Double-click sound when tapping settings on navbar - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, so this is weird. It happens on apps where the settings button (the three dots) is placed on the navbar, next to multi-task (es file explorer, viber etc.) I get the "click noise", but there is almost always either two of them following each other very rapidly - like "click click" in almost a matter of milliseconds - or there is only one click sound, but it's somewhat amplified (probably because it's actually playing the sound twice but simultaneously.) There is no behavioural difference otherwise - the settings dialogue opens (and doesn't close immediately).
Does anyone else have this problem? Running stock jop40c. Really don't want to RMA my otherwise lovely device :/

I happens to me quite often with the xda app with my Nexus 4 and 7. Its either a bug in the build or a bug with apps that use the legacy menu.
No need to RMA.

Thanks, that's a relief

All messages> Back switches apps instead

I noticed a bug that allows you to switch to running apps that were left behind with the home button.
Prerequisites: HTC Messages widget on one of the main screens.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open an application (like 'people') and exit out with the home button, not the back button.
2. Repeat step one if you want to add other apps.
3. Go to the HTC messages widget and tap it to open a message.
4. Select menu option "All messages".
5. Press the 'back' button. This will switch to another app instead of close the messages.
6. Repeat step 5 to close the app and move to the next one.
Further notes:
Some apps will continue to show up even if you press 'back' on them to exit out.
For example, "People", "System settings" and browser never closes. Camera app does close, but you have to leave it by pressing 'home'.
Works on generic 1.5.

I didn't know that - it is not mentioned in the manual. Thanks for that useful tip. Looks like a useful shortcut back to where you were before.
But how do you close a programme rather than let it waste memory and battery in the background?

If android needs ram it will close apps as needed but you can always download a task manager from the marketplace, there are some good free ones, i suggest advanced task manager its what i use
It would be good to be able to actually get them to exit properly.
Especially so when you have 4 or 5 "All messages" apps that won't go.
The only use this bug has is to take you to apps that are actually running as opposed to your history.
It also takes you to screens that a task switcher can't do for you, like the last screen you see from your last phone call and the call history.

I don't see this as being a bug. The ability to be able to short cut to the 6 (I notice it is limited to 6) previously used apps by a long press on the home button is obviously something the designers have deliberately included. And to me it is a useful additional feature (now I have found it!).
It seems to be history rather than running apps you are looking at - I closed several of my running apps using Astro and yet they still subsequently appeared in the list.

Bugs in OTA 2.3.3 for Desire Z - add yours

While generally being quite happy with the Gingerbread update for my Desire Z, clearly there are a few glitches.
First of all, my DZ is a Nordic version with the characters Æ, Ø, Å, Ä and Ö on the hardware keyboard.
On 2.2 before the OTA there was a bug which consistently caused capitalization of Æ, Ø and Å (æøå) when using the hardware keyboard. I don't know about Ä and Ö which are only used in Swedish and not in Danish and Norwegian.
This bug is now fixed using the native keyboard but still present using Scandinavian Keyboard which I have installed from Market. I must admit that I have not contacted the developer to ask if this could be a bug in the app.
Sadly, I have now experienced another bug related to the hardware keyboard after updating to 2.3 - today it happened for the second time.
When typing in Whatsapp and the SMS app (and possibly other apps) using the hardware keyboard pressing "S" will open the SMS app, pressing "G" will open Gmail and pressing "B" will open the built-in browser (not Dolphin HD which is set to default). This is fixed by a reboot (temporarily, it seems). Incidentally, the bug disappeared just now without a reboot while checking if it was also present in Gmail.
The missing pictures bug in HTC's gallery app is still there - still using QuickPic.
Anything that is not listed here - please add to the thread.
EDIT:
As many others I also get the constant Sense restarting thing which is driving me insane!
Also the brightness setting itself to maximum many times.
A handful random reboots. A couple happened with no apps open and doing nothing on the phone - I just happened to notice when it rebooted.
Since monomer888's advise I haven't had another shortcut typing bug happen (as of yet). Thanks!
I'm running software version 2.42.405.2 CL84109

