowser....
Apps that are installed in data don't need to be re-checked on re-installation, it is even better that you don't if you have already updated some apps true playstore.
-3Gusb dongle support:
Use the pppWidget, you install it from the aroma installer or download it from the playstore.
-CPU / memory / Governor , settings :
Changing the governor from lulzactive to a other one will stop the automatic script from loading for the lulzactive tweaks.
You can also change the lulzactive governor settings with the app lulzactive (aroma installer)
You want to safe some battery drain, change the cpu speed from1.5GHz to 1.2GHz(Nvidia default) or to 1.0(Acer default) and change the governor to interactive.
-Extra Keyboards:
AcerXT9 , AsusKeyboard and Swype is available in the aroma installer.
-Bootanimations :
Check only one or none.
-Mods:
Check only one or none.
-Why is this package so large?
Aroma with mods is included.

RE-FLEXxx-ShellSHOCK_Rev4.5

-Default kernel is now the V1.01 @1.0GHz but you can select the 1.5GHz pre-overclocked kernel in the Aroma installer

- All Google APPs moved to the Aroma installer and are installed in data , so can be removed within the app drawer or settings/apps/downloaded (Maps, Music2, YouTube, StreetView, GMail, Calendar)

-Aroma installer reorganized = All apps are now chose able at your own preference. Select nothing, you get really a barebone naked ICS 4.0.4 rom.

-Updated apps
The reason for this installation change is that it probably will be the last update in a long time.
This way you can reflash the rom without any problems with updated apps that are in data.
If you install this rom the first time you can choose to install the GoogleApps/PlayStore like, pppWidget Maps , GMail,....
These apps are installed in data.
(Please take a look at the Aroma content table)

18-Nov-2012:

-Script error fixed in aroma regarding keyboard options
-Apps updated
-New mod with blue Acer buttons and different SystemUI & Framework mod.
-Aroma installer changes: Layout options changed , now you can pick framework mods separate from the SystemUI(buttons), this way you can make more layout combinations.

-28-Nov-2012:
New Rev5 and separate customizer released
Loads of new mods and layout options........................
rev5.1 released , reason: error in rev5 regarding font JB clock.
29-Nov-2012:
New Rev5.2 Full rom , Customizer_Rev5.2 and Gamerizer_Rev2
-Updated apps and Acer print updated and moved to data .
(don't worry aroma installer will clean out old AcerPrint when you select it, you don't need to a full wipe when you are on a older RE-FLEXxx rom)
-Main update: Aroma installer:
-All aroma packages will reboot automatically when finished, you still can go back to recovery by deselecting the reboot option on the finish screen.
Following is only in the full rom aroma installer:
This is how it works, if you don't get it , no problem , it will do it for you.
-When selecting a app that is installed in data (example: Gmail, Music2 ,.....) it will make sure it cleanse out all old data apps with the same name so there is no conflict when flashing the rom without full wipe.
This way you won't get stuck with 2 the same apps with like this: com.google.android.music-1.apk and the updated version with Playstore com.google.android.music-2.apk. The aroma when selecting a data/app (by accident or not) will first clean out data/app = in this case deleting both files com.google.android.music-1 & com.google.android.music-2 and then install the one from the rom com.google.android.music-1. Now when you reboot it is possible that it will update the app again, that is no problem, the playstore will delete the com.google.android.music-1 and replaces it with com.google.android.music-2. The next time playstore performs a update on that app again it will replace com.google.android.music-2 with com.google.android.music-1. This is why the aroma will clean out both files if present.

-CivZ-ezT20-Revived-Rev1.1~1646MHz kernel (Based on ezterry's ezT20 kernel and source compiled on his toolchain)
Stable to 1504MHz for all users , Speeds up to 1646MHz are only for the few with good Tegra2 chip.
Governors: LulzActive/LionHeart/Interactive/Powersaver/Performance/Userspace/Ondemand/Conservative.
Schedulers: Noop/Deadline/cfq/Bfq/Vr/Sio/Row/Zen
Updated DynamicFSYNC (Thanks to Pengus77)
Zram support
.....
-Updated apps
All google apps , Music2, ........
PlayStore 4.0.25
All Acer apps
-Wifi TX power available
iwconfig & iwmulticall available , this so TX power can be changed = Default is 14dBm.
"Wifi TX power" app included = this allows you to change the value to 4/11/18/25/32 dBm. The higher the dBm value the better the wifi reception but the higher the battery drain.
You can also change the TX power with terminal command : iwconfig wlan0 txpower ...(max 32dBm) this is temporarily until a reboot while the app keeps settings even after reboot.
-Viper and AlsaMix sound mod (in aroma)
AlsaMix = For the advanced user = can make your ears blow off (can be removed as it is installed in data but the support stays in the rom if you selected it in aroma, this way you can reinstall it from playstore)
Viper4Android FX mod= Supurb audio mod that makes the sound options unlimited and looder. , Can be used with AlsaMix and AcidMod , it is set up that they all work together.(Go to and select settings/sound effects/Viper4AndroidFX if you want to use it) If you want the additional effects (IRS samples) go here to download them and do the following : Extract IR samples to root of sdcard(internal storage) , create a folder named = ViPER4Android , in this folder you create a other one named = Kernel , in this you extract the ....irs files.
-Sysrw and Sysro fast command added
sysrw and sysro = this script give android elevated privileges -- you are authorizing read-write access for yourself to make changes to /system, temporarily. It ends when you run the other script, reboot, or kill the terminal session you started.
Meaning of this is not the need to type this "busybox mount -o rw,remount /system" you just type "sysrw" and for "busybox mount -o ro,remount /system" you type this "sysro". Making it easier for people that need it like a script they make.
REV6.6: 4-May-2013

