Bluetooth verses Ford Sync - Galaxy Note II General

Whenever I use Bluetooth through my Ford Sync on my car the voice guided features I have s voice take a really long time to respond. When I try to use the Google built in voice features they cannot hear me and totally fail. Is this a problem with the software or does Ford SYNC not work right?

It happens when the device is connected as a "phone" and a "media player." It's happened on my One X and N2 pretty consistently no matter what car audio/nav system I'm connected to. So I'm guessing it's an Android thing having to do with A2DP.

And how would I go about changing the way that my phone is connected? Not that I don't frequently use the media features but I would just like to see it work right for once.

Once the phone's connected to the car, go in to the BT settings for the car as shown on the phone and uncheck "media device" so only "phone" shows connected.

Bluetooth connection starts Mediaplayer

I want to use my TD2 with my bluetooth handsfree set, but it starts the mediaplayer, everytime a connection was established. Is there a way to prevent windows mobile to start the mediaplayer in this szenario?
Tube
I have the same issue, but its when pairing with my car stereo (Bluetooth handfree), but it also start streaming music through the line1 connection to my car stereo !!!
Funny I always wanted to do this, but could not, so went the integrated Ipod route, now I can I don't bloody want it.
Anyway, so far no solution
Same story to me. Also issue's bluetooth. when i want to controll my phone with bluetooth, it starts mediaplayer automaticly.
Hello, does anyone have a solution for this problem? my girlfriend has the same problem.
Have you tried disabling the "wireless stereo" (A2DP) service? Go to Comms manager-Bluetooth-Advanced, then tap and hold on the offending item till the menu comes up, choose "edit", then uncheck "Wireless stereo", leaving just the handsfree profile checked.
I'm assuming you're not interested in the stereo music function, of course!
Already tried that, if you do that you lose BT to the car.
Odd as there are three connections:
- Hands free;
- Wireless stereo;
- Serial port.
Trying any combination aside from handsfree & wireless stereo on, results in losing BT via the car stereo

Have you tried pairing it again from scratch rather than modifying the existing profile? If you delete the car stereo from the list, and then re-pair them using the windows pairing dialogue (rather than the TF3D one) I think you get the chance to specify right from the start which profiles you want to use before you connect,if I remember right.
You might even need to delete the TD2's registration info in your car stereo, if possible, either through the menu of the stereo, or by registering another basic phone before trying the TD2 again. This would work if your car stereo can only store the details of one bluetooth device at a time.
As a last resort you could try disabling A2DP on the TD2 through the registry.
Bluetooth has come a long way, I remember when it was complete crap, now it usually goes smoothly, but every now and then the crap side shows up again and causes massive frustration. I've got a Parrot Party speaker, which when there's a break of more than 15 seconds or so in the music from the TD2, the connection lapses. It still looks like it's connected, on both units, but it's not. You have to turn the speaker off, close the music player app, then re-link both for it to work again. I'm sorry it's off-topic, just venting about the "crap side" of Bluetooth.

Thanks, i've tried every which way so far, but the problem remains, I found the only workaround is to remove any today or touchflo music tabs, at least that stops my TD2 steaming and drawing battery. Instead it opens windows media player, but i've purposely left that empty so at least nothing is being played (i.e. drawing power)
Bluetooth has come a long way, thats so funny you say that, I always wanted to be able to do this, but now my ipod is integrated into my car i don't.
Has anyone figured this out yet? Windows Media Player starts when connecting to the bluetooth factory fitted car kit when I don't want it to !
Is there a reg hack to stop Windows Media Player starting when the pairing takes place on the car's ignition?
Thanks!
T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab
I had the same problem and I solved it installing T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab

I am not sure whether T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab has some drawbacks as claimed in the above thread, I am using pocketmusic on my Topaz wm6.5.1 italian paired with a parrot mk6000, still have some minor issues I can live with