- when exit from a fullscrren app, sometimes the status bar doesnt fit all screen, leting a space (about 10% of the screen space). Expanding the status bar fix it
- Portuguese translation erros remains from the first rom 1.34!!!!!:
Call volume is "Volume de ligação recebida" - shuold be "Volume da ligação"
The tips widget is "Dicar", should be "Dicas"
And a few others, that I don't remember now.
I've only seen some minor UI bugs and most recently, the capital letters typing a text message. That only happens when I try to type too quickly after opening the thread.
I must admit that I havent seen the gallery bug yet but then I don't really use the camera.
Might be worth posting your version number to track regional bugs.
Mine is 2.42.405.2
Brightness will be stuck at max waking from sleep sometimes. Brightness slider has no effect. Fixes itself if you sleep then wake again.
Playback of videos not taken with the camera is very stuttery. THis wasn't the case in 2.2.
I had the missing gallery pictures problem and the brightness problem as well-I have it normally on auto-bright, but sometimes when I wake it or reboot it, it automatically changes to full brightness and I have to select auto-bright again.
Also, Sense restarts after almost anything.
After installing, deleting or moving an app, returning to the home makes sense crash and restart.
I have a gallery bug aswell, can click on some line with pic and wording not shown.
I had once a bug in the unlock pin screen, tapping 7 was actually hitting 4, same if I hold on 7, i see the pressed status of the 4 button onscreen. It happened when i had no charge at all and plugged the phone to the usb port of my running pc. It was also impossible to switch on the phone, i had to plug it out.
Can't remember more right now.

I was wondering if anyone had noticed if there is still this bug or if you could test to check for me:
Start an app in portrait mode, slide out the keyboard for landscape mode, hit the home key. Do your apps/widgets load right away or within a couple seconds? For me it has always been that it will take 15-20 seconds for the screen to load, all I will see is the status bar and my background, no loading screen, no errors, nothing but that. Let me know if you had this prior to updating and also if you have it after, thanks!

I've experienced these as well. Funny thing is, I only experience the 10% bug in Facebook app.
Besides that "desktop loader" and sense-crash problem I got some strange issue with my mobile data connection - searched the forum for a while, haven't found anything, so I'll report it as a gingerbread bug.
Sense displays an activated connection all the time (3g/H - with those two little arrows flashing, thus indicating some traffic) but, unfortunately totally random, it decides to stop working.
Only way to check the data connection is browsing google. Turning off/on fixes the problem temporarily.
In addition, the speed of my mobile connection seem to be capped at some point - typically, depending on my location, it'll stick with 3G instead of H until I reboot. (noticed a remarkable speed difference by browsing the web before and after reboot)
Anyone similar problems?
Desire Z - 2.3.3 Stock
@Kueber;
While i've only seen the sense reload when my phone is uunder a lot of CPU load, I have seen it.
Regarding the data issue, i've only seen it with a certain app, "London Journey" This would retrieve some downloads, but not others. Maybe its a change in the data API relating to the new Download API. Using any other app was fine.
In maybe a slightly related issue, I've noticed that when in GPRS or EDGE, its much more reluctant to go to HSPA, especially when the H signal is low. However, this would normally just drop straight back to G / E anyway so is an improvement in my mind. It also seems quicker to see the HSPA connection has been lost and goes to G / E.
In your case, if location determins 3G rather than H, it could indicate you mobile provider may not have upgraded all their sites yet. If it passes data, then its stuck at 3G.

Hey there, thanks for your answer.
The strange thing is that my previous phone (HTC Legend) always displays a HSDPA connection (speaking of my hometown as testing area). My Desire Z also states a H connection until it get capped somehow. Then I reboot and the little H is back. It is definitely not a display bug, since the speed difference, as already mentioned earlier, is noticeable after rebooting.
Is there some kind of a "user control" in areas that aren't fully covered by a mobile provider, so that my connection may drop due to non using the phone? (It happens normally while phone is sleeping) And is it possible that my Legend, 2.2 stock btw, just isn't very accurate when it comes down to displaying the current connection speed? - to mention your point of a quicker HSDPA loss on gingerbread.
greetings
I also have the Sense constantly restarting. It is really, really, REALLY annoying!
It happens about 50% of the times when I return to the home screen from any app, even the browser.
Has any of you tried uninstalling the Gingerbread update? Don't even know if it is possible, though.
beside the above bugs. the missing pictures bugs also affects my sound files. i can't change my ringtone or alarm tone. it will change back to the default ringtone every few hrs as the sound files went missing on my sd card. has to do a sdrescan to get it back. but few hrs later it will go missing again & ringtone either be empty or back to default.