Great roms". glad your back.
Does this mean that the new rom can use Google Now and the TTS engine together? In the previous rom's having Google now disabled the TTS engine for programs that used voice.
Sir please take my thanks! *presses thanks button* - You resurrected our a500s. Thanks again!

(post moved from FLEXREAPER thread)
So, notice any little differences between your PackardBell, may it RIP, and your a500... ahem... microphone??
Anyway, wondering if you could enlighten me on the init.d scripts you've included in RE-FLEXxx. I know that some of them gotta be Adrenaline and V6 scripts, that you may have renamed, and possibly something about GPS... what about the others? Maybe a brief script-by script breakdown?

None of them are V6 scripts, V6 is installed the moment you deside to use it.
How , open terminal and type: su(enter)v6(enter) and follow instructions.
I did prepare the services.jar for the V6 supercharged scripts.
Some things are also in the ramdisk. , First you need to make sure init.d is supported , just adding the folder is not enough.
I'm running init.d script from init.rc is,
I don't want to be a .....but ,
I'm not going to explain every little thing of the rom as I think it is to complicated for the average user. It will just make this thread to long with technical questions. I'm willing to answer pm's if I got time but I'm not a help desk or a teacher. I had some good mentors (Thor , Vache, ezterry) but the most things you learn by trial and error and a lot of time.
A good place to learn
A few explained:
0init_test = is a test script I put in there to make sure init.d is working. (it creates a file in data/local/temp that says init.d is working, If it is not there , well init.d is not working)
05calibration= auto battery calibration after installing a new rom ( so you don't need a app to do this)
08mimetempfile_remover = removes the temp files created by a exchange account (if not your sd card can be full of tempfiles created by the exchange e-mail app)
10darky_zipalign= zipalign new installed apps so you got better ram performance , will check on every reboot. This needs also a xbin file.
06lulzactive= script I made to run lulzactive governor settings that give smoother performance (changing governor will prevent this script from loading)
..........................................
EDIT:
About PB or A500 , well on the hardware site it is 100% the same so also the mic.
But I did like the look of the PB , Red background and shiny top and bottom covers.
I still have it as a reminder, gonna hang it on the wall of fame.

Hardware's exactly the same right down to the mircophone?? Interesting. But, honestly, don't tell me you actually have a wall of fame?? You gotta post a picture if this is the case!
I have a A501, if I install this one will I still have 3G through the inbuilt sim card slot?
I have been trying to download this ROM for the last couple of days and have tried about 8 times. Every time I get a network timeout after only 1MB downloaded. I am on a solid Comcast connection in Seattle that never has timeout issues. Is there any mirror or can anyone place this in a Dropbox folder? I am sure many others would appreciate it!

[GUIDE] [INDEX] ★ Complete guide to G4 + WIP/ROM Index ★ [4 OCT]

