I rebooted my device, and suddenly it didn't get any signal
I have the sim card inserted, and it says No signal.
Any way to fix this?

Well Yeahh;;
And to add, this happened before, but it strangely dissappeared when I flashed a different kernel.
And it suddenly happened again. I have no idea what is going on;;

Ahh okay so you're flashing kernels no wonder you're having issues. Have you tried returning to stock?
Here are the things people like to know to help you:
Are you running a stock or custom ROM, what kernel are you using, is the sim a true micro sim or one you cut down to fit, who's your carrier. When this first happened did you do any modifications to the phone or was it completely stock? There could be any number of reasons why this happens and the more info you provide the better the quality of the help you receive.

I didn't, but the first thing i tried was to backup to original stock state it was in like 2 weeks ago. Still had no signal issues. But I know that the hardware is not broken, because it fixed itself before somehow. I don't know what I did though;;
I am running a xylon rom, and I was using a clemsynExtreme battery saver, and it is a true micro sim card. I have tmobile, but using a unlocked google play store n4. When this happened, I first had a matrix kernel with the xylon rom
Were you playing around with your APN settings?
Here are some reason I can think of why you could be losing signal:
1. a buggy custom ROM
2. a buggy custom kernel
3. improperly cut sim card
4. wrong apn serttings
5. flashing the wrong radio, I believe this will cause a brick more than just losing signal
Typically when **** just keeps going wrong for me I just revert back to stock and start over. This is either done by restoring a nandroid backup I've made, preferable as I don't like to go fully back to factory stock very often, or if you don't have one by flashing the stock image (restores back to factory condition). I would maybe go into the thread for the kernel you are using in the development section and see if anyone else is having the same issue before going nuclear and restoring a stock image.

The battery saver could be your problem as it most likely turns off your radio when not in use to save the battery. Also go into the xylon rom thread and the matrix kernel threads and do a search for signal loss and see if any one else there is also having the same problems. Not sure if you can post in development without 10 post here first but you're on your way.

Wait a minute clemsyn is a kernel, does he even make one for the Nexus 4? I would image your problem is kernel related. If you made a backup of your stock image I would just restore that first through recovery and go from there.

Did a search in development and other people report problems of signal loss with some versions of that kernel. Try flashing a newer version, not sure why I didn't think of that earlier, but I haven't had any reason to flash a kernel in a long time as I gave up on the whole custom thing a long time ago. Same goes for the ROM if a newer version of the kernel doesn't work. these guys are constantly working on these things and things break between versions, they are always a work in progress and things are always breaking and being repaired.

Kernels can work between different devices usually with some modifications done for screen size and resolution but they need to share hardware, cpu in particular. You get in to real trouble when you flash radios from different devices, that will brick it solid.
I would try flashing the latest version of the matrix kernel and see if that helps.

Try toggling airplane mode on and off and see if it comes back on.
If not restoring a backup or flashing the system image may be your only options left.
If you think you made a backup earlier go into recovery, (I'm assuming you have a custom recovery installed) make another backup just in case even though you have no signal its just good habit to make a backup before you do any thing then restore the previous backup. You don't need to be on the pc to do this if you installed a custom recovery, you just need to boot into it. If you used a toolkit then I guess you need to be hooked up to a pc.

I tried restoring to the previous backup. This was just rooted, no custom roms or kernels. But custom recovery.
I don't know if there is a way to fix this. But, the thing is, it was being exactly like this, but I got it fixed somehow. I rebooted after failed attempt and it randomly had signal;;.
After that, I tried flashing a kernel, and ever since it has been no signal

Well, the signal worked fine before, I don't know if setting the APN can help
What I am saying is just make sure that they are the correct ones for your carrier as that could be the cause of the signal loss.

Its a hardware thing. Had it a couple of weeks ago after running with the phone. Eventually worked out after removing the sim tray, reposition the card and put it back.
i have noticed the same issue after shutting my phone off and turning it back off sometimes. no signal or takes a while to connect. i have to restart my phone and it seems to go away. i am running stock rom so i think its a bug in jelly bean.
Did you try taking out the sum card and putting it back in?

Hi all,
I'm currently on Android 4.2.2 (rooted, UK version, SIM unlocked) and would like update to 4.3.
My Baseband version is I9505XXUAMDM.
Does anyone know which rom file I should use? I'd like to retain root permissions if possible and to use an original (or close as possible) Samsung rom.
Many thanks

Yes I was on the I9505XXUAMDM version (see attached image) and just followed the instructions EXCEPT I didn't use ClockworkMod, I'm using 'TWRP Recovery'. I downloaded the 'GALAXY S4 Google Play Edition 4.3 v1.3 CoOoL_BoY.zip' file, placed it on my memory card, booted in to TWRP, wiped the parts as instructed, then ran the installer. All worked nicely!
I backed it all up first (mostly using titanium backup pro), then restored the programs/program data from it after, so I was up and running pretty quickly after.

Thanks, I shall give that a go then
Philz recovery is basically CWM, so as far as I'm aware you can also run the zip from within philz, However can anyone confirm this?