I've had the exact same bugs as described above, it drove me insane.
after 3 days or so i was fed up with it and downgraded and installed Virtuous 2.0. the bugs are gone and i've got a stable, rooted phone.
has anyone tried to contact HTC about these bugs? I myself was too lazy to write an email..

[Q] Thoughts after two months

My wife recently bought a Galaxy Tab 7.7 and now after some hours of experience she has some questions:
1. When you turn off the sound it doesn't turn off everything, sounds on webpages still plays.
2. The screen unlock pattern is in the same place so it's easy to see it because of the grease the finger is leaving behind.
3. When you want to edit text in the web browser, for instance in a forum like this, and you put the marker where you want to start edit, the marker jumps 1 or more letters efter about one second. It's not a miss click, because you can see that the marker is in the correct place when you remove your finger, and then after about one seconde it jumps to another place. Extremely annoying.
4. Honeycomb does not utilise the screen size, it seems like it's made for a smaller phone with lesser resolution. Reminders and other notifications is easily missed. Text is also extremly small sometimes and even though you can read it, it's very hard to put the marker in the right spot, if you want to mark and copy a text for instance.
5. Reminders from the calendar is to discreet, it should be something that you have to turn off manually so you dont miss it.
6. Can you create a shortcut to a file on the startscreen/desktop?
7. The clock doesn't show when you make a call so you can't check the time
8. The screen locks itself quickly when you make a call, in like 10 s, even though you have set it on 5 mins. Very annoying when you want to check things on the pad during a call.
9. Adding a new phone number to a contact is very unlogical, and it takes alot of steps. Why not just have, "add phone number to contact" when you have marked the number??
10. You can't set the timer on an certain amount of hours and/or min, just a time?
11. I can't write é and ü which is used sometimes in my language, the signs ¨ and ´ just doesn't exist. But a ton of smiliys do...strange choice by Google/Samsung.... (yes, I have the local version of the OS)
12. Then it's the browser:
* You can't move tabs
* Tabs has to reload when you switch between them
* Very long procedure to add a bookmark
* You can't sort the bookmarks the way you want.
13. The music player can't do shuffle
This was just the most important things, then it's alot of other annoying things that doesn't work correctly and that are just illogical.
Overall it doesn't seem like a product that is ready for selling, If this was a computer OS it would've been called version 0.1 alfa.
If you have any tips or apps that solve the above listed things, please post here. My wife would be super happy.
I m sorry to say. All of the above can be done/customize... u just haven't look in the right place or download the right Apps..... I guess it's your first smartphone.

No, I've owned an Iphone, which had none of these issues.
But please give me some tips and hints, because I've looked around and have found nothing.
1) You need to turn down the media volume whilst in the browser.
2. Obviously clean the screen more often, what do you expect?
3. Its a bug with no fix. ICS should fix this.
4. With apps in general? Because ICS has started a trend for better resolution support. With notifications I suggest getting glasses. Also in the themes and apps forum there is an app to increase font size called Big Font.
5. That defeats the point of a reminder.
6. No but some custom launchers like go launcher provide this option.
7. I have a wifI only version so no idea. But the clock should always stay in the bottom bar.
8. Its meant to be this way. Its a feature from smartphones. It stops your face pressing buttons on the screen when you put the speaker grill to your ear.
9. No comment.
10. For the clock/alarm app?
11. Hold the letter e (é) and u (ü) down on the Samsung keyboard.
12. The play store offers alternative browsers like opera and dolphin hd, try some.
13. ICS upgrade should fix this. But again use the play store to find alternatives.
Honeycomb is buggy, numerous reviews have stated this. The ICS upgrade is set to fix most of these issues and provide a better overall experience. The ICS upgrade is meant to be set for May.
Its not meant to be a computer. Its meant to be be a media consumption device. You've come from an iphone which is simple. Android just takes times to get used too. You probably would have been better off with am ipad. Android tablets just aren't there yet.

Ok, but you have to agree with me that when you put the phone in silent, it should be completely silent.
2. Obviously clean the screen more often, what do you expect?
It becomes a mark after every time you log in. If they'd just had the grid in different places it wouldn't be a problem.