This thread will always be a Work In Progress. Please be patient, as we receive new development it will be posted here. Thank you very much!
Do subscribe to this thread to get notified on any new updates.
If you own a G3, please proceed to this thread instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-complete-tutorial-to-root-flash-t3098959
Own a V10? Proceed to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/wip-complete-guide-to-v10-t3217373
First things first, this guide is made mainly for our great LG G4 D815. Some steps may or may not work for other phones...
Please note that the results of the following methods may vary. I would advice you don't do this on a daily driver or corporate phone.
Also note that these steps WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.
For increased chances of these working, update your KDZ to Lollipop first using OTA or Flash Tool.
If you don’t know what rooting, flashing and blah blah blah means, this probably isn’t the thread for you.
I do not own much of this stuff, credit really does go to the folks stated below. Do give them a shoutout!
Enjoy!
Complete guide to all things G4:
NOTE: The chapters are in chronological order, meaning everything after Chapter 2 assumes you already have root and unlock.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 0: TERMINOLOGY (in my own words)
- Terms
- Tidbit
(To be honest, if you need to even look at this, this thread isn't for you.)
- Root: Gaining full administrative control of your device. "Jailbreaking" in terms of Android.
- ROM: The customized operating system that your Android runs on.
- Kernel: The thingy that links software and hardware
- Radio: The thingy that sends and receives messages, calls and data.
- Flash: Installing a zipped file in Recovery Mode
- Recovery: The software that allows tweaking and flashing, and other weird stuff that will destroy your phone.
- Fastboot: The thingy that allows recovery mode to happen.
- Brick: The term says it all.
- Bootloader: Quite literal; loads the phone for bootup.
- Nandroid backup: A backup-ed image of your current system
- ADB: Android Debug Bridge; some command line tool that sends information from and to the phone to, and from the computer
- CWM: ClockWorkMod; a recovery system
- XDA: The holy website that is full of weird stuff that makes your phone wayyyy better.
Now let's paint a picture:
Imagine you are your Android phone.
Before "rooting", you are trapped in jail.
Upon "rooting and unlocking", you are released from jail.
You go to a shopping mall named "XDA".
You find a credit card lying on the floor from the company "Recovery". On the back, it says there is no passcode required, and there is a infinite amount of money inside.
You enter a store and get a sweatshirt with the word "ROM" on it.
You didn't buy the shirt, the shirt just happens to be free, but still requires you to swipe your credit card anyways.
You keep the receipt as a "backup", just in case the shirt spoils.
Just then, you get greedy and get all the badges in the store.
Stupidly, you pin all the badges on your shirt, turning it as heavy as a "brick".
Then, the shirt rips, unable to put (it rhymes with boot) it back together again.
Luckily you still have the receipt to return the shirt, and return back to your good old disgusting shirt.
---------------------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 1: PREREQUISITES
- The newest LG drivers are installed on your computer
- A proper and working Wi-Fi network
- Enable Developer Options
- Enable USB Debugging
- Ensure G4 is charged to at least 50%
- Original and genuine LG G4 in-box USB cable
- Backup all files!
---------------------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 2: ESSENTIALS
- Backup
- Unlock
- TWRP
- Flashing
- Restoring Backup
BACKUP:
Titanium Backup Method:
Use “Titanium Backup” batch backup
1. Menu -> Batch
2. Run -> Backup user apps + system data
OR:
Manual Non-Root Method:
- Messages: “SMS Backup & Restore”
- Contacts: should be synced with the cloud, if not: Export to SIM card or SD card
- Calendar: should be synced with the cloud
- Notes: use “Google Keep”, it will be synced with the cloud
- User Dictionary: “User Dictionary Backup”
- Call Logs: “Call Logs Backup & Restore”
- Launcher (assuming you use Nova Launcher): Settings -> Backup & import settings -> Restore or manage backups
- Apps: “Helium” or any other app
- Nandroid Backup
store all backups in external SD card or transfer to your computer
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER (official!):

NOTE: THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE!
TWRP Touch Recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/recovery-twrp-2-8-6-0-touch-recovery-t3125859
(kudos to @Dees_Troy & TeamWin)
1. Download "TWRP Manager" app from the Google Play Store
2. Advanced -> Install Recovery
3. DONE!
FLASHING:
Clean Flash:
1. Backup your data!
2. Reboot into TWRP Recovery
3. Go into settings and enable “Use Aroma File Manager”
4. Wipe Dalvik, Cache, System & Data
5. Flash your chosen ROM, basebands, firmware updates and other crap
6. Flash any GApps package. (the one I use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/gapps-lp-gapps-pa-gapps-aroma-installer-t3010798; kudos to @raulx222 & @slim Team)
7. Flash anything else (e.g. frameworks, boot animations, splash screens, themes etc.)
8. Reboot
9. DONE!
OR:
Dirty Flash: (flashing without wiping anything, used for updating to newer ROMs or reflashing)
1. Reboot into TWRP Recovery
2. ONLY wipe Dalvik Cache
3. Flash your chosen ROM, basebands, firmware updates and other crap
4. Flash any NEWER GApps package. If you manually installed/updated through Play Store, skip this step.
5. Flash anything else (e.g. frameworks, boot animations, splash screens, themes etc.)
6. Reboot
7. DONE!
It is perfectly fine if the first bootup takes a while, that is perfectly normal. Upon boot, Android will optimize itself so just let it do it’s work. Do put the phone under a fan as it does tend to get hot when optimizing since it is at max brightness or some dumb reason.
If it takes ages (like over 5-10mins) to boot up, it means you have luckily bricked your phone! Do source the XDA indices for any unbricking tutorial, or keep a lookout for an update on this page for instructions. (I don’t have any/don’t need to find any as I have never bricked any Android, so ya.)