I backed up the apps and their settings (but ignored the system apps). Good luck
So I installed the rom and it is more stable but is still crashing alot!
In Philz recovery when you wipe/factory reset there are two options:
Wipe/factory reset
Clean for a new rom
In guessing I should have chose the clean for a new rom option? I mean the phone still has some of my old data on it so I'm sure something went wrong.
I'm debating just flashing to stock rom and giving up! cab anyone suggest anything?
Cheers

Yeah you should have chosen the 'Clean for new rom' option. It's likely crashing as it still has settings/files left behind that aren't compatible with your new rom. Mine has been very stable since the upgrade, so it's worth trying again with a proper wipe

So it turns out the battery is ruined on the phone, I thought it was the rom initally and I will give it a fresh install when I can.
In the press samsung have stated that some S4 batteries are faulty, Mine has swollen up and the phone no longer lies flat!
Also it only holds charge for about 20 mins!
Anyhow, I have spoken to the local service centre and I can get a free replacement, good news, however will I have to flash my phone back to stock firmware? Or is my warranty still good?
I can borrow a friends battery and flash back to stock fw but will I need to do this or can I just go ahead and flash back on my rom of choice?
I'v never overclocked the phone or played with any battery voltage settings etc, so I think it must be a genuine faulty batch.
Any suggestions?

Nope you can leave the phone software as is, it's only the battery that's at issue. If they want to see the phone just say it's private and you don't want them looking at it. Maybe even take the battery out in front of them as you're talking at the counter so that the phone is turned off, and they have the battery to instantly look at. Should be an obvious / easy swap out for them...

No worries, good luck! It does have the default Google 'People' app, which is the same as the Contacts one. And for music I installed the Google 'Play Mucic' app which isn't bad. The only thing I miss from the Samsung 'TouchWiz' rom is their camera app.

I went for winamp but tbh its layout is awful and I found it very buggy that and my phone battery was already swollen up! haha.
Will report back with results!
thanks once again.
Got a new battery and not had any issues with the rom at all, only issues I did find was that having my SIM PIN enabled got the phone stuck when it booted, I had to take my sim out and put it in my girlfriends phone to disable the sim lock, after that no issues.
I'm in two minds of if I should reflash it or not tho as it now has a **** ton of my apps, I have used titatnium backup before but I find it to copy my buggy software and back it up then reloading it on my new rom hahah!
But a fresh flash might set it straight for longer avoiding me any future headaches... hahah
Anyhow thanks for all the advice.
Peace
Hi all... I have an at&t d800 that was running stock, rooted, and using Xposed. I was at work when I noticed that it was on the recovery TWRP screen. Weird I thought as I didn't restart it. I was having no issues with it prior. When I tried to reboot to system, it went right back to bootscreen. So I did a complete wipe and tried a system restore to a nandroid stock backup. reboot continues to go to the TWRP home screen... anyone have suggestions? I have a feeling its going to take a factory restore of some sort, but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions beforehand. I can turn it off and on, but cannot get past the recovery home screen.
Thanks...

That's exactly what it is for me. Only they did the download while I was working. Bastards. I'm currently downloading the zip file from that link where we do the firmware reload and uproot and go back to stock... the host site is brutal... downloading at 115 kb/sec... once this is down I'll just stay unroot and get the update and move on for a bit. Wait until the kitkat alphas are in release mode.

Can not get into download mode either, I tried sideload adb and was able to flash stock rom and I tried CleanROM 2.0, recovery bootloop anyways, I have a copy of backup lg g2 recovery from flashify but I have no idea how to flash that.

wow. if they bricked our phones this will be the last business I ever do with att or lg. This is inexcusable.

I can't get into download mode either.... This is surreal - Never had this issue before.. Am I without a phone right now? I can't do a damn thing here...
This seems malicious
I knew not to run the OTA - I chose to postpone or ignore the notice from AT&T -- it looks like they pushed it through without my OK and ended up bricking my phone.... can anyone verify a workaround to get into download mode??
I really hope there's a workaround here.... I can't belive that I would be the only one this happened to because I made no selection to run the OTA -- it pushed itself through without my authorization, so I gotta imagine it did the same to a lot of other people here.... Hoping for a response by morning.. Thanks!
Just to confirm some facts about this update....
Are you rooted?
Are you on a custom recovery. If so, twrp or cwm?

This has happened to me also. With my s4 .att pushed update in middle of night and it messed my phone up. Anyhow after two days or so of arguing with att they agreed on a eairly upgrade replacement and I got brand new lg g2 instead of a refurbished s4 .so now I am learning about this phone and I just took the new update. I rooted and was getting ready to flash twrp threw via flashify but I think now im gunna chill with just being rooted until I get a chance to do a lot of reading I guess before I go flashing anything..

