[Q] T-Mobile HTC Leo, Needs to be Unlocked - HD2 General

Hi...
I Bought a T-Mobile HTC Leo the (Rom 1024 Version),,, I installed HSPL 2.08 and MAGLDR, Then Installed Android ICS,, I Don't know My Radio Version
The Mobile Still Asks for a Code to Unlock the Network and SIM,,,
Can this be done if I installed the 2.15 Radio Version???? or is there any way that this can be done for free without buying the code fro the internet????? and If not,, which sites are really trusted to buy from???
Thanks alot

no, no free unlocking. Nothing to do with hspl, magldr or anything, , only way to network unlock is with a code.

I suggest contacting T-Mobile, or check top-rated sellers on ebay.

You should try on ebay for a code from unlock fusion: affordable, fast & reliable.
In order to use this code, you'll have to install a (WM) stock ROM.

Whoa, I'm famous!
Yeah since you have CWM you're in a better position than the guy I was replying to in that post, you can make a full NAND backup before flashing to WinMo so you'll keep all of your data.

Thanks alot guys for the fast responses,,, I think I'll Buy a Code from ebay Backup my Data,,, and flash back to WM,, then I'll try...

try it through android first, , you never know. There's some uncertainty, so it'd be a shame to wipe and flash for nothing.

Can he lose the code? I mean, is the code a one-time only?

hmm, good thought,,,
there are threads around where people claim to have used it under android and its stuck, , certainly in eth early days of android, it appeared to stick but was locked after a reboot, , thats where teh idea that it must be run under winmo came from.
Personally i only unlocked it once, , under winmo, so never had to think about it too much.

Rogers G1

I just got my hands on the new G1 that's been marketed for the Canadian provider Rogers. The phone doesn't get released till wednesday.
It runs the 1.5 firmware (customized for the Rogers brand).
Wondering if anyone is interested in a dump off this phone.
Yes we are interested in a dump of that freaking phone
Please dump I will be glad to give it haykuro if you cant get in contact with him
What's the big thing about the Rodgers G1? Been hearing a lot about it on here.
It's an "official" version ROM with the HTC custom applications like Exchange. Kind of like Haykuro's 6.0, but fully working.
I'd like to know the same thing.... who says it's running anything different than the vanilla cupcake ROM?

Rogers is claiming that it's HTC branded firmware. I'm sure the OP can confirm. It's definitely not Rosie, that stuff is unreleased alpha-quality code.
I believe it's been confirmed numerous times that it has exchange from HTC since it's not a "with Gooogle" phone.
sadly every dialog is suffixed with ',eh' - all occurances of 'about' have been replaced with 'aboot,' and the 'ou' naming scheme has been implemented for words like colour.

Correct. There is no mention of "Google" anywhere on the phone. I've attached a few pictures.
But since I'm a noob at the whole android thing, I need some help dumping this ROM.
- From the searching I've done, I'm guessing that Nandroid 2.0 is the tool to use?
- Do I need root access to do a ROM dump?
Any idiot proof guides out there I can use to get this done for you guys?

Yeah it's going to need rooted for a full dump. Does it have fastboot? (power + camera)
But we also know what most of this firmware is going to be like, you can probably get away with an "adb pull /system system" and get us most of the stuff we need to start hacking on it.

Thanks for the link. It worked fine for me, and didn't take very long. 6.5 uses a lot more memory than did 6.1, but no problems.

The differences between WM6.1 and WM6.5 are worthwhile, in my opinion...but better resource utilization isn't one of the benefits.
Disclaimer: My opinion of "worthwhile" may be different than others...but I can't imagine anyone preferring 6.1 over 6.5 unless minimum resource-utilization is their primary criterion.
Hey guys,
Possibley an ignorant question but this is my first window mobile device. Despite searching there is just too much info for me to figure it out on my own.
Is this a good version of WM 6.5 to update my UNLOCKED Touch Pro 2 with or will it re-lock my phone to T-mobile? I am in Canada am currently on the Fido network.
Also I am running WM 6.1 currently and have never upgraded a phone before.
I appreciate everyone's helpful advice.
Thanks,
Dan
So what happens to all my purchased apps? Do they transfer over? Coreplayer for example, I paid like 30 bucks for that. Would I lose it if I go to 6.5??