DO NOT dirty flash if your newer ROM:
- Doesn't allow/support it
- Has a major update
- Has a Android version jump (e.g. from Lollipop to M)
- Is a totally different ROM from the previous one (e.g. from Stock to Cyanogenmod)
If after dirty flashing you experience any ROM issues (e.g. battery drain, lag etc.), I would advice you to do a clean flash instead.

RESTORING BACKUP:
Titanium Backup Method:
1. Use “Titanium Backup” batch restore
2. Menu -> Batch
3. Run -> Restore missing apps with data (*NOTE*: DO NOT RESTORE SYSTEM DATA)
4. Once done, go to Backup/Restore on the main app interface
5. Restore manually: Calendar Storage, Internet Bookmarks, Messaging SMS/MMS Prefs, Phone SMS/MMS/APN, User Dictionary, Wi-Fi Access Points**
6. Launcher Settings: (assuming you use Nova Launcher) Settings -> Backup & import settings -> Restore or manage backups
**What can I manually restore?**
Red: DO NOT RESTORE, YOU’LL END UP BRICKING/BOOTLOOPING YOUR PHONE!!!
White: 99% safe, go ahead
Green: 70% safe, beware of potential brick
Grey Stirkethrough: DO NOT RESTORE

Temporary fix for 'Stagefright' exploit
Now, as we wait anxiously for our beloved OEMs to slowly update their softwares to patch for Stagefright, we are still vulnerable... UNTIL NOW! Here's a temporary protection for us, living in the slow ring of OTAs:
1. Open your messaging app.
2. Open your messenger's settings.
3. Disable "Auto receive MMS".
4. Repeat for all your other messaging apps.
5. DONE!
- If you're plainly lazy, download "Textra" messaging app which comes with in-built Stagefright protection!

FAQ:
- Any battery impacts?
Shouldn't be, so long as you follow the steps correctly.
- What if my weather shows "??" or "Unknown"
Go into the Widget Settings and Force Update
- My location isn't accurate!
Manually tell the widget your location, don't use auto.

Task Management
- Download "Greenify" or "Servicely"

Honestly, I don't encourage battery managers such as "Battery Doctor" or "Clean Master (Speed Booster)" as realistically, it takes up more battery or RAM in trying to keep the app open to "properly manage the battery". Yes there are benefits such a having a zippier G3, but there are better methods out there.

Coming soon.
Several of the steps you list in here require root.
Many of the steps you list in message #1 require root priviledges:
Titanium Backup, any process using Root Explorer, Xposed, Greenify, AdAway all require root access. Maybe that requirement should be mentioned in each chapter.
eagerly waiting for any possible root methods.
i haven't got my hands on my G4, but it would be good to know that when my phone arrived i can root the hell out of it
i get my G4 v23-24, hopefully there is a root already then!!
*root is essential.
I would like to add a request for "enable wifi hotspot" to be added to the first post, when possible.
This is my first LG phone and I hope I can get the wifi hotspot working on Sprint once I get the G4 rooted.
Thanks a lot.

This gets added to almost any ROM anyways, so you should be fine.
Has anyone found a reliable place to get the LG G4 USB drivers? I've connected my G4 to the Mac, installed the drivers through the popup that appears, and doesn't work. The Mac can't detect the G4, and neither can adb.
EDIT: Never mind. Using LG PC suite seems to work. Adb connected.

Not everyone wants to install a full ROM for select functions however.

True. Most of us just want root then we can use xposed to get the rest of the function we want.

Xposed going to require custom recovery also
Can we helps devs to get more info for root? I have the G4 currently
I'm an LG newbie. It would be nice if you could link drivers and flashing software in your post.
I've owned just about every Motorola, some HTCs and Samsung phones and rooted and rom'd for years. This will be my first LG. Motorola has just become too much a pain in this area though rumor is the BL is locked on the LG too. Even root and xposed would be enough to protect my privacy.
ordered mine today
now we wait for root

Have you tried PowerAmp or other non-stock music player? This would kill the deal for me. I suspect there are options and would love to know PowerAmp, in particular, works with the external card. I have way too much music I need to have with me which is why I require sdcard support.

I did not try the stock, because I have the full version of poweramp and it is working very well. My music is on the exsternal sd card
