At work my nexus 4 goes on 2g and won't switch back. Worked fine for the first few weeks but lately happens all the time, I need to get out of work for it to work. Tried to turn it off, data off and back on but nothing.
I am on tmobile UK as other people at work and they haven't got that problem, they get full bars H.
Does anyone knows or has the same problem.?
Almost giving up on android

Do they also have T-Mobile UK? Check your APN settings

There is an "Enable 2G only" option that you may have checked accidentally?
Settings > More > Mobile Network Settings
None of the above checked all of it data enabled and tmobile settings match my colleagues phone.
Don't remember when this started to happen but has been more then 3 weeks.
Weird is the other tmobile with same settings have no problems.

Hi,
every time I am in my workplace my signal changes to G and wont turn back to H.
Other guy that works with me has H all the time 3 to 4 bars and wont change (lg optimus black), on the same network.
I found out that selecting the network manually does the trick but I have to keep doing that and sometimes wont work.
I know Orange\t mobile\ee are the same and i only get H by selecting orange/EE.
Any ideas because T-Mobile support hasn't got a clue.
I have poor reception at work, which is in a metal building. Moving 6ft from my desk turns it into a perfect signal.
3G is VERY hit and miss in this sort of situation.

I am getting similar problems at home, I hadn't experienced this up until now. However my situation is a bit different. My net stays at 'HSPDA' but when apps try to access data it becomes unresponsive as in there is a big delay and slow speeds. I tested my connectivity via 'Speed Test' app but is shows perfectly fine with '4-5mbps and upload of 1-2mbps).
I tried setting the data to 'WCDMA only' from 'WCDMA preffered' but it made no difference and even tried 'LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)'.
I'm hating the merge with Orange, it made everything slow and worse!
Anyone can help?
Still have the same problem
If I go into the hidden settings, which preferred network should I chose?
It is WCDMA preferred.

When I go into the *#*#4636#*#* menu to change my network from WCDMA preferred to WCDMA only, I do not know how to make it stick. When I select it and back out of the menu, I recheck and it defaults back to WCDMA, what am I missing out on for these not sticking?

So weird, everything I have read says just select it but it will not stick
Are you on 4 2.2? The last update locked that hack down.

I'm getting mega problems network goes weird this can only be fixed by setting network to only wcdma which doesn't stick on reboot I think this Is how three uk work as they really only use 3g or above only, has Google thought this out and why have they blocked network settings on reboot
*#*#4636#*#*
Phone information, set network type, select what you want see if that helps.

That's good same as the network app I use but it will not stay on reboot it goes back to preferred

I'm running Odyssey rom with neo 14 kernel and I cant enable 2g. I have tried selecting different options under *#*#info#*#* but nothing works. I also have tried flashing different modems. I need 2g cause some places I go doesnt have 3g service with my provider. Otherwise this rom and kernel combo just ROCK! Any help or suggegstions would be appricated.
Settings > more > mobile networks
No. That doesn't do it. Its something else. Sure I can check 2g only but I don't get service then. I can only get service in 3g

Anyone know?
Dial *#*#5636#*#*. Choose phone settings, scroll down and select network. Change APN settings to wpc.T-Mobile.com

I am sorry I should have mentioned this earlier
My phone was enabled for LTE 2 days ago and yesterday I made a mistake by choosing 3G from settings
So currently it is on 3G
But I would like to know how to toggle between 3G and LTE/4G
Sorry for the confusion
