Weird GPS Problem - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
I´ve recently got a weird GPS problem...
Whenever an APP uses Wifi and Mobile networks to obtain my location. After a while I notice that the battery has taken a hit...
Then the APP which obtained the location is on the top and states that GPS has been used for X Hours...
Anyone knows this problem by chance?

Greeting cards is my anti-theft app. GPS started when my battery went below 14%. After that it didn't turn off.
Same happens for Facebook etc sometimes.
(Using location via WiFi & mobile networks)

AW: Weird GPS Problem
Nobody got a solution? :/ I reflashed everything, didn't solve it...

Just remove the app and install another gps app. It is preventing your phone from deep sleep.

The funny thing is , it does go in deep sleep. It's not just this app it sometimes happens with other apps too. It stays like that until I reboot :/

Nexus 4 wifi reader problem?

I have between noticing that it suddenly cuts off, and when i try to fix it sometimes the settings application will crash and i get an error saying to wait, report or close. This never happens on my nexus 7 and I'm connected to the same wifi, so it can't be a connection problem. Anybody experience this?

Wi-Fi always turning itself on?? :(

Last night I installed a few toggle widgets. First for auto rotation then for sound profiles then the Bluetooth one and in the end for Wi-Fi.
However after installing the Wi-Fi widget.. I noticed Wi-Fi would turn itself on without even asking my permission. This I noticed when I woke up today morning and saw an unexpected amount of battery drain. I immediately checked and the Wi-Fi was on. I remember correctly that I had switched it off in night (which comes under my daily habits after hitting the bed). Anyhow I immediately got rid of that widget by uninstalling but issue still persists.
Can anyone suggest anything to stop phone from turning Wi-Fi on itself?
Below is the app and my Wi-Fi's advance settings.

By the way.. I must add.. My phone is totally stock. And I I have had no problems with any of the apps prior to installation of this widget.

Sometimes apps like this can be a little flaky. I have HD widgets that I use to turn on my wifi and it can misbehave also. I have compensated by having a app that turns the wifi off at a particular time of day. You can also set it to turn wifi off when the screen is off. Other than that I would suggest looking for a widget that works better. There is a ton out there.
It was my bad that I downloaded this widget. I don't want to download some app to ''manage'' Wi-Fi setting off. I want to make it how it was prior this widget installation... Turning on and of myself. Is there any way.... Without the help of another app or widget

I think i need to change KEEP WIFI ON DURING SLEEP option to Never.
Can anyone attach a snapshot of his advance settings in wifi option? Like i have attached above
I believe it's the "battery guru" app you have installed... that's primarily what it does, keep you on Wi-Fi as much as possible

So far I think this was the cause.. Snapdragon BatteryGuru.
Go to the settings in BatteryGuru and turn OFF the "Manage Wi-Fi" option. It's been an hour I have turned it off and wifi hasn't turned itself on. Therefore, I believe this option was causing wifi to show up.
I remember a friend of mine turned this option ON (the same day when I installed that wifi toggle). I just realized that after reading QUIETLYloud's post. Thanks a bunch mate.
This will help people in future.

Galaxy s4 gps does not start

In Google map or other apps that requires Gps, the GPS does not start up automatically. I have to turn the GPS off and then on. All position services are turned on.
Anyone with this issue? Solution?
I'm on stock android from June. Since my phone is a corporate phone, I cannot root it and install a custom ROM.

Same here I9505, first with Djembey rooted MGA and now (it worked fine and suddenly happened again) in omega 13.2.
The only thing I noticed different is that google settings changed to grey icon and location report and history activated on its own.
Please, help...
Edit: installed GPS status app, it detects it's on, but not searching satellites, I switch GPS off and it's detected as off... so basically is like it enters in an hibernation state? Weird
Reinstalled omega and now is working, I don't know...

Proman99, I suggest you to flash via ODIN latest official Rom or reset mobile and see if it works

[Q] GPS running in background and won't turn off. How do I fix it?

I have the 32GB black S 4 on AT&T. Starting just 4 or 5 days ago, my battery has drained within the span of 6 hours or so. I figured out that it happened every time I used Google Maps, not any other app. When I turn GPS off in the quick settings and completely close the app (using the recent apps menu), the GPS still runs in the background. The only way I can fix this is by restarting the device. I have turned off all the Location Settings for Maps, and have even uninstalled updates, but to no avail.
If I reflash the stock firmware using Odin, will it fix the issue (without losing data? What check boxes do I select?
Thanks!
P.S. I'm stock and unrooted.

How do you know gps is still running in the background? If you turn it off in the quick menu or settings you might still see location services running but it can't use gps if it's turned off.
I've checked using BetterBatteryStats and the battery settings menu, and both say that GPS is still running.

Nexus 6P GPS issues?

Anybody have issues with the gps finding your location? I'm fully stock no root and every time I search for my location it hangs and sometimes I have to toggle it on and off. Is this normal?

I always install the GPS Status app, it may help you as you can clear/update A-GPS data for a possibly quicker fix.
When I was on stock, gps was fast at fixing for myself and I never had to toggle it.