If you got a serial number, you probably are covered. But you might want to contact vendor first to make sure.

I haven't had a problem so far (with many different roms flashed). The paid-for apps accept the same "key" or serial number as I've used before.
Of course...that doesn't mean that all apps-companies are as nice....so yeah, might want to check first.

T-Mo US: Yes.
Same as leaked version (from 7-Jan)?: IDK. Some insist "yes"...which seems likely, but I don't know if that's been proven. I think they appear to be the same.

BIG problem please help

I have TMous HD2.was have magldr with win 7.tried to back 6.5 rom.then again and again boot screen tried hspl and radio and more rom.some thing wrong i did.then boot dead.then some one helped me and boot is back
but spl 2.00 and strange giving security unlocked massage and *** never seen boot screen like that
Some roms are not working for me.and some works but again boot screen after 100% done
please check the screen shot
what to do next?
Ok you have got a strange SPL that I have never seen before. So I Googled it and just about everything that Google pulled up is in Chinese or Japanese. I don't know how to tell the difference so sorry don't want to offend anyone by saying that. I did pull up a thread here on XDA about someone who had this SPL and it has solved in the title so you might want to check it out, it is only five pages long so not a lot to have to read. sorry but I don't have time to read it myself as I am a little busy today. Here is a link to the thread. And here is what Google pulled up. Also the sites with Asian writing that Google pulled up were talking about unlocking the phone somehow so maybe that is why it say Security Unlocked at the to p of your bootloader screen. Hope this helps and I will be checking back here to see how you are coming along. Oh and I have no doubt that this strange SPL you have is the reason your ROM did not flash or will not boot up. I sort of feel like the flash was good but the SPL version you have is no good for the ROM so it can not boot.
Look in the "tmous test and stock roms" thread, post 1, at the end of the roms list is a version of Hspl edited to work with spl 2 BUT not sure it works with 2.00.1000
Also, many of those Chinese sites mentioned above are concerning non tmous phones so the process they mention to fix it involves non tmous roms which will kill your phone.
Basically you flashed a manufacturing test rom/spl which doesn't allow itself to be updated normally.

Yes, load the following files from the lowest number to the highest, checking each one to see if it has the watermark. When you get to a version with no watermark, that one can be used with HSPL.

Her is a link to the "[ROM]Leo 1.5 T-MOBILE Test & Stock ROMS" thread that samsasmuel was talking about.
thanks for stepping in there Sam as I do not have time to read all of the stuff in the links Google pulled up for me. I was kinda wondering about if those ROMs were being talked about in those forums were compatible with the TMOUS. Also check your e-mail Sam lol.

What Stevedebi is saying is start with ROM 2.01 and work your way down the list of ROMs from there as they are listed in order from oldest to news as they are listed. And it does not matter if they are test or stock ROM just work your way through them until you find the one without the Watermark and the you can flash HSPL again.

The first few tmous roms were built to run on regular hd2 (or at least on non tmous spec test devices) presumably cos the tmous didn't exist to test them on. The first two have radio 2.04.50.x and 2.05.50.x which although they are ..50..s they are actually ..51..s.
@op sorry to read this thread ended up like this. Just goes to show that with the very best of intentions, its still absolutely critical that you (not "you" personally,,, the person being advised) takes any offered advice and confirms it to their own satisfaction. Especially when it comes to the tmous.
You can thank t mo for being greedy and wanting something "better", causing HTC to inadvertently build a phone with an "instant brick" switch, which you just accidentally tripped.

Part of the forums rules is not to use foul language by the way, I don't care but some people might so you should refrain from doing so.
As for your problem, you will probably have to follow the above post's advice. I don't understand why you couldn't have just changed the account through the market? Why bother with root explorer and deleting/renaming potentially crucial files? Makes no sense.
Finally, I got some answers! I feel like I'm in Fringe or sth.

