Whenever I turn on Bluetooth on my note to a big pop covers the screen and ask me what to connect to. Is there anyway I can disable this? It stops me from being able to use the phone quickly.

It annoys me too but cant see an obvious way of stopping it.

Are you turning bluetooth on and off all day? It should only d do it once and then devices will connect after that without intervention.

Press back button. ..it vanishes as quickly as it appears. ..
I know it can be a nag but it is a useful feature for a lot

I actually like it. I have several devices that I connect to throughout the day and it makes it much simpler than my Evo 3D that I had before this phone. With that one I had to turn it on,then go into the settings and pick the device I wanted to connect to. This way I turn on BT and hit the one I want. If u don't like it, then hit the back button and it's gone just like that.

So, for some reason, my Bluetooth doesn't function properly as it should, which is weird, since my phone is still on stock, and the only modifications I've made are unlocking the bootloader and rooting the device. I also installed Power Toggles, but I don't think that's the issue at hand.
Pretty much, whenever I turn the bluetooth on, it tries for a while to turn it on, then gives up and won't let me turn it on. At that point, I have to restart the phone, and when it reboots back up, the bluetooth is on without me having to start it up. Then it works properly, but if I wish to use the bluetooth again the next day, I have to repeat the process of rebooting the device. Any ideas?
I had this issue when I Downloaded a FM radio app from the Play store to see if it would work. I just deleted the app. Went into safe mode then into normal mode and it fixed it.
Don't know what you case can be. But you can try going into safe mode and back to normal and see if there are any different results.

I had this same problem after installing Torque, and using it with default settings that auto-enabled/disabled bluetooth. After turning all that crap off it is back to normal.
I use bluetooth for audio playback and an hf/A2DP headset dialing via Motospeak, as well as Torque with a bluetooth odb2 interface, and it all works perfectly since disabling Torque's auto-bluetooth settings. My only issue is that it takes Motospeak a bit long to restore audio playback after a hf call command.
I would look for an app that you have that is the controlling bluetooth on/off.
I wonder if it isn't a software bug. I have the same issue but I don't have any apps that are causing the issue of atleast from what I can tell. I'm also unlocked and rooted.
I removed Bluetooth from Power Toggles. It's been two days and all seems well. Now we wait.

Nope, still doesn't work.

Nothing yet? I'm just curious as to whether it's just a few people experiencing this, or a lot, since there doesn't seem to be that much talk about it.
I use Bluetooth everyday on my way home from work just to connect to my Bluetooth headset. Out of 14 days I may get one day where I turn Bluetooth on that I don't have to reboot for it to work.

So we're on 4.2.2, I've went through safe mode and back a few times, and I've uninstalled and installed applications having to do with the Wi-Fi. Problem still seems to be there. It's just somewhat of a hassle to have to power down my phone completely, then start it back up, everytime I get into my car. I feel a hard reset mighttt fix the issue, but just looking for another way as of now.
My phone also have the same problem.. the bluetooth won't turn on.. stock 4.2.2 locked bootloader and not root yet.. anyone has a solution..

My Nexus 4 shows the same thing unless I actually turn off the wifi. I just leave my wifi on so when I come home it auto connects.
Weird minesays the same. I had my wifi off for at least 5hours

You have to go into WiFi settings and select one of the other features in advanced settings
TWEAKED 2.5
Because your WiFi radio keeps actively searching for an active signal unless you turn it off.

I believe the option in the advanced settings is "Scanning always available". If you turn that option off it should stop.

Simple, because the WiFi radio is on.
I have found WiFi battery usage to be very odd on the Note, at least Note 1. I used to have it turn off on screen off (settings default), but that caused battery drain. I then used Llama (Location Aware Mobile App?) to turn it off when the screen was off after a minute. Still drained.
I eventually left it on all the time I was at home or work, and it was much, much better. I guess going on and off all the time was the drag, or caused another issue.
I then used Llama to turn it off whenever I leave home or work, and turn it back on when I arrive. Happiness achieved.
I just drag down the notification bar and hit the toggle. One less active app to hog memory and battery...
Then again I also turn off mobile data when it is not needed. That spares me a full 4 days, and that's just on the s3. Imagine how long a note3 would last... (I'll know when my order finally arrives...)

Hello XDA. I've noticed that my new Note 4 has been dropping the wifi connection while using the Internet. So what happens is the wifi button suddenly becomes grey and I have to press it to enable it again. It works for a while and then it drops off again...then I gotta press it to enable it...
I've discussed this with Verizon and they are suggesting i do the dreaded factory reset.
I have a feeling that I'll be sending this one back...
Any advice from the experts? Thanks in advance.
Are you having this problem at multiple locations or just one? If at multiple locations, I'd have to agree to try a full reset. If at one, could be a router issue.
Just to cover all the bases, you haven't any power management or something like tasker that could be turning off wifi?
No power management software installed and I really haven't used it much anywhere other than my home wi-fi so I guess I should double check it tomorrow on other networks to confirm before the reset.
I had a similar issue with my Note 3 where I couldn't get wifi to stay on no matter where I was and I needed a new phone...that was after using it for 9 months with no issues....this Note 4 is brand new.
If you are using smart network switch option try to disable it and see if its ok

hello
i have note 4 n910c with 6.0.1
My screen doesn't automatically time out if I press the home button or the power button to turn on my screen. In order for the screen to turn off, I have to manually press the power button. Otherwise, the screen just stays on and drains my battery !!!!!
I should also note that if I receive notifications, my screen lights up and I have to either dismiss the notification or manually turn off the screen.
i downgraded to 5.1.1 it worked for few days then the same issue again
i formatted my device and flashed most recent stock rom 6.0.1 again few days and the same problem screen not turn off automatically
any solutions?
by the way when i use smart manger and end all RAM applications screen turn off work good immediately then after few minutes not turn off again
You can try widgetsoid app, that haves a big list of toggle widgets, and no lock screen is one of their widgets.

Confirmed same issue here. Also same issue when using s-cover. Very annoying. Now that I've trained myself to manually turn off the screen, I'm getting much better battery life than I was with LP.

It would be helpful if you told others what the app was, so that they can try your solution when they come across this thread...

Hi, my phone version is Lg V20 H990DS, software version V10c-TWN-XX and
1) daily I'm noticing a large data usage by OS Service (I find out that in My Data manager app). Why?
2) When I connect my bluetooth headset for audio I don't hear enough loud when I set at maximun level. (My previous Note 4 gave in my headset a louder sound). Why?
3) When I play a clip and I set at maximum level and after I play a second clip the volume is set at a lower level automatically.
Do you have the same issues and eventually how did you fix them?

I'm having bluetooth issues with mine , also it takes awhile for the GPS to lock on to my location. This seems to be an ongoing issue because I also encountered the GPS issue with my G3.

I haven't had any GPS issues with the V20. My note 4 was slow and dropped occasionally, but the V20 has been good for me and my wife.

Some reason with my nexus and the samsung I had it would lock on in seconds. With my v20 it takes up to a minute. Do you leave it on all the time.
Yes, but when I come out of the building it doesn't see anything. But it locks within 10-15 seconds after that.

Yeah but its still pulling location data from wifi and mobile. Have it off for awhile completely turned off and turn it back on and see if it connects that quickly.

Sorry I forgot to do this Friday. I just checked and mine gets GPS lock very quickly. Have you checked any connectors on the back of the device? I know on my old note 4 the connectors had a terrible connection until I bent them a bit so it touched better.