EDIT: Also, what is the Software version for said update?
EDIT2: Nevermind, found that it's D80010o.. i'm still D80010d.
EDIT3: For those stuck in the bootloop, have you tried this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
Apparently the bastards will only allow you to decline downloading it up to 3 times at 4 hours per decline, then it 'automagically' downloads and installs itself.
I saw that info on the AT&T website for the LG G2 update, they are such asses.
I used Titanium Backup to search for 'update' and then froze that. That is the easiest way to fix it for now, but, will cost you some money to buy titanium backup. Other apps can probably freeze stuff too tho.
There are other apps/processes running in the background, but, the one I froze was the update after I d/l'd it to my phone, but, chose not to run it. Later on I will disable the rest of the BS on this phone so it won't be AT&T'ified.
There is a 'Cleantool' somebody here on XDA wrote that can run via ADB and remove all the AT&T crap, but, I wanted to make a nandroid backup of the configured initial setup before I start carving the turkey so to speak.

I'm not sure if that will work or not, my knowledge of Linux and the phones is too limited to say. It was however originally intended for Verizon phones as I'm sure you realize.
Just wanted to point that out so that nobody tries it and potentially messes up their D800 to a state that can't be fixed later on when hopefully some kind soul cleans up after AT&T flaming bag of dog poop they just left on our doorstep.
Hi, I have some weird behavior with date and time in CM11 and CM12 - through settings i try network time and then manually but after reboot it reverts back to 1st January 2014 - Very Strange and anoying!!!
Then if i connect wifi or data on phone, the time goes correct!
Another strange thing that in TWRP time is total different from actual and that reverted in CM11. So I have three "times": original we live in, for CM11 or CM12 after reboot and for TWRP What can i do?
What i have tried:
Factory reset
Tried CM11 and CM12
Other versions of TWRP
Tried ktoonsez kernel.
Im out of options, what i need to do? Im very very upset and tired of this problem.
Please help guys
That is a cyanogen open issue, find it and try a solution that's there about setting time one hour ahead. It worked for me

And nothing.
Also restored my phone to one backup i have from 2014-07-03 - OmegaV11, and the problem was solved, reboot sucesfull and time was ok, but when i change to CM11 or CM12, the problem happens again!

What do you want me to say? It is a CM problem, you either install CM and live with it's problems (they are well known) or you keep tw from sammy

Hello, it seems as if my internal storage has unmounted/is missing the last thing I think I was doing before I encountered this problem was either installing a custom boot animation, or spoofing my devices model & Mac address. I tried restoring default Mac and other device information, and even running some commands in terminal emulator and nothing worked. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can solve most problems by simply flashing stock rom. You should probably get twrp installed on your sm-t350 to get nandroid backups.

Back up of your device. When in doubt you flash in twrp. You can back all data. You can Google for more info. It's pretty simple too

So I made my nandroid backup, and after the backup was complete I tried to reboot to my device and it went straight back to recovery. I tried restoring the backup i just made but then upon trying to reboot, it said "No OS installed, are you sure you want to reboot?", I clicked yes, and instead of it going into a boot loop or booting to my device it went straight back into recovery. I used the TWRP file manager and all my files and my SD card is still present so no operating system clearly isnt true. got any suggestions?
Also i dont have access to my computer for the next couple of hours

Your files are not on the same partition as the OS. If twrp says you don't have an OS then you've wiped it. It will boot to recovery if you have no OS.
Install the stock firmware with odin.
Hello,
i seem to have badluck this time with custom rom and development for this device. Last i was struggling with encryption problem (when the great @DarthJabba9 showed me the right path) and now a strange thing happened.
So when i successfully booted into xiaomi.eu (latest) first time without encrypting my recovery function, everything was working fine and good, until i installed whatsapp provided all the permissions then suddenly it didnt look for my backup and acted like there was no backup (i nearly got a heart attack) and after setting up the name and so, i got to know it cant create backup, nor do anything which involve the use of internal storage because it is not writing nor reading internal storage, then i backoff and flashed back 11.6.0 stable, whatsapp start working normally, tried again with other xiaomi.eu and miglobe versions - failed same result, whatsapp only working in stable 11.6.0 and not working in other roms. Also, search function didnt work for me this time (so i found out i am the only one with this problem). does any body has a fix other than telling me to unsinstall, reinstall, clearing data etc.
- except whatsapp everything is working fine (TILL NOW)
Oh....please.....nobody has a clue???
The best was is to backup, then flash the right fastboot rom, OrangeFox the last build and then u rom with the right steps! Step by step... Good luck
---------- Post added at 09:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:50 PM ----------
Maybe to copy all to a computer before u flash the fastboot rom. Look on the options from mi flashtool...

Well thanks for the advice, but i am looking for a fix, and what you said is same as wiping internal/formatting data/clean flash, ah.....so already tried. Does anybody have a fix?? Oh.....please....i am waiting...
You can try a modded whatsapp like Fouad whatsapp. It might solve the issue + extra goodies. Search it on web.
Make sure you backup your chats before uninstalling the app.

Strange. Really hard to blind guess what might be the issue. Guess you should try using an aosp based rom.

Whatsapp does not block you if you ask for otp multiple times in a day. It will restrict the sms for some hours after three attempts i guess, after that you can get it via call. Four times is enough for a day.
And having my number would not help as I wont be giving you the otp.
probably you use deep clean and erase the WP data.