I have big hopes for ICS
4. With apps in general? Because ICS has started a trend for better resolution support. With notifications I suggest getting glasses. Also in the themes and apps forum there is an app to increase font size called Big Font.
Mostly the webbrowser, even though you zoom max, it's very small text, and it's hard to highlight words. I will try Dolphin more extensively.
5. That defeats the point of a reminder.
It's just that you should have better options for the sound level (now it's a bearaly audiable "ding" or something), and it should also be a pop-up window or with a OK-button or so.
6. No but some custom launchers like go launcher provide this option.
Ok, will try that.
7. I have a wifI only version so no idea. But the clock should always stay in the bottom bar.
It doesn't, you have to go back to home screen to see the clock.
8. Its meant to be this way. Its a feature from smartphones. It stops your face pressing buttons on the screen when you put the speaker grill to your ear.
Well, it should be an option to turn it off since this is a 7.7 inch tablet and mostly you will use a headset.
9. No comment.
10. For the clock/alarm app?
11. Hold the letter e (é) and u (ü) down on the Samsung keyboard.
Thanks!
12. The play store offers alternative browsers like opera and dolphin hd, try some.
Will do!

I know, but they certainly have the hardware for it, they just don't use it properly.
If Apple had an ~7 inch tablet from which you could make calls, I would've probably bought that.

As much as I hate to mention, ICS has face recognition unlock feature which doesn't leave any grease mark for James Bond; or if you are the impatient kind like me, you could considering getting the FaceLock for apps Pro (paid app) which as similar phone lock feature for non-ICS Android devices.

You have multiple questions in one go. XD
First of all you could really re-size the screen size on running application, you could find the corresponding option in the notification bar when the tablet detects it.
Reminders and other notifications is easily missed, yes...but you could try NoLED app, or FaceLock apps Pro I mentioned earlier. (Do not use both, I tried, and miserably failed)
Text can be resized with app like BigFont. I don't use it, as it messed up with the default calendar app (though you can circumvent that with third-party calendar app)

Yeah adding and sorting bookmarks is still a major harrass, especially when you utilize Google sync bookmark features.

I take it that you are trying to add a number from inside the phone app to an existing contact?
#1 If you are in Dialer, press the icon to the right of the number and you can either save it as a new contact, or add it to an existing contact.
#2 If you are in Logs, the trick is to long click on the entry in the left pane, select "Edit number before call", which will bring you to the dialer, and you to #1 above, where you can proceed accordingly. (If you select "Add to Contacts", it will be a new contact.*)
#3 Still in Logs, long clicking on the entry itself (on the right) will copy the number to clipboard. Which will allow other possibilities...
*This is peculiar to the Samsung phone app and I agree that they should not have done it this way. It's not how it works in Vanilla ICS on my Galaxy Nexus.
Hope that helps.

Use Dolphin HD. It solves the first and the last two problems. I'm not sure why but the browser sometimes reloads when you switch on the 7.7--it didn't do so (or do so as much) on either my Galaxy Nexus (ICS) or even on my old HTC HD2 running Android Gingerbread. Might be a Honeycomb thing.

Wow, ok...
1) Open the dialer
2) Enter a number
3) Click the 'add to contact' icon immediately to the right of the number you just entered
4) You are immediately taken to your list of contacts
5) At this point you have 2 options, click 'New" to add a new contact or click on any contact from the list
6) Upon clicking any one of the contacts in your list, that contact is immediately opened and the new number automatically added to the list of phone numbers for that contact...from there you can specify the number type (work, home, mobile, etc.)
I honestly can't imagine a scenario any more intuitive & straight forward than this. Please describe (if you can) what would be 'better than this'?

It doesn't, you have to go back to home screen to see the clock.

