Quick Kernel Question... - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is Faux's kernel the only one at present where you can properly UC all cores and disable cores as necessary?
Also, do any of the current Kernels include the MSM wakelock patches or has everyone reverted due to data drops?

Franco has a few wake lock fixes for sure. I don't believe faux does.

Why don't you ask in the kernel thread for the kernel you wish to use?

As far as I know you can also use bricked kernel and configure the settings using faux's app.

The thing I notice is this, the developers don't use use their own stuff they use each others stuff too. For example you might see some of fauxs features in bricked kernel and you might see some of bricked features in other kernels.

[Q] What kernel do you use with cm10?

Just curious what kernel everyone uses. I know everyone's experience is different because of hardware and usage, but just wanted to know.

I switch out between Clemsyn's kernel 1.8ghz w/ 650mhz gpu and Trinity's latest kernel.

Best kernel for stock rom?

I prefer balanced battery and peformance. Please advice. Thanks
All kernels work differently for different people. Try a bunch and see what works.

Franco kernel lets you overclock the gpu to what ever you want (416-750 and anything in between) so with that in mind you can create your own balance of battery vs performnce.
You cant overclock cpu but honestly it isnt needed.
Also with his latest release r25 th whol devive is much more responsive. Touchscreen etc.

you cant. not yet
Oh I thought I heard you could change the voltages with Franco kernel so I kept trying to see which apps work but found none thanks though what's limiting the nexus 4? Is there any other way to under volt?

Franco personally is not a fan of undervolting. He'll probably make sure the kernel is stable before he adds the undervolting feature. There's been a lot of ironing out going on with the kernel and adding undervolting capabilities would probably cause more trouble if its implemented now.

all our devices are different when it comes to uv. some can uv more, some less. best way to get your answer is to try it out. what programs to use.. there are too many that are in the market. franco kernel app is one of them.
Screenshot of my undervolt values on franco m1 been perfectly stable but just make sure you do not tick set voltages on boot until your perfectly sure it is stable

Okay, I just reduced -25 everything.
Works like a charm.
