Well, finally got a Jelly Bean OTA update this afternoon. My GT2 7.0 is now running 4.1.1 and the whole process was painless and without any issues. All seems to be working well though I have to admit that I had hoped they would put it at 4.1.2 or even 4.2 but maybe they will put out another update one day - before I go on medicare...

Just bought my a500 yesterday and it was on 3.0.1. As soon as I connected to wifi it asked to update so I did. It updated to 3.1. This morning it tossed me another update, when I looked in the version it still shows 3.1. Any idea what this could be?

Some updates have to be done incrementally. Your first update was probably to take you to 3.1 (full update) where this new one is probably a minor update for bug fixes.
Interesting...last night I was messing around with my phone. I flashed the 2.3.1 fastboot images, booted up, fully expecting to see the update notification for "Ice Cream Sandwich MR1 (4.0.3)" as I always have. Much to my surprise, however, it instead said "Nexus S Update to Android 2.3.6".
Maybe this is a good sign that a new ICS update is coming soon.
Discuss.
When is the last time you got an OTA? For most people OTAs have been disabled for quite some time.
Two weeks ago my phone would still update 2.3.x to 4.0.3 via OTA.

Well, I don't know that it means a 4.0 is on the horizon or just that 4.0.3 was worse than they thought. Either way, I guess we will see a release in the next few weeks. It seems the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S haven't sort of stopped receiving updates lately. My guess is they are trying to update both devices to a newer less buggy build.
I got my nexus i9023 a few days ago. It was 2.3.3 and I got no OTA. I flashed to 2.3.6 and still no OTA.

Since they initially disabled ICS OTAs in certain countries, the OTA update system was completely shut down for those users. If ICS isn't being rolled out to anyone, I would guess it is the same and no one will get any OTA updates for any versions. I don't understand why Google is doing this but it isn't new.
Yes. They did the same thing for US users when they pulled the 2.3.3/GRI40 update. Anyone who had 2.3, 2.3.1 or 2.3.2 had no OTA at all until 2.3.4 came out.

I've seen the announcement that ICS OTA would be rolled out to India. I've been checking the system update every day several times. It's supposed to be informing the servers to prioritize my tablet, but nothing so far
Anyone in India got the OTA ICS update?
Edit : How do I move this to Q& A using Tapatalk?

India ICS
Even I waited for a long time for any updates available, but there is no such update till now. Its better to root your tab and install a stock rom.
I did the same and its working much better than the custom rom which was installed in my tab.
I you chose to wait, than it may take some more time. Till than you might find Jelly bean in market. So, I suggest you to root your tab and install a custom rom.
OK so im very confused here... I have Nexus S 4g unlocked/rooted. I have the original Clockwork recovery.
I am running ICS, as soon as it was released OTA and someone made it into a flashable zip file with no mods I flashed it... I gained all my security features back as in being able to use my mobile banking instead of it saying that there was an issue with the security of the phone. I love this version and that I have the benefits of a rooted phone but still get to use everything as a non rooted android...
also I am using the radio and bootloader that was released with the ICS OTA
yesterday (9/13/12) I recieved an OTA update notification to update to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean
I really want the offical OTA version but dont want to unroot the phone.
Is it safe to download this OTA or will it brick my phone?
If it is not safe what are my options to get this stock version w/o mods on my phone?
I really need to do something ASAP as my children get my phone all the time and this notification pops up like every 15 mins and only gives me options to install later, more info, and install now, and I dont want my children to plan on it and end up installing the update and bricking my phone!
Thank you sooo much!
Just flash one of the OTA roms on here for jellybean

Not sure how many other people are getting this update. But I just got Android 4.4 KitKat on my Moto X.
Its downloading right now and should be installed in the next few minutes.
Odd Note:
I got another (very small) update before the kitkat update came.
This small update failed, so when I went to go retry it instead of saying the the other update it said that KitKat 4.4 was ready to download. :victory:

And the second one worked no problem? I thought it failed by me because of root, are you rooted?

So, 4.4 failed too. Perhaps because of my bootloader unlock? I'm not rooted.
Anyone have any guides to revert to full stock?
Got the 4.4 update today. Didn't notice a intermediate update though. - stock - locked BL.
The update started last week, and the stock firmware is posted in a thread with instructions

I'm stock and not unlocked. Update came through attempted to install and it says something to the effect of no recovery. Sprint now has my phone to see if they can fix it.

Finally got KitKat here as well. Little disappointed about the dialer lacking nearby searching.

Will I lose root if I update?

need to flash to stock then take the OTA or you'll see endless reboot loop.