Wrong. The taskbar on the bottom is still there during calls, and the clock is still visible. I'm looking at it right now as I type this.
For someone with 5 years of "IT higher learning", you're not exhibiting much in the way of higher intelligence here in my opinion. You are aware that there's a thing called a search engine, right? Google is kind of a popular one. Millions of people from all over the world have been using Android for several years, and nearly every question/complaint you raised in your original list has been asked, discussed & addressed by someone at some point. Instead of jumping onto a forum and ranting off your list of 'problems', you might want to poke around a bit & see if there's already an answer out there.
1. When you turn off the sound it doesn't turn off everything, sounds on webpages still plays.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.audiowidget&hl=en
2. The screen unlock pattern is in the same place so it's easy to see it because of the grease the finger is leaving behind.
Seriously? Clean the screen frequently; Try a non-glossy screen protector; Use a PIN or a password to unlock the screen rather than a pattern.
This is the one item on your list that I would call a real 'problem'. A bluetooth mouse helps if this is something you need to do very often.
Honeycomb is a smartphone OS first, and a tablet OS second. ICS bridges that gap much better, but there will always be some compromises. The Android phone market is bigger (much bigger) than the tablet market, so there will always be somewhat of a slant toward smartphone functionality-wise.
5. Reminders from the calendar is to discreet, it should be something that you have to turn off manually so you dont miss it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitfire.development.calendarsnooze&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5iaXRmaXJlLmRldmVsb3BtZW50LmNhbGVuZGFyc25vb3plIl0.
6. Can you create a shortcut to a file on the startscreen/desktop?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gau.go.launcherex&feature=search_result
7. The clock doesn't show when you make a call so you can't check the time
Yes, it does.
8. The screen locks itself quickly when you make a call, in like 10 s, even though you have set it on 5 mins. Very annoying when you want to check things on the pad during a call.
This is by design, and another byproduct of honeycomb being a smartphone OS first and a tablet OS second. You may notice that the tablet does have a proximity sensor with related settings. If you make a call and pass your hand over the sensor it will blank the screen...remove your hand and the screen reappears. This mirrors the functionality you'd expect when you put the 'phone' up to your ear..again geared toward how you'd expect a smartphone to work. Honestly, I'm not sure that the target demographic for this tablet will use it as their primary mobile phone all that much. But for those that do, it's a pretty minor inconvenience...so you have to push the power button to get the screen back...just not that big of a deal.
9. Adding a new phone number to a contact is very unlogical, and it takes alot of steps. Why not just have, "add phone number to contact" when you have marked the number??
Wrong. It's very logical and very intuitive. 2 clicks & done.
10. You can't set the timer on an certain amount of hours and/or min, just a time?
Who does this? Why? If you want to wake up 1 hour & 45 minutes later can you not just do some simple math in your brain and set the timer to what the time will be 1 hours & 45 minutes later?
11. I can't write é and ü which is used sometimes in my language, the signs ¨ and ´ just doesn't exist. But a ton of smiliys do...strange choice by Google/Samsung.... (yes, I have the local version of the OS)
Someone already answered this.
12. Then it's the browser:
* You can't move tabs
* Tabs has to reload when you switch between them
* Very long procedure to add a bookmark
* You can't sort the bookmarks the way you want.
Numerous browser options in the play store.
13. The music player can't do shuffle
Numerous music player options in the play store.
This was just the most important things, then it's alot of other annoying things that doesn't work correctly and that are just illogical.
Wrong. In my opinion, you're just lazy. Android is not a kindergarten children's toy like iOS. If that's what you want or need, you should get an Apple. There's a learning curve with Android, but if you invest a bit of time, you will be rewarded with an experience that's ultimately more satisfying than iOS (at least in my opinion).
Overall it doesn't seem like a product that is ready for selling, If this was a computer OS it would've been called version 0.1 alfa.
Return it & buy an Apple.
If you have any tips or apps that solve the above listed things, please post here. My wife would be super happy.

Yeah, this and so many more "little" things is what makes me hate android. This tablet was my first device and I can safely say I will never buy another android device again. I'll probably get an I pad 4 when it comes out. I'm just sick of finding out more things my tab can't do. Its really dissapointing as the reason I chose this over an I pad was the smaller screen size but its just not worth it

You can make a similar list of annoyances or personal preferences for any tablet, so such lists are pretty useless for it is always a trade-off between annoyances and delights and for me the delights on the 7.7 far outweigh the annoyances compared to any other tablet. So rather than buy a tablet then whinge about it you should check it out first.

[Q] Want to move or "eliminate" the home icons

My biggest actual usability issue with Nexus 7 is the home icons. It's too easy to swipe them during game play, especially annoying when you are trying to keep the kids busy. I'd like a mod with 2 options:
1. Drag it to the top (or the side?)
2. Even better, Make it go away until the table is "sleeped" and restarted.
Is there an simple option/rom that does these 2 simple things without tons of stuff I don't care about (that affect updates, etc)? If not, which mods do you recommend and feel good about that can at least do this?
Thanks
I'm not understanding what you're asking. How can you swipe away home screen icons when you are playing a game that takes up the whole screen? Using an alternate launcher from the market, like Apex launcher, will allow you to lock the desktop so that no changes can be made until you unlock it again.
When I play a full screen game I don't want to have any OS home/etc icons that can be swiped accidently. I just want to have to exit through a menu, or sleep the device (tap the power button) and wake it up again so the icons return (since not all games have an exit feature). Locking my home screen or desktop does me no good when I am in a game. I'll give apex a try, but it looks to me like it doesn't do what I want. I'm satisfied with the stock environment except for the one issue I describe. How many times have you accidently left a game?