I would recommend flashing NAND Android. this is a complete guide on how to do so.
Just listen to me. First flash winmo to see if everything is ok and to setup device sync (driver)

OK, I'll listen to you. 4shared.com is forbidden in Turkey so that there are problems with downloading from this webside, so I couldn't download the document you sent me first. Today a friend of me bring me ICS with a flash disc and now I'm trying to find a way to upload it my phone. It seems like theres a lot of thing that I need you to teach to me dear Serbian bro.......

[Install Q] Installing DataOnExt, after?

Hey Everybody,
first of all, Happy Merry Christmas,
guys, I try to understand if what I looking for can be done or if there is some way to do so.
I find many NAND Android ROMs which are without DataOnExt, for example HyperDroid-CM7.
But I will be glad to know if can be possible to install DataOnExt after flashing the ROM on NAND.
someone can tell me if this is possible? Please...
Cheers in advance..

Dear Marvlesz,
I was writing a PM to you just to ask you about that but I changed my mind and I opened this thread,
I saw that thread and like always you make me a criminal
That thread is a lot too complicated to make it right, there is not any easy way?
I mean flash DataOnExt anfter installation or something similar?
Haha, I am not making you a criminal or anything, but rather YOU are making yourself a criminal.
I mean seriously, here is a quote of that post:
How is this done?
The Easy way - Thanks to @Kokotas (Note that I have not updated Kokotas' .zip file to include the recent changes (20th October 2012) (See The Long Way below)
Visit the post (quoted below), thank @Kokotas, download the .zip from the post, flash it in recovery and lets us know how it goes. Did I tell you to make sure you have a NANDROID backup?

The only thing left is to ask us to flash the zip for you, come on!
It couldn't be any easier!
Please always .. oh forget it.
Enjoy.

I noticed that you rarely thank those who try to help you, or even manage to help you!
Thanks by words is not beneficial for them as much as pressing the thanks button. The button is there for a reason.
I also ask you kindly to go over your past threads, such as the almighty battery life thread, and thank everyone who tried to help you. Not just by saying "Thanks!", but by pressing their thanks button!
An example is shown on the above post, the thanks button is located right next to the "Quote" button.
I click thanks for you.
Last one thing, the DataOnExt have to be flasher via recovery, buy I do not have the recovery installed on my Phone, I got Android on NAND which was installed via MAGLDR in Flasher Mode.
Now if I will flash the Recovery my Android will be deleted, right?
I can't find any explanation for this, do I have reinstall all again?
I'm afraid you'll have to reinstall everything from scratch .
Why are you using the flasher anyway? All ROMs that use flasher are old and outdated .
(By the way, I didn't mean just thank me, I meant everyone.)

ACA Gingerbrad was only in this way before the release of 13-12-12 for NativeSD and NAND also via Recovery.

unless, like me, you use the original css styles, in which case we see neither the thanks meter nor the thanks button.

not so, , , OP could use cwm that runs from sd card, and use that to flash the dataonext.zip to the current android, , HOWEVER, , the fact that he has no cwm on there already tells us that the version of android he is using is probably the original proof of concept (desire stock) and may or may not work with an ext anyway (its not rooted, for a start), so OP would be better picking a more up to date rom anyway (one with dataonext built in would be a good start) and flashing again anyway.

I did that on one of my two HD2, 1 have Gingerbrad and the another one have ICS 4.0.4 but currently ICS give me big problems to run programs which Gingerbrad do not have. On ICS I can install the apps but they crash after run them.
So now I try to keep my Gingerbrad but expand it with DataOnExt, anyway run CWM from sd is a good idea, I will give a shot on that, if something go wrong I will reinstall all from scratch again.

I was skeptical when I wrote that sentence, because I knew you'd come and say something like that. Because that happened before.
But I also wanted him to cope with the rapid development of the HD2 and the recoveries. Besides, that ROM is outdated anyway, i.e. the ACA gingerbread.