Work around for Bluetooth Handsfree Problem

I just got a TMOUS HD2 and had the same problems a lot of other people are having connecting it to my car. It connects to the car correctly, downloads the address book, but no sound comes through the cars speakers and the call doesn't register on the cars phone display. I searched XDA and there seems to be a bunch of registry change posts that don't seem to work all the time and disable some features. By doing the following I get it to work consistently with all the features enabled.
1) Turn off the data connection and Bluetooth in Comm Mgr
2) Turn on Bluetooth and connect (or pair) the phone with the car
3) Make a call
4) While in the call, turn the data connection back on
It works for my Land Rover RRS and stays working until I reset the phone. After I reset, I just go through the above procedure again.
I don't know if it works for every car make but it should work for most Volvos, Jaguars, and Land Rovers since most of them use common bluetooth systems.
Hope this helps somebody.
I am having the same issue. I have to manually connect the music stream. The phone stream always connects. Hoping for a fix from T-Mobile.

My car doesn't support A2DP - the phone's separate from the audio head. All the car's phone features work though - voice recognition, conference calling, transfer to and from the handset, and address book and digit dial. I wouldn't hold my breath for a fix though. It's the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack that HTC started using with the TP2 so there are over a year's worth of complaints logged with HTC and no sign of a fix.
well, not much to be said for the Microsoft bluetooth stack either. I have a 2010 LR4 and can't get my HTC Raphael/Touch Pro/Fuze to keep a connection. Hard to know what the problem is, starting a WiFi or GPS session often resets the connection, in addition to the random drops, sometimes mid-call.
When I tried an iPhone though, it worked fine, naturally.

X10 phone directory not transferring to car bluetooth system

I have paired my x10 with my car's bluetooth phone system(BMW) but the directory from my phone does not transfer to the car. My previous phones (blackberry tour, ,nokia n95) was able to do this automatically. Any ideas or is this an android OS problem (like bluetooth voice dailling)?
Also does the Voice Dialler app on the x10 actually work? I have never got it to do anything I say (might well be just me as I have the same problem with my kid).

I can't access my phone book from my car deck either. So basically I have to dial from the phone and then use the bluetooth to speak with. Also when streaming songs from the phone to the car deck, the name of the song being played won't be show. It displays unknown on my car deck. However with a blackberry or iphone it shows the exact name of the track being played and etc. Is there any way to fix this, I'm 100% sure it's not a problem with my car's deck since other phones that I pair with it don't have this option. I haven't tried voice dial yet... shall try it in a day or two and see if that works or not.
Its a bug from android itself not sony they fixed it in 2.0,lots of pioneer unit wont connect at all, under the bluetooh setting ,after you have discover your device, you will see the name of it,press on it and hold another menu will open.Go option and then deactivate the second option.IT should help worked for me on my pionner device.

[Q] Different Bluetooth Profiles for One Device?

Here's the situation: I have a bluetooth headset that I use in my car for phone calls only, and the media audio goes out of the Car Dock 3.5mm connector. When I work out, I use the bluetooth headset for phone calls AND media audio to listen to music through it.
Question: Is there an APP of some sort that would allow me to create somewhat of a bluetooth profile for my bluetooth headset that would quickly change the bluetooth settings on my headset?
I tried doing some searches, but I was unable to find anyone who has this situation, and I wasn't able to find a Market APP that appeared to do what I want; does anyone know of one?

I had a simular situation, sort of. I have a Blue Ant S4 in the jeep that I wanted to always launch Vlingo In-Car when connected, and a Motorola head set that I want to always launch "Voice Controls" when it is connected. I found that with Tasker I was able to do exactly what I wanted. I don't know that Tasker will do exactly what you want, but maybe you can get "close enough"

That is quite an app, looks like it can do alot, but not what I need to be done. I will definitely try Tasker out, possibly for other reasons, so thank you for the idea.
At this time, Tasker can't change Bluetooth settings/device profiles.

my nexus 4 is on stock 5.1.1 rom.
since 5.0 i have problem with Bluetooth connectivity with my car, it keep trying to sync contacts from the device to the car and probably crash on the car media device, so it keep to connect/disconnect.

Can't you just go into the Bluetooth menu, turn bluetooth on, and under Paired Devices hit the cog for the BT connection to your car and just uncheck "Contact Sharing"? This should revoke the authorization and stop the sync.