I would say the best way to do what you're trying to do is to flash Paranoid Android or another ROM that offers what is called "expanded desktop mode".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800268
Basically "expanded desktop mode" is exactly what you are asking for. When you briefly hold down the power button in Paranoid Android (and this works in any app) a menu pops up that allows you to select "expanded desktop mode" which makes the navigation bar disappear. The navigation bar will reappear when you briefly hold down the power button again and select "expanded desktop mode again".
This feature may be part of other ROMs based on cyanogenmod but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe another member with more knowledge can weigh in on this.

I used paranoid android on my htc sensation. It is a cool Rom with a lot of features!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Extended Desktop Mode will certainly do the job. But, I don't really want a major desktop redo (I know, that attitude isn't in the spirit of the great things the developers do here). Is there anyway to just install an extended desktop app?
It doesn't even need to be an extended desktop (the screen space isn't a big issue), Just a disabled home bar would do the trick.
Anyway to make a rom with just that feature? (I have some programming skills) Not sure where to start though. Just trying for a minimalist solution.
Thanks for helping. It's really appreciated. I learn a little more every day about what is happening here.

Second Screen Won't Stay on Music

The title pretty much sums up the issue... I am under the impression that when the main screen is off, and the second screen is on, you can do certain things like control music playback, which I do.
When I am in the car I have my phone connected to the car via bluetooth. My passengers ought to be able to use my phone's second screen to play, pause and skip tracks. But it seems that the default second screen (notifications, date, time and battery level) always shows. So swiping left or right is always needed to find the music controls. If music is already playing, should the music controls automatically become active on the second screen?
When I am in the office on my own I sometimes play music on my phone's speaker. Like in the car, when music is playing, should the music controls come to the front so I have access to them right away? I'm doing this today, and I've noticed that I have to swipe left or right to get to the music controls, but they do not stay. The default screen (notifications, date, time and battery level) takes over after approx. 5 seconds. This is frustrating!
Go into the second screen settings, long press "show second screen when phone is off", now from the list make sure music player is checked and drag it to the top so it's the first screen that is shown. You can do the same when the screen is on.
Edit: never mind it seems that the notification panel takes priority with the screen off.
I had the same annoyance with the v10, wish they would fix it.
It should function like it does when the screen is on, if you set the music player to the top when the screen turns on it immediately appears I wonder why they castrated the screen when off? I would think they would mirror the function of it while it is on.

Hi. I planned to post before you had made those edits, cos what you have described is different to what I see...
I'm using the V20 H990DS, and upon going into Settings > Second Screen, I have three options, "Show when main screen on", "Show when main screen off" and then "More". First two are enabled, but there's no difference between tapping them or long pressing. Can you confirm if a long press is necessary? When I go into "Show when main screen off" I do not get a list like you describe. Instead I get "Default screen" and "Quick Tools". And then a "Daily timeout". Ignoring the "Daily timeout" for now, going into "Default screen" gives only two options... "Date & time" or ""Signature".
Maybe I should do a system update... I'm running Android 7.0, Android security patch level is 1 Nov 2016, Kernel is 3.18.31, build no. is NRD90M, and Software version is V10b-TWN-XX. There IS an update available, however if anyone else reading this is on a newer version than this and still has the same "bug" I have regarding the second screen not staying on the music controls, what is the point for me?
Its not a bug. Its not supposed to stay on music. There is no option to keep it on music.
Well, that's why I put it in quotation marks. It's not a bug per se, but it is annoying we don't have the option to keep it on that screen.
You actually just have to tap the entry to get the list of options you can put on the second screen, tap "show when the main screen is on", the listing on the "show when the main screen is off" unfortunately is extremely limited.
I wish they'd update the options in the screen off screen to match the on options. The signature option is lame in my opinion and should be replaced with something more functional.
Sent from my LG-H918 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I agree with you 100%. The signature is not practical at all. It's the sort of feature you might find on a Nokia 3310.
